Pretty tough to top an iPad nowadays, so I'd really only recommend this to someone who doesn't like Apple or iPad.

I picked up the DL808W on a whim after stumbling across it in the store. I had been looking for an inexpensive 8" Windows tablet for a few weeks, so the timing was perfect. The screen is far better than you would expect for the price, and compares very favorably to similarly-priced Android tablets. It's massively better than the screen on Acer's early 8" Windows 8 tablets, and those cost at least 2-3x as much as this one. That being said, doing a fresh installation of Windows 10 Pro was a phenomenal pain; there are no driver downloads available anywhere on the Digiland page for this model. Windows Update will find some of them, but you'll be missing some fairly important ones, namely the touch screen driver. After several hours of searching, I finally found a bundle of drivers for the DL801W, which as far as I can tell is the same model with only 16 GB of storage. Long story short, everything but the front-facing camera seems to be working fine under stock Windows 10 Pro (with the "anniversary update"). I'll survive. Performance is decent, bearing in mind that this is a system with 1 GB RAM. I'm not going to subject it to Visual Studio, but it seems to handle Office 2016 just fine. It would be nice if it had separate ports for charging and connecting USB devices. As-is there's no way to hang a hub off of it and charge at the same time. You can still use a Bluetooth keyboard/mouse/gamepad while charging, though. Also, there's no video output, so no external displays here. The microSD slot requires quite a bit of effort - and a very long fingernail - to get cards in and out, but as easy as it is to accidentally dislodge the card on other tablets I've used, that's something of an advantage here. The manual claims compatibility with cards up to 32 GB, but it seems to be working perfectly fine with a 64 GB SanDisk. Bottom line: if you need a small, sub-$100 Windows tablet, and you're comfortable with either using the OEM Windows 10 Home installation, or you have a very high tolerance for hunting down drivers, then the DL808W should get the job done. This is, of course, a Windows tablet, and if you don't know why you would need a Windows tablet, odds are you don't. But if you DO need one, then you'd be hard pressed to find one of better quality for under a hundred bucks.

Bought this as a gift for my teenage daughter. Within a week of using it ONLY at home, the charging port stopped working, the Internet stopped connecting to our wifi network and now it won't charge. I should have thrown my money out the window instead. I'll be seeking a refund and returning this junk.

    Good Cheap Windows Tablet

I've had Digiland tablets before and they seemed cheap, this one seems to be of decent build quality and the screen has good viewing angles. I've been very happy with this tablet for surfing the web, watching movies, and playing some older games on it. With only a 1 GB of RAM you can only do one thing at a time but that is expected for the price. Pros: Screen Resolution, Build Quality, ability to watch HD movies Cons: Space with only 32 GB of storage, running disk cleanup is a must, you need to use microsd which is very slow, RAM if it had 2GB that would be a huge help, last is battery life it is enough to watch a 2 - 3 hour movie but that's it and it does seem to heat up pretty good during that time. All in all I was pleasantly surprised at what it could do, giving that I went in with very low expectations. I would recommend this as a cheap tablet if you wanted something to travel with and didn't want to worry about losing or breaking your good tablet. So far been having lots of fun with it.

    decent, but severely lacking ports

Just picked this up to replace a winbook tablet from microcenter (charging port failed). This Digiland tablet is functional and appears to have decent battery life. Unfortunately, that is where the good news ends. It is severely limited by lack of a full size USB port for attaching peripherals and also lack of any video out. One of the advantages of a windows tablet should be the ability to attach a mouse, and with a usb hub, mouse and keyboard, and use it as a mini PC. Unfortunately this tablet has no full size USB port to attach peripherals. (Be advised, the advertising which says it has a USB port apparently refers to the mini USB charging port.) Lack of any video out also means you cant stream things like netflix or hulu to a TV, or use a full size monitor, again one of the things that should be an advantage of a Windows tablet. Finally, the screen seems to be plastic. It works fine and the touch is fairly accurate, but leaves a very cheap feel. BTW, the Winbook tablet from Microcenter had full size USB, HDMI out, and a glass screen for a very similar price. I am seriously considering returning this tablet, but since I got it on sale 20.00 off, and dont want to make a trip to Microcenter, will probably just keep it.

I thought this would be a good tablet for my 4 yr old grandson but I was mistaken. Its too hard for him to operate. He can manage my Ipad but not this tablet. Takes too long to load. Mostly what he wants to watch is PBS kids. It buffers a lot.

    First Impressions

The overall build quality is good but not great. The screen: - It's plastic and not glass - so I'm guessing it will scratch fairly quick. - The color and picture quality are fairly good, but there is a fair amount of light bleed on all edges which does affect the picture at times. - Touch sensitivity is fairly good but far from great, doesn't always pick up on exactly what you want requiring multiple touches or swipes at times. Setup: - Including all updates and install of apps that I use regularly on my Desktop took about 3 hours and leaves me with aprox. 10GB of storage remaining (you'll need and SD card). Cameras: - The cameras are terrible! They take very grainy pictures and are totally useless in low light. (comparable to early I-Pod touch cameras). Speed: - This won't win you any races but for the hardware specs it does a great job! - It boots to the lock screen in about 5 seconds and takes about another 5 - 10 seconds after entering PIN to fully loaded Start Screen. Now with all that said for the price this isn't a bad little Tablet and will work great for the average user. The only thing so far that I've noticed that concerns me is that the back towards the top gets very Hot very quickly when in constant use. So when it was downloading and installing the Windows updates it stayed rather toasty the entire time. This is probably due to a poorly designed or cheap heatsink for the processor. So if like me you need something inexpensive to take with you on short trips so you don't need to lug a full laptop along this is a viable option. Couple it with an inexpensive Bluetooth keyboard and it would probably fill most needs on short trips.

We actually ended up returning this tablet. I really dislike that it runs on Windows 10 which was the first downfall. The internet option kept disappearing and the while experience was just a mess.

    Great tablet for the price

Pros: Fast for basic browsing and games. Updated to fall update right away with no problems. The build is good and it does not bend or move. The screen is very good for the price if not amazing. I got this for 30 dollars because I bought another item that came with a 50 dollar gift card, but this is worth it at 80. Cons: Not a speed Demon, but fast enough. Sometimes when waking up it takes 10 seconds or so, but not every time. Not likely to see many updates from the digiland brand though I have no basis for that statement other than digiland being an off brand. I would buy this again especially as I own most of the Toca games for windows and my kids love those games. Great tablet for kids and one of the few available in the 8 inch variety for windows 10.
