One of Tarentino's best. Great acting, great storyline, & humor. Christoph Waltz has great dry humor throughout the movie that keeps you entertained. With all the usual bloodshed, the writing & acting with every character is top notch. Dicaprio is amazing as usual & knowing he stayed in character even when he actually cut his hand on glass during a scene shows you his range. If you haven't seen it, it's a must see. Even for all the Don Johnson scenes. I laugh every time I see them.

Quentin Tarantino did it again guys.. This is a terrific movie. He really finds a way to bring life to a movie that involves such violence. Leonardo Decaprio and Jaime Foxx do an excellent job as foes and the work done by Samuel Jackson and Christopher Waltz set this movie apart for other spaghetti westerns. Quentin also adds some fun to the educated viewer as he adds the original Django in the movie as a cameo. All in all, watch the movie... Make sure the kids are in bed and enjoy this art work.

Personally my favorite Tarantino movie. There are still long monologues and gratutious, campy violence as to be expected from Quentin, but there's much more going on here than in other Tarantino films. Waltz's character is especially complex, sandwiched between Foxx's incredibly cool, somewhat cliché single-minded Django and DiCaprio's evil, yet somewhat naïve plantation owner and slaver. Bit parts from Sam L. Jackson and Don Johnson are gems too.

First of all, anything Quentin Tarentino I already love and will watch no matter what. That being said, Django was a special film in large part due to the controversial issue of slavery during the 1800s ( n-word bombs all throughout the movie) and the shear gore factor that Tarentino classically infuses in all his films. Overall, good movie full of funnies, violence, and "did he just say that?!?" moments. Jamie Foxx + Dicaprio = awesome. Amazing soundtrack as well.

The essentials of Quentin Tarantino's over-the-top storytelling style are all present in this loud, bloody, hilarious escaped-slave revenge story. Christoplh Waltz's performance is nuanced and hilarious, as well as thoughtfully introspective. Jamie Foxx is heroic, hilarious, and credibly against stereotype. Leonardo DiCaprio and Samuel L. Jackson play master and trusted head slave over a sprawling plantation where Django's wife, Broonhilda, is held. Along the way, Don Johnson, Quentin Tarantino himself, Bruce Dern, Jonah Hill, Walton Goggins, Tom Wopat, and a "cast of Thousands(!)" chew the scenery to a pulp in this roaring subversively political comedy-adventure.

If Tarantino movies, you will truly enjoy this film. It brings in the gritty talk, violence, and spectacular dialogue! The characters are all Dynamic and if you're a Tarantino fan, you will really enjoy this. If you do not like rough talk, or violence you might want to skip this. All of that said this is an All-Star cast, and they play dynamic and sometimes over-the-top characters.

The reviews of this movie were 50/50. People either loved it or hated it. And the hate was most based on the use of the 'N' word. If you can see past that, and your a fan of Tarantino, then you will love this movie. From start to end this movie had me on the edge of my seat! There is so much to enjoy about this movie! Acting, Cinematography, how the story is told, even the soundtrack rocks. I'm not the BIGGEST, Tarantino fan, but I'm getting there. And Django is helping me to love the man even more! ALSO, As a MAN, I don't like love stories, but there is an amazing love story within the movie that every man will root for! This movie is a keeper. Worth every penny. Buy it. Watch it over and over and love it. I do.

The actual BluRay picture quality is one of the best available. The picture quality is on point without making it look overly clear and "soap-operaish", it looks like you're watching an actual film like the theaters. The movie itself is produced and directed EXTREMELY well, to go along with pristine acting and really shows you what a true Quality movie is. It is amazing how this is such an awesome movie being that it is such a simple plot and pretty straight forward. My only negative is that Tarantino tends to force you to despise the antagonist so much so that the ultra-violence the protagonist causes upon them is deemed fair and just. And the bonus features are pathetic but is a very minor issue really.

I really enjoyed this movie, more than I had any tarantino film in a long time. Of course there was gratuitous blood and language—it's tarantino—but the acting, storyline, and humor were great! Taking place circa 1860, the use of music from different times during scenes when these types of music didn't exist was hilarious, and gave me some of my most memorable scenes: riding across a field to '70's pop music, the use of hip-hop music. Good stuff!

Django Unchained is a 2012 American western film written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. Set in the antebellum era of the Deep South and Old West, the film follows a freed slave who treks across the United States with a bounty hunter on a mission to rescue his wife from a cruel plantation owner. Quentin Tarantino sure knows how to make movies, but I have never seen him make such a good movie since the Kill Bill films. Tarantino's great storytelling got me dragged deeply into the story and made me sit at the edge of my seat all the way through-out. Not only is this now one of my all time favorite films, but this is Tarantino at his best!

Love the movie and think it is really one of best movies of the year. Some people might find the violence in it a bit offensive, but I personally don't a problem with that. That is what really happened in history and it only serves to strengthen its message that atrocities like these should never happen again, the evil of slavery is an unacceptable affront to human dignity. The Oscar prizes it won are well-deserved.

Every time a promo comes out with a new QT movie I always say ah that's not my cup of tea. Then I see it and fall in love. Such a talented person.

Another Quentin Tarantino classic set in the deep south of the early 19th century. It can be considered a western except for its location, but has all the markings of days of the bounty hunters intermingled in a plot having to do with slavery and the freedom sought from its horrors. It is a story of redemption that takes a bloody path as evil is rooted out and righteousness prevails.

Tarantino's "Django" quite possibly could be his greatest movie to date. A touching story, mixed with superb acting by Foxx and DiCaprio set this film apart from his other works. It's what you would come to expect from a Tarantino film with the cinematics and violence/action/gore. A warning to some though, some scenes tned to be hard to watch for some due to the sensitive subject. Overall a great flick.

I've watched the trailer for this movie and it caught my interest. I love Quentin Tarantino films. He's one odd person but knows how to make a good interesting film. I look forward to watching this. But what brought me to buy this was, It's Steelbook case. Its so smooth and sleek. The red color on the cover is nice and vibrant.

This movie had it's ups and it's downs but it's just an overall good movie to watch with family as long as they are old enough or just not bothered by violence and gore. It was over all a really good movie but keep in mind that if you aren't a fan of Quentin Tarantino this might not be a movie for you but I would still recommend you give it a chance because you never know.

Another solid effort from film director Quentin Tarantino. The Academy gave the wrong actor the Oscar, Leo stole this movie hands down. He should have won Best Suppporting Actor over Waltz, both were amazing. Last movie I purchase from Best Buy until they ship them in a more durable packaging. This arrived damaged. Free Shipping should not mean cross your fingers and hope you receive it still intact.

It's a violent and bloody movie which takes place in the pre-Civil War South. All three leading actors were terrific, especially Jamie Fox & Christoph Waltz, and Leonardo DiCaprio is intriguing as a villain. Samuel L. Jackson is great as usual. The cinematography was terrific and there was a compelling storyline. Even though it was close to three hours long, it held your interest until the end.
