Very great and capable drone! the features are amazing on the air 3 and its very fast in order to capture amazing footage! It would’ve been a five star however for an expensive drone like this, I didn’t expect one of the light on the front of the drone to not turn on anymore. Overall, great features and performance, not so much quality.

DJI Air 3 Drone w/RC2 Controller is Top Notch

The DJI Air 3 is a top quality drone offered for great visual photography and video. The FLY MORE COMBO comes with the Air 3 drone, RC2 remote (with screen built-in), 3 smart batteries, battery charger for all 3 batteries, USB-C charging cable, 12 pairs of propellers, carrying case with shoulder strap, quick user guide/paperwork. The drone comes with a manufacturer's 1-year warranty. DISCLAIMER: This is my 3rd drone. My first was with a different manufacturer, and my 2nd drone was the Mavic 3. I have been flying for about 3-4 years. The previous 2 drones required a phone be used in order to fly, so this new Air 3 with RC2 is exactly what I have been wanting. PROS: ----------- * Great 4K pictures, of which none of the ones we post on this website will do the pictures justice. The pictures really are phenomenal. * Operation is like most other drones with the 2-joystick system and index fingers controlling video/photographs. * It gets UP in a hurry, moves quickly. * NO PHONE NEEDED. The screen is built-in to the RC2 remote. No more cables. * The display is easy to see. If used in the sun, you may need some shade. * I tested in some semi-windy conditions at a minimal altitude, and the drone held it's lat/long pretty well even when winds were hitting it at all angles. I'd still recommend to fly in little-to-no wind conditions. The last thing you want is a crash without "drone insurance"... which leads me into..... * Get the drone insurance (protection package) from DJI. If anything happens, don't let your $1000+ investment go to waste. * BATTERY LIFE in these Air 3 batteries is about 10-15 minutes better than my DJI Mavic 3. That's a huge difference when you need to be in the air longer. This is one of the biggest perks of the FLY MORE package is the battery life. * Charging cable is USB-C, not microUSB. This is a necessity these days. * Controller sticks can be stored on the rear of the controller when not in use. CONS: ----------- * In a non-authorized area, I was unable to UNLOCK using the controller due to NO NETWORK on a site not at my home. I'm unsure if the remote would connect to a hot spot after already connecting to my home wifi for updates. However, I did take my drone home and was able to UNLOCK using my phone number - I'm assuming because the controller could connect to my home WiFi. This was a bit of a nuisance for 1st-time use and not being able to fly it. * Unlike the Mavic 3, this drone does not have a complete drone holder strap that contains the legs and propellers when folded up so it can be stored in its bag without easily damaging the propellers. Because of the cramped position in the bag, I'm unsure if the propellers should be removed before putting in the bag. * Perhaps include a spare pair of controller sticks in case the set it comes with break off or get damaged. My previous DJI drone came with an extra set. * It seems like everyone may have a USB-C charger these days; however, most of mine are already in use. It would have been nice to have a USB-C wall charger in addition to the USB-C cable DJI provided. OTHER OBSERVATIONS: ----------- * There are 2 customizable buttons on the back side of the controller. The right one switches from 0-degrees to -90-degrees each time you press it (out of the box). But these can be changed in the SETTINGS menu. * There is an SD card slot on both the drone and the controller. Each one records what you are seeing on each device. Obviously, the SD card in the drone is the most important as that's where your 4K video is recording. * If you don't want to charge your batteries in the 3-port charger, you can also charge your battery in the drone itself. There is a small covered area on the rear/bottom of the drone where there is an microSD card slot and a USB-C port. Use the USB-C port for charging your battery. * The drone comes with 8GB of internal memory; however, if you do any real amount of 4K video, you'll want to get a microSD card. Be sure to get the correct CLASS of microSD card as all SD cards are not created equal. I typically lean towards the V30 and above for 4K recording. If you get anything less, your results may not be as good due to write speeds. CONCLUSION: ===================== There are a ton of reviews already out there regarding this drone's technical abilities. I wanted to address more of the physical attributes of the drone and fly more package. It would be impossible to state everything this drone can do in the limited number of characters our reviews are capped to. Just know that this is a high-quality drone, and DJI backs up their products based on my past experience. I definitely recommend, especially given the quality and battery life. Happy droning.

