Detective Pikachu is a strange but ultimately entertaining installment in the long running Pokémon franchise. It’s plot is absurd but you can’t deny that the game has charm with its characters and setting. While the plot may seem predictable at first along with early gameplay, it quickly evolves into a challenging but rewarding experience.

Super fun game, with a great story. (The precursor to the detective pikachu movie) The entire family played this start to finish. That’s a super rare thing to happen when all 3 of us have very different taste in games. I highly recommend it.

This game is so different from other poker games. It has a talking pikachu who is trying to solve different crimes or issues. Although you will certainly encounter many characters or creatures from the pokemon universe, this game is closer to a kids friendly version of "LA NOIRE". Fun, but not what your kids are expecting.

This is not your average Pokemon game. You will have to work together with Pikachu to solve mysteries/crimes. You will have to do some thinking and place together evidence. Overall solving the mysteries felt rewarding and I look forward to there being a sequel hopefully.

it is odd for Pikachu to talk to you but I guess this would eventually be made for Pokeman. If you like a detective side to Pikachu then give this a try. The game play takes getting used to and when playing interact with much characters and items as possible to find clues.

Cute detective game, but a little too mature for my kiddo, as they are not ready for comprehensive reading yet. Bought this before reading the review to determine if this is good for my kiddo to play. Maybe I can play alongside my kiddo so we can have fun adventures together!

I went into this with the full expectation that this game wasn't going to be that good, but boy was I wrong. I played the game and actually got stumped at some points. I enjoyed the gameplay and the cutscenes were a brilliant touch to the game.

Detective Pikachu is a point and click adventure. The story is pretty good and so are the graphics for a 3DS game. If you like Pokemon or point and click adventures like Sam and Max, then you'll probably like Detective Pikachu.

The game isn't your typical Pokemon game. You walk around being the only person who can hear Pikachu and you solve mysteries. Short game overall, but fun and funny. Pre teens who love Pokemon will definitely enjoy this one.

Great quality for a game. Hoping that there would be a second part for the game when you finish it. Kids that like Pokémon and Pokémon games will like this one.

If you love Pokemon and enjoy the Professor Layton detective games for the 3DS, then look no further. A great game for kids and adults who grew up with them both. Easy to follow, fun to play. Great graphics, awesome music.

Hilarious is an understatement for this game- this game always has me laughing and the puzzles and secrets give the game a good story. Detective Pikachu is a delight and perfect for anyone looking for a Pokémon spinoff!

Great game starring Pikachu of Pokemon fame. The game is definitely geared toward kids, but it tells a fairly engrossing story that is a great warm up for the movie coming out this summer. Highly recommended.

Lovely game - surprisingly perfect at being enjoyable at all ages without feeling dumb for playing. Kind of unique within the Nintendo line. So far - I'd buy a sequel.

While Detective Pikachu is kind of short, it has a lot of charm and attention to detail which makes it stand out. While some of the cases that need to be solved aren't as good as others, there is still a lot of fun to be had here.

What Nintendo DS gamer doesn’t love a Pikachu Pokémon game? This is a new twist we’ve never seen before. A great adventure and action game with lots is surprises along the way! Highly recommend!!

Definitely weaker than most of the other Pokemon games. Not sure who the targeted audience is: some of the puzzles are overly simplistic (but you still have to click through a lot of buttons talking to people to prove to the game you have the answer) while others are convoluted. It was fun enough to get through, mostly cause I was curious about the storyline. The ending was disappointing though.

The game feels targeted towards a younger audience, but that doesn't take away from the enjoyment that you can have playing it as an adult. Playing through it has definitely gotten me excited for the upcoming movie.

Very simple game that is recommended for any fan of Pokémon. This game feels like you are playing an anime. The mystery of the game can be easy to predict, but the experience is still fun nonetheless.
