Customers are enthusiastic about the Air 2S Fly More Combo Drone's camera quality and ease of use, frequently praising its impressive features and capabilities. Many also appreciate its compact size and good battery life, although some wish for longer flight times and additional sensors. A few users noted the drone's high price point as a drawback, and some experienced challenges with wind resistance. Overall, the positive feedback on image quality and user-friendliness outweighs the concerns.

I LOVE this drone. Excellent picture and video quality. It does a pretty good job with "Active Tracking"... but it isn't near as sophisticated with its "Active Tracking" as the Skydo 2. However, it takes far better pictures and videos (higher quality) than the Skydo 2.

The Drone is AMAZING. Check where you live with FAA regulations. There are many places where you can not fly a drone. In particular I live next to the airport. I live close to a NO FLY ZONE.
Other than that, I always fire up my drone when I can get in open space.

Perspective from a first time drone owner.
This is the drone I've been waiting for. It is easy to fly, has a lot of built in safety features, has an amazing camera, and the size makes it very portable.
If you have been waiting for a drone with a pro camera at a consumer price, the wait is over.

My favorite new toy

This is the second drone that I’ve gotten from DJI and I have to say that it is by far my favorite. Ive had other drones before from less reputable brands and when I got my first real one, which was the Mavic Mini, I knew I could never go back to a lesser brand. You can pay $100-$200 for something just to play around with in the backyard with the kids, but if you really want something quality and has a ton of features, the AIR 2S is the way to go. Of course you can go with more expensive models, but for me, this one fit the bill.
I must have checked my Fedex shipping status everyday waiting for this to come and when I got it, I broke it open to see all of the nice accessories that came with the Fly More Combo. The filters, bag, extra blades and batteries in the Fly More Combo makes this set worth getting over just the standalone Air 2S. That is unless you have the Air 2, which I believe everything is compatible with this one.
Let me apologize in advance for the lengthy review, but there is just too much to write about to not give it, its just due. First, I’ll tell you about the camera sensor. I don’t really want to do a comparison review between this one and the Mavic Mini but I will just say the picture and video quality are heads and shoulders about any other model that I have flown. The clarity is unreal and the video quality is unparalleled to anything I’ve flown. I attached some photos that I took with the drone camera, which were taken on a very sunny day, without using any of the ND filters. Even without a filter, the quality is amazing. Had I not been so excited to get it up and running, I would have taken the time to figure out how to take off the filter and put a different one on that was more suitable for the conditions, but that is my fault for lacking the patience to read the user guide. The thing about these photos is that these were taken as JPEG’s, not RAW files. The RAW files are larger, but with that you get greater color detail and the ability to edit them afterwards using aftermarket software. The detail in those photos is incredible to say the least. The resolution and accurate color detail, particularly with darker shades was impressive and I was able to edit them even more using my MacBook Pro. I cant wait to take it to the Lake Erie and get some night shots of the city and the water. That is one thing I wish I could have done before writing this review.
Next, I’ll talk about the obstacle avoidance. This version can detect obstacles in front, back, upward and downward which is great for beginners and helps when you are using ActiveTrack which is another awesome feature. I was at a local park with my drone and I met a guy who was walking with his wife and he was definitely a drone guy. I asked him if I could video him and his wife while the walked down the path so that I could evaluate the tracking feature. They were all for it and waved to the drone while I was filming. There were numerous trees around the park and the drone automatically avoided them and still maintained the camera on the couple. He came back and I showed him the video and he was impressed, just as much as I was.
The AIR 2S has a range of roughly 6 miles, although I didn’t take it that far out, I never had any interference and had clear recording and photos throughout my first flight. This is probably due to the dual frequency (2.4ghz and 5.8ghz) that eliminates a lot of the interference.
I really wish I could post some of the amazing videos that I shot with this drone. I mean the features are amazing. The Hyperlapse recording is one of my favorite features for toying around. I recorded my kids playing in the backyard. Going from the trampoline to the jungle gym and just running around and the detail and clarity were much more than I expected. I had fun also using the Sphere setting while recording. I will admit I need more practice with that, but I see some epic videos in my future with that feature. It shoots the video in a circle from the highest to lowest point and still maintains clarity.
Although I was using an iPhone 11 with my controller and constantly found myself fighting with the brightness of the sun to really see what I was doing, I had a tremendous amount of fun tracking subjects and taking photos. The DJI Fly app is very intuitive and powerful. You can adjust all of the settings from maximum height and distance, to resolution, image type and various other settings. I touched the screen on my phone to select my sons running and recorded some good video. The gimbal automatically followed them and all I had to do was maintain control of the drone.
Another great use that I found for this drone is taking aerial shots of our various rental properties. I had a new roof put on one of the houses a few months ago and I was able to fly above it and check out the work that was done. We had a decent storm come through after the roof was put on and I was able to see if there was any damage done and see the quality of their work.
I can go on and on about how much I enjoy this new toy, but if you really want to see the benefits of it, you will really need to go out and get one. The only downside to using this drone in bright areas is using my phone. Although my phone has a decent display, it dampened my enjoyment a bit trying to see the screen. I would recommend getting the DJI Smart Controller if you are serious about using your drone. Its pricey and I’ve decided that I’m going to save up and purchase one. My neighbor has one for his Mavic Pro and FPV drones and he let me try it out and it is so much more superior than any phone that I can imagine using with the drone. I’ve already been dropping hints to my wife about Father’s day and my birthday coming up and what would be a great gift, so maybe I’ll get lucky. I wont hold my breath though.
I truly cant give this thing high enough praise. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking into this as a hobby or profession. I didn’t speak about the registration or classes you need to take in order to use this for business purposes, but that information is readily available online.