    Significant upgrade

DJI's latest drone, the DJI Air 3, is a game-changer in the world of aerial photography and videography. What sets this drone apart are its dual primary cameras, an extended flight time, comprehensive obstacle sensing, 4K/60fps HDR video capabilities, and top-notch video transmission. But that's not all; there's also the Fly More Combo, which takes your drone experience to the next level by providing two additional batteries, a storage case, charging cradle and extra propellers. The RC2 Controller features a high-resolution integrated screen eliminating the need for a seperate phone or tablet. This, at least for me, is a significant upgrade and makes for a much more enjoyable experience. The DJI Air 3 features not one, but two primary cameras. You have a 24mm f/1.7 wide-angle lens and a 70mm f/2.8 medium telephoto lens. What's the big deal? Well, the wide-angle lens is perfect for capturing those breathtaking landscapes and expansive shots, while the medium telephoto lens lets you get up close and personal, even from the sky. Switching between these two lenses on a drone is a novelty that opens up new creative horizons. The DJI Air 3 takes flight time seriously. With a maximum flight time of 46 minutes, it blows its predecessor, the DJI Air 2S, out of the water with a 48% increase. Why does this matter? It means more time to explore the skies, frame that perfect shot, and record stunning aerial footage. This extended flight time is a boon for anyone looking to push the boundaries of their creativity. Safety should always come first when flying a drone. The DJI Air 3 gets this right with its all-around obstacle sensing. It covers the front, back, left, right, and even upward vision systems. Plus, there's a downward vision system for added stability during your entire flight. With this level of obstacle sensing, navigating tricky environments becomes a breeze. Now, let's talk about the star of the show: the camera. The DJI Air 3's camera capabilities are a dream for videographers. Both the 24mm wide-angle and 70mm medium telephoto cameras support 4K/60fps HDR video recording. This translates to breathtaking videos with incredible detail, vivid colors, and those rich shadows and highlights that really make your footage pop. Whether you're shooting majestic landscapes or cinematic sequences, this drone's camera doesn't disappoint. The DJI Air 3's video transmission is a gem. It's equipped with a six-antenna array that significantly improves video transmission performance. This means you can enjoy a stable 1080p/60fps live feed from up to 20 kilometers away. You remain connected, and your videos stay smooth and sharp, even when the drone is quite a distance away. RC2 Controller - A Game Changer: DJI has truly outdone themselves with the RC2 Controller. It features a high-resolution integrated screen, eliminating the need for a phone to control your drone. This high-quality display provides a clear and convenient interface for flying, framing your shots, and accessing advanced flight features. It's a significant convenience that streamlines your drone experience. The DJI Air 3 is for those who are passionate about taking their aerial content to new heights. With its dual cameras, extended flight time, advanced obstacle sensing, 4K/60fps HDR video capabilities, and top-notch video transmission, it offers a toolkit that both professionals and enthusiasts will love. With the Fly More Combo and the RC2 Controller, you'll have everything you need to fully unleash your creativity in the skies. If you're ready to elevate your aerial photography and videography game, the DJI Air 3 is a fantastic choice that brings it all together.

