I found it easy to program. I don't care for the slider at the top of remote that you have to switch to each device to turn on/off TV. It is also pretty big and is not back lit, I have to turn on a light to find exit or guide buttons

This was a lifesaver. When my month old remote suddenly stopped working and I put new batteries in it and still it wouldn’t talk to the receiver I had no idea what to do. Looking around the store I came across this replacement remote and it worked like a charm! Problem solved!

Got DIRECTV years ago and then bought a replacement remote to replace the remote that came with DIRECTV. I then took back the remote that was supposed to be a replacement for the DIRECTV remote. I went to Best Buy and they showed me the DIRECTV remote and I bought it. It works better than the original!

Works like a charm, much better than the small one that DirecTV gives you these days. This one is exactly the same as the original, same layout, same quality, same functionality. I love it.

This was a replacement to our most used remote that is 5 years old. Being vendor made it programed easily. Wish my receivers were newer and could take advantage of the RC feature (it's not directional) that provides greater ease of use.

This remote makes life much simpler in front of the tv. Just put the batteries in and move the selector switch all the way to the left and you're set. There is even a menu under the "Settings" menu that allows you to set up your tv, vcr, DVD, and whatever else you may have. If you ever need a replacement, however, Best Buy is just about the ONLY place you can go get one.

Been using these remotes on my DTV for some time. They are simple and easy to use, by far my favorite cable company remote. Problem is that they aren't the best quality and if you break one, DirectTV dosent replace them unless you have the insurance plan. It stinks you gotta buy them yourself, very fortunate that BB sells them, and for not too expensive. Don't want to know what DTV would charge...

Buttons were sticking on my old remote. Instead of trying to get a multifunction remote I just went with the one I knew would work with DirecTV and my television. Set up to all of 2-3 minutes since I already had the codes for my TV.

This remote unified the DirecTV with an older Insignia t.v. . The TotalTech rep had no problem with the installation.

My puppy ate my other remote and I prefer this remote instead of the Genie remote. It works fine and is much easier to use than the smaller Genie remotes they have now.

The Directv remote does everything a remote control device should do. It is easy to use. I purchased a new one because after 'only' 11 years of frequent use, it died. Just kidding, of course! These days, 11 years is a long time. I had obviously changed the batteries many times but this time, that 'fix' did not work. :(

Does the job just fine. I have to get used to the size, as it is larger than the old one.

Needed to replace the more “modern” and sleeker model since it just wasn’t after only 2yrs of use (suppose to last forever). So I went the old reliable and works just as well. 4 out of 5 stars only because I had to get use to the positions of the buttons all over again.

I keep buying this remote because it’s the only direct tv remote that works on my tv and box. Pretty tough considering how many times I drop it and it still works.

I can control my TV from my bed laying down. I don’t have to get off the bed to change the channel or turn it off. The buttons are easy to use. I know what button to press in the dark. So far I have nothing bad to say about it

Lost my newer original remote. After 2 days missing the remote, I got tired of getting up to the cable box every time I needed to manually change the channels, so I went to Best Buy. They didn't stock my original remote but the salesperson said this model would work. I noticed that this remote did not react as fast. I usually record my football games and fast forward, but it was frustrating because I would have to point the remote in the direction of the front of cable box and wait til it reacted. My original remote did not have to be pointed at box and reacted immediately. I would recommend this as a spare remote only.