I have both the Air and the air 2s and the S climbs a lot faster and seems quicker responding over-all. Also much better in low light. Led's are brighter and the range and feedback from the camera is much better. Signal strength is much improved.

Fantastic drone. Upgraded camera to its predecessor makes it a worthy purchase, even though the price went up a few hundred dollars. Battery will last in “real life applications” 20 minutes, so you are best off purchasing the “fly more” combo.

The newest mid-level DJI drone is leaps and bounds better than the previous model. I found the Air 2S with the fly more combo to have everything I need for my budding career as an aerial photographer. Having owned a DJI Spark for a couple of years, this wasn't too different to get used to. At first glance, the new top sensors make it look like a Porsche which adds to my enjoyment. But they serve a purpose should you be flying forward or tracking through the woods. Obstacle avoidance was a big issue for my Spark so any new sensors are better, just wish they had side sensors so you could do those programmed shots without keeping your finger on the pause button because you worry about hitting something. Being near an airport means I have to get authorization to fly in my neighborhood; I'm happy to see how easy the Fly app let's you accomplish this, even right after registering, I received a coded text and I was good to go. From then on, I just request authorization and I get it. I like how they've managed to add more range with 1080p transmission using the new 4 antenna O3 Ocusync, now they have 10km line of sight over the previous 8km.
Opening it up and setting it next to my Spark really gives you an idea of it's size. I tried to do a fly through inside a warehouse that I had done with the smaller one only to discover lack of GPS signal causes it to drift backward and to the right causing me to clip the blades on a piece of machinery. But to my surprise, it didn't come crashing to the floor, rather it relevelled itself about 3ft from the floor and I was able to land it with only slightly dulled prop tips on the right side. I suspect this wouldn't have happened if it had side sensors, but I guess the lack thereof is what makes this a mid level unit. The Mavic Pro has side sensors, but costs considerably more and weighs an extra 3/4Lb. so I'll take it into consideration.
From what I've read, the Air 2 has a 1/2 inch image sensor and 48MP resolution, but I think that was accomplished by artificial means and the actual resolution was more like 12MP. The new Air 2S has a Mavic Pro sized 1 inch sensor and the capacity to shoot actual 5.4K video, while 4K doesn't use the whole sensor making digital zoom capable. The 20MP photos were rich and colorful, a definite step up from my Spark 12MP images. Details were surprisingly clear at full zoom. I like that I could fly manually and be able to frame an object and keep the camera both centered and focused on it, makes things easier than the ambiguity of using a preprogrammed feature unless the object is me, in which case, the active track 4.0 works out best.
New programmed features like Master Shots makes full use of the APAS 4.0 to do it's preprogrammed 2 minute combination of Dronie, circle, and flyby among other popular video footage and manage to not hit anything. Though since it has no side sensors, it travels forward and takes control of the camera gimbal to get the side view during passes, getting the propeller in the top corner of the shot. You can change this in the camera settings to composite mode, just be sure there's nothing in it's side travel because it won't see it. While I see you can record in 4K with Master Shots, rendering is in 1080P so it's cool, but probably doesn't make sense. Another cool, if albeit dizzying feature is the FPV mode basically locking the horizontal axis on the gimbal giving you the sensation of tilting with the aircraft as if you were flying it yourself. It was a bit disconcerting for me, but there's a DJI FPV drone specifically for wearing VR goggles and feeling like your in the cockpit. This unit is not compatible with that setup, but it's nice to know you could reproduce the look of it.
The Fly More bundle came with a neat little case with 4 ND filters that fit over the lens for darkening those bright summer days. Like sunglasses for your drone; I'm sure they have some more professional use, but that's one I can see. Though, one thing that really impresses me is how such a compact little unit can take such amazingly stable video with clarity even in the evening hours, I'm sure features like the Intelligent HDR and the large 1 inch image sensor that really captures the light like a professional DSLR.
There are a few negatives I have. First off the price, this is not a bargain over the previous Air 2, $200 more. But maybe it is when you consider all the updates that bring this closer in features to the $1600 Mavic 2 Pro. Lack of side sensors is huge for me. While digital zoom is passable given the large image sensor, optical zoom would've been awesome. That's it really! Oh, the video feed cut out on me while taking a Smart shot and the screen froze, fortunately the controls didn't and I was able to maneuver in for a landing. Only happened once in the few days I've used it, hope it's not a recurring issue. I love this drone and suspect if you're not hung up on Hasselblad, you will too.