    What a way to fly

DJI is known for making great drones, and in my opinion, I think the DJI Air 3 might be their best one yet for the price point. Out of the box you get a nice soft carrying case. Out of the carrying case you get the drone, a remote with a screen, a charger with two extra batteries, propellers, extra propellers, a USB-C charging cable, and manuals. I like how everything was packaged all inside of the carrying case. Now, before you start anything, you will need to charge your drone, and the remote at minimum. If you want to enjoy a long flight time, charge the extra batteries as well. If you don’t own another DJI drone, then you’ll want to download the app. There’s a QR code on the packaging, so you shouldn’t miss it. The app has a lot of good starter features, you can connect your phone to a remote; this is useful for saving videos during flight. It has a pretty robust video editing tools, and more. Once everything is charged, and you’ve created an account on the DJI app, now it’s turn to turn on your drone, your remote, and… Download the most recent firmware and wait for it to hit 100% and watch as the drone and remote update and reset and reconnect. That’s the part I forgot about when I turned everything on for the first time. Nothing like having that excitement dashed with updates. I did have a little hiccup. When the update reached 100%, the remote turned off, and then it turned on again and froze. I thought I would have to download the update again. Luckily, I just turned off the remote and turned it on, and it got me to the main screen. You’ll be asked to perform some very minor assembly as the propellers will have to be attached to the drone. The manual has a very easy description on how to and where to attach all four propellers. I absolutely love the remote. The screen is clear, it’s a touchscreen too (Not impressed by this, will go into more detail soon), the thumb sticks are tucked on the back of the remote which is a nice design touch. And you have three speed settings, a cinema, neutral, and fast. I prefer the cinema because it’s easier to control and you get great video and photos. I do have a gripe with the touch screen. For some reason it’s hit or miss for me. When I was going through the initial start up settings, I would hit an option and it would take three of four tries for it to register. The touch screen works well when I press the take off and land buttons, so at least that’s good. I wish there was a physical button for the take off and land. Sporting a six-antenna array, you’ll have a stable video transmission. You can rely on it having a constant 1080p/60FPS live feed for about up to 20 km. This all equates to a better viewing experience in real time during your flight. You have a lot of options at your disposal. You can change the ISO, the shutter speed, MP, you can also change what the extra buttons on the back and shoulder do. The remote gives you a lot of warnings that you should heed before taking off. If you forget to take the front cover off, it will tell you that the gimbal is overloaded (Yes, I’ve done that so I have experience). When you’re ready for your initial flight, set the propellers legs to flight mode, place the drone on a steady plane, and press the take off button. You’ll see a secondary take off button which you’ll have to hold for about 2 seconds. That’s a great safety measure as you wouldn’t want for the drone’s propellers to start spinning because you accidentally hit the take off button once. Once the drone is in the air, the sky is yours. The drone is really responsive, even at great heights. The photos that I took will give you a nice impression of how high the drone was flying at. You have all of the necessary movement options; up, down, forward, back, side to side, and turns. With a max flight time of about 46 minutes, you’ll be able to own the skies without worrying about having it return to home to swap out a battery. Once again, the drone is very responsive. If you’ve never flown one before, I recommend cinema mode, then once you have a nice feel for it, fast mode. You can also change the thumb sticks configuration on the remote. You’ll want to insert a micro SD card with a high transfer speed into either the drone of the remote to record of snap some photos. (Not included). If you insert a micro SD card with a slow transfer rate, you’ll see a warning pop up on the screen letting you know. From my testing, using a slow transfer card will result in some lag on the video capture. The gimbal on the camera works well, and maintains a steady hold even when in high speeds. One of the scarier things about flying a drone is worrying whether it will hit an object/obstacle and dive towards the earth. DJI’s engineers installed omnidirectional sensing. Omni being the key word here means that it has sensors that monitor in real time when it’s close to an obstacle in front, the rear, the sides, going up, and coming back down, so you can fly with a better peace of mind. The video and photos are absolutely stunning. If you place all of the video/photo settings at high, the file sizes will be large. So I recommend getting at least a 128 GB micro SD. The wide angle dual cam offers a beautiful spread of a scene. All of my photos utilized the wide angle, and it covered so much. With a plethora of cameras, you can get awesome wide shots, of tight closer shots. 4K at 60FPS offers beautiful shots. Once you transfer your video to a 4K monitor or TV, you’ll feel immersed in what you captured. This is a great drone for a beginner or a pro. It can be a little intimidating if this is your first drone, but with some practice, it will be like second nature. All in all, a great drone, lots of useful accessories, great flight times, and an awesome remote.

