You can't move Direct TV remote to another TV.

Because it's a regular size it's harder to lose than the small Direct TV supplied remote. Because each remote control works only with its assigned receiver; I would suggest that every subscriber buy a spare; it comes with programming instructions.

Decided to try this and was surprised that it was able to control the newest boxes. Doesnt offer voice obviously but still pretty awesome nonetheless

Stupendous back up remote for Directv DVR

Programing the remote is fairly easy to do. Unlike other remotes, this remote also has a nice range for use; there is no need to sit a ft. away from the receiver. The only thing to be warned about is they will serve their purpose for a few good years. However, they will eventually breakdown from constant use, and then they will need to be replaced again. Other than that, the product is stupendous.

The new remote works great, don’t have to push hard to get it to work and looks much nicer!

I picked up the replacements a few day later. Everyone at Best Buy was very helpful at each step!
