Loving Disney Infinity!

I have never played any of the previous Disney infinity games but had a general understanding of how it worked. I know it is geared towards kids and probably the main reason I avoided it. That was until they announced 3.0 and that Star Wars would be the main selling point of the set.
I spent weeks watching videos and reading reviews to see if it would be worthwhile for an adult to buy such a game geared towards kids. All I can say is that I am sure glad I caved and purchased this game. It is a simple game (kids in mind) but super fun and I just love being able to play the various Star Wars characters at any point in the game. I loved it so much that I bought every figure and power disc and have zero regrets. The figures themselves are worth it just to collect as a fan but the sheer magnitude of the game is great. There is so much to do and see that I have barely scratched the surface. I have mostly spent time working through the playsets but the toy box is its own game in itself where you are only bound by the limits of your imagination.
My only advice is to watch for sales on the sets like I did for the PS4 bundle which I got for way less than release pricing and then got the gamer's club discount to boot! It actually cost me less than if I bought the starter pack which was something I could not pass up. Great game and look forward to seeing what the future holds for it because Disney has a fan for life.

If you enjoyed previous entries in the Disney Infinity franchise then you will no doubt enjoy this one. The combat has been improved thanks to a collaboration with Ninja Theory (the studio behind DMC, Enslaved, and Heavenly Sword).
The figures are very well done too. It's amazing how their designers were able to take characters of various design philosophies and make them all seem like they belong in one world- the Disney Infinity world.
And what else can I say, the Toy Box is better than ever with new goodies to play with and a new interface that makes creating your perfect digital world easier than ever.

This is an incredible deal. You get 5 characters and 2 playsets plus the game and the 3.0 base! The game is unbelievably fun. I'm a grown man and I play it constantly. Works with 2.0 and 1.0 characters and the toy box is jam packed with hours of things to do. Imagination Explosion!

I am glad to see this came out. The game is fun to play and I enjoy all the new infinity characters in the line up for 3.0. I got this basically for just the star wars characters. Use your gamers club and get the discount too on the game and the characters!

I've been interested in Disney's Infinity since it first came out, but mediocre reviews kept me from investing. Don't get me wrong, the figurines have been top notch from the get go, but I didn't want to spend alot on them if I wasnt playing a fun game they could be a part of. When they announced Star Wars was going to be the next theme, I was tempted to give in wether or not the game was good. Fortunetly, reviews for the game were favorable online so I bought it. I haven't regreted it at all. This game is so packed with things to do, it's overwhelming. It's main story game plays great, the creation tools are the most user friendly yet, and the characters are fun to use in-game. If you're just starting to get into Infinty, start with this version!

As a major Star Wars fan for most of my live, I was particularly excited when I heard that the characters from a galaxy far far away would be joining Disney Infinity, something that almost seemed inevitable since the Walt Disney Company purchased Lucasfilm in 2012. Needless to say, they managed to get it right, making it feel much like a Star Wars game equivalent to that of Battlefront. Every single aspect was worth playing, especially the "Twilight of the Republic" playset, because it managed to capture the feel (and voices) of a classic episode of the hit animated series, "Star Wars: The Clone Wars". Since I purchased the full bundle, I received the "Rise Against the Empire" playset much earlier, as well as Boba Fett, who's quickly supplanted Iron Man as my favorite Disney Infinity figure. The new playset, which recreates the classic Star Wars trilogy that started it all, managed to prove to be just as entertaining, even though it omitted certain elements for time purposes (i.e. Cloud City, Han in Carbonite) or changed certain events (namely Vader's big reveal) from how they happened in the film. However, considering the amount of effort put into the game, changes to the plot were just nitpicks.
The gameplay is also much more improved over 2.0 in terms of missions and combat. When playing each mission, whether its with Luke Skywalker or Obi-Wan Kenobi, each mission, especially the combat scenarios, feel much more like Battlefront, and when upgrades are given, the skill tree makes it much easier to level up rather than the complex mess in 2.0. Not only that, but with each task, it would fit right into any Star Wars scenario no matter how crazy it seemed. The detail is extravagant in every world, the characters are well made, and the stories fit with the media they're based off of (though I can't say much about the Force Awakens, since it hasn't come out yet)
If I did have any complaints, it would be minor ones at that, since they don't really don't effect the game's overall experience. First off, Jar Jar Binks. Why include him? He's the most hated character in all of the franchise, and Disney has made it plenty clear that the infamous Gugan doesn't sit well with them either. He's not playable, but still, Jar Jar is not only unnecessary, but his inclusion only gives hardcore fans bad memories of a disappointing film when they stepped in the theaters to see "The Phantom Menace". He's much better here since now you can seek revenge on him, but that's practically his only purpose.
My second complaint is a general lack of true-blue "Disney" figures from their classic animated features. I know that Peter Pan is next on the list, but after counting all figures from 1.0., 2.0., and 3.0., 61 figures are of Disney's other properties, and not Disney themselves. I know Disney is trying to incorporate all of their characters, but their own people have a slim minority. Not only that, but popular characters like Baloo, Ariel, Darkwing Duck, Beast, and even the Genie haven't made it to figure form. Perhaps in the future, Disney might make them, but I hope its sooner rather than later. Considering that the majority of LEGO Dimension's figures are Warner Brother's properties (even though they're not classical figures like the Looney Tunes), Disney should consider stepping up their number of home-grown figures to keep up with the brick-built giant.
Overall. 3.0 is a solid entry into the Disney Infinity franchise, and is worth the price for any Star Wars fan, or someone looking for a new game to play.

