This was very easy to purchase and redeem. Make sure to keep the email with the code info in case you need a return. I accidently trashed mine i think but customer service was awesome and quick to help.

Dick's Sporting goods gift card is an essential for folks who are into any kind of sports. Dick's being my preferred shop for sporting equipments like tennis racquet, ping pong paddle, this card has a saving of $5!

I purchased 3 $50 e-gift cards for Dick’s Sporting Goods from BestBuy on 11/25/2023. I received an email with the links to the activated gift cards within 5 minutes after purchasing and retrieved the card #'s and pin #'s. When I tried to redeem these gift cards at Dick’s Sporting Goods, the balance was $0 for each. Here is a history of the circus I experienced trying and ultimately failing to receive any support BestBuy:
• Initiated online chat on 11/25/2023 to troubleshoot. I was informed from the agent I spoke with that nobody from the team that specializes in support for e-gift cards was available and to try again the next day if still seeing a zero balance on the cards.
• Called on Sun 11/26/2023 (8 mins) – Agent I spoke with could not help me and said I would need to reach out next day if still having issues
• Called on Mon 11/27/2023 (14 mins) – Spoke with an agent who asked me to provide screenshots of cards showing zero balance so they could investigate further
• Emailed screenshots requested on 11/27/2023 to [email protected]
• Received response to my 11/27 email about 12 hours later saying:
“I’m sorry to hear about activation. I understand that can be quite upsetting. Let me assist you with that.
However, this level of support is beyond our capabilities via email. In order to give you the most thorough and accurate information, please call 1-888-BESTBUY (1-888-237-8289) to speak to one of our representatives.”
• I called Tues evening 11/28/2023 (25 miins) – Spoke with an agent and informed them that I provided exactly what was asked for during my call on 11/27 and would like to understand what else was needed to resolve the issue. After being transferred to someone in the Digital Download department, I again provided a detailed description of the issue. The agent asked me to confirm the e-gift card #’s I was provided with (they read me the card numbers and I confirmed those were indeed the card #’s I retrieved from their link), the agent did some investigation and came back to tell me that on their end, they could see the cards were activated and at that time, they could not see what happened to the card balance after it was activated. They instructed me to reach out to Dick’s Sporting Goods to investigate why the card balance was showing zero. The agent provided me with a case reference # that I could provide to Dick’s Sporting Goods if necessary.
• I reached out to Dick’s Sporting Goods Customer Service immediately following that call on 11/28/2023 and began the investigation process through their team that specializes in e-gift cards. I was asked to provide some information about the order from BestBuy and the card #’s so they could investigate. After several back and forth emails and calls with Dick’s Sporting Goods customer service, I was informed by them on 12/1/2023 that there is nothing they could do on their end as they have no record of the cards being activated and therefore I needed to reach back out to BestBuy to get the cards activated.
• I called Friday 12/1/2023 (45 mins) – Spoke with an agent in the digital download department who reviewed the information documented so far, and informed me he was unable to see the screenshots of the zero balances I provided in my email sent on 11/27/2023 even though he could see the body of the email. He asked me to again send screenshots and also the case reference # I was provided from Dick’s Sporting Goods so they could investigate further. I asked the agent if he could check the balances himself to avoid not being able to access the screenshots I was sending and he informed me that 1) he does not have access to the card #’s for security purposes (funny since the Agent I talked to from the same department on 11/28 had access to these) and 2) once they had the screenshots, they have to be reviewed and investigated by a separate team (this team I was told is not available to directly talk to on the phone). Separately, he tried to send me a new link to 3 different gift cards to see if those worked. I accessed those new e-gift cards through the same process as the original 3 cards, and after checking those new card #’s on Dick’s Sporting Goods website while still on the phone with this Agent, noted the same issue as the original 3 gift cards (zero balance).
• I again emailed [email protected] on 12/1/2023 with the requested screenshots showing zero balance and Dick’s Sporting Goods case #.
• I received an email back on 12/2 in response to my 12/1 email noting the following:
“We have received your screenshot stating that the cards were in zero balance.
Unfortunately, we're unable to validate if whose account redeemed the cards.
Kindly do the basic troubleshooting such as signing out and signing back in to refresh your account.
If you still encounter the same issue, you may contact directly to Dick's Sporting Goods at 1 (877) 846-9997.”
• I called BestBuy on Sat 12/2/2023 (31 mins) – Spoke to an agent and informed them that given they had not yet resolved the issue, I wanted a refund. The agent I talked with informed me that since it was an e-gift card order, they could not help me, but they could transfer me to the E-gift card team to assist. They then transferred me to CashStar. The agent I spoke with from CashStar informed me they had no record of my order from BestBuy (my BestBuy order number did not work and they also tried my email to look-up the order.
• After receiving no resolution for this issue for 7 days, I reached out to dispute the transaction with my bank on 12/2/2023.