I grew up watching the original Star Wars movies. While playing the game it feels like I can relive my childhood for a little while and escape back to the past. My son has even taken to the game and is now interested in the movies. There's plenty of activities to do in the game, the sounds, music, and characters are all spot on with the movies and it's loads of fun to play. If you just want to sit down and have a good time this game is definitely worth a play. And all I can say Boba Fett rocks!!!

The set up is similar to the previous Infinity versions, however the figures are not interchangeable. Version 2.0 will not work on 3.0, a fact that is clearly stated on the product packaging (and a very important fact at that). Like other themes, you can set out to complete missions within the game, but in this Star Wars Saga, there is more open or free play that is not mission oriented. There are several figures to expand the set from the classic Star Wars as well as Clone wars and the new Rebels. But a critical figure from the Rebels genre, Chopper, is not available. It would be nice to have this figure for a different perspective on the game. All in all, fun to play.

A Great SW game experience for kids AND adults

Having been in college when the original Battlefront was released during the PS2/Xbox generation, and having spent far too many hours with it during those days, I was truly excited about the new release, but hesitant knowing EA's history. Unfortunately my hesitations were well founded and what we got was, while a beautiful looking game, a clone of the Call of Duty/Battlefield type games that offer limited replayability and little to no strategy.
I decided to hop back into Infinity (I own the 1.0 for the Wii U and enjoyed it for what it was) and am glad I did. While the graphics can be cartoony (on par with what you see in the Clone Wars and Rebels CGI shows) and it IS built to be playable to kids, so you'll spend time chasing down baby banthas and helping younglings, that aside, it's a truly great SW game experience. Building up each characters unique strengths and abilities, doing force combos, running around Coruscant and Endor, going toe to toe with Darth Maul, hunting down Tusken Raiders - it feels like you're playing in a Star Wars universe. I think both kids and adults can really enjoy this experience.
The big bundle is worth it, especially if you catch it on one of BB's sales, as both the prequel and OT games offer a lot of unique fun and you get Boba Fett, which no one will complain about!

I bought this game for my girlfriend because I had made the mistake of letting her know it was being released. I'm glad I did it is a blast of a game not to mention the fact of getting boba and a player that aren't avaliable yet make it all the better. She's been playing it non stop and loves it even more then she did 2.0. It was a great buy.

And it was SO worth it. I had my eye on this, since it was first released. The intent was to purchase it, so that my nieces and nephews would have a fun game to play when visiting at my house. Little did I know that Disney Infinity was even fun for me (the kid inside of me, going back to early days of playing video games, just comes out when playing this).
It's hard to go beyond what professional reviewers have already detailed about this game, so I'll just say that if you are looking for a game that'll be fun for your kids, but at the same time not have you bored out of your mind while watching them play it, this is one to have in your collection. Luckily, for me, I jumped on the Deal of the Day that basically brought the price down to a regular PS4 game (Gamers Unlocked Discount, Thank You!).
The graphics, although geared more toward animated looking characters, are still very good and the gameplay is much smoother than I thought it would be. To have, pretty much, an open world action/adventure game that is "kid friendly", but still fun to play for adults also...and multi-player? That's a must have, for all families.

While I enjoyed Marvel's introduction into the Infinity family with version 2.0, 3.0's inclusion of the Star Wars franchise has made Infinity THAT much more enjoyable. Having access to vehicles, characters and more is both exciting and fun but also fills a massive void until Star Wars Battlefront is released. I love the figures that come in the set -- they are all well crafted and carry a great visual design. One thing I love about all Disney Infinity figures is the consistency in their construction as well as the paint job. Often times action figures start to seem like snowflakes because the paint never seems to be applied the same way each time which can lead to wonky eyes or poor detail. The Infinity characters since day one have exhibited very high quality control which is reassuring for those who purchase online and worry about the figure looking ok. Game play is fun and the environments are pretty well designed. The addition of the Boba Fett character is a definite bonus in this set and I'm glad this set came with so many characters. I highly recommend this.

This set gives you characters in advance that wont be available for a little while. You can play as Boba Fett (early) and comes with playset with Luke/Leia that is only available early in the bundle. Four figures and two playset sets and the game, when you have gamers club that 20% makes this a no brainer.