I flew the drone the first couple of times with no issues. The last flight, the drone made it almost back to the landing pad, but then shut down with no warning. This was at a couple hundred feet in elevation. It came crashing down busting it up from one end to the other. This happened on the day after it was eligible for return to Best Buy. I so with i would have bought this through Amazon. Their return policy would have been extremely well worth it. $1500 later, i have learned my painful lesson. Never again from best buy.

In the DJI line-up, I have only owned the Minis. Specifically 2 and 3. While I was happy with what they offered, each was always missing one or two features I really wanted, but I understood the sacrifice associated with the size of the drone. Lately, the one feature I've seen advance is Active Tracking. The closest mini was the 3 Pro, but it came without the lateral avoidance sensors which hindered flight paths. So, that led me to wanting to step-up a class. It was between a Skydio 2+ and the Air 3. With Skydio exiting the consumer drone business and seeing the advancements of the Air 3, it was easy to choose. If you're coming from Minis, this is roughly twice the size. It still feels portable, but will need Faa registration. Like the models before, quality and build feel great. No worries flying this one in tougher winds. In all of the drones I've owned, DJI and others, this was the easiest box to flight I've ever experienced. After the updates, literally connected in seconds, and off we went. Immediately in flight, the usefulness of 360 sensors became evident. I live near a group of tress and no matter the direction, I received ample warning of clearance. Now, the main ticket, the active track. Better than I hoped. My last full size drone did a decent job of tracking, but when sprinting, I would outrun it and it would never reconfigure properly. The Air 3, is on it. I feel comfortable going any way and have it keep position. Front, back, side, doesn't matter, it stays where you put it! Couldn't be happier. Camera is sharp and clean, and the video from drone to controller is still lag free. Battery lives up to expectations. I've packed this drone up for a trip, and will be looking to do some more "riskier" shots. With the stability and quality of this drone, I have no worries.

DJI Air 3, My New Favorite Drone!

I have been flying DJI drones since the summer of 2015 and I currently own four of their consumer drones: Phantom 3 Pro, Mavic 3, Avata, and my latest acquisition an Air 3. In eight years, I’ve watched DJI drone hardware and software just keep getting better and better. My new Air 3 does things out of the box that I couldn’t even dream of doing with my Phantom 3 drone back in 2015. In my opinion, DJI has rightfully earned their place as the world leader in consumer drones. The DJI Air 3 Fly More Combo contains everything that you need to get started flying. Plus, extras like two additional batteries with a 3-battery sequence charger, two additional sets of propellers, an additional pair of joysticks for the RC 2 Remote Controller, camera/gimbal protector, and a USB-C cable. The Air 3 Fly More Combo comes packaged in a high-quality storage case/backpack that keeps everything nestled securely in place. NOTE: To save all your photos and videos, you will need to have a large capacity and a very fast read/write microSDXC card available to install in your Air 3. The Air 3 only has 8 GB of onboard storage which will fill up in much less than a minute when shooting 4K videos. The DJI website lists recommended microSD cards that write fast enough to handle the heavy data stream coming from the drone’s cameras. I have two Extreme PLUS, 512GB, A2, V30, microSDXC cards that I keep for exclusive use with the Air 3. I use cards with 140 MB/s or higher write speeds to keep up with the data stream coming from the cameras. The setup was simple. First, charge all three of your intelligent drone batteries and your RC2 Remote Controller as they are shipped from DJI nearly completely discharged for safety reasons. Then, install a fully charged battery in your drone and power it up along with your RC2 Remote Controller. When DJI prepares Fly More Combos, they pre-link the aircraft and the remote controller so they will automatically connect with each other when you power them up. At this point the built-in viewing screen on the RC2 Remote Controller will tell you if any firmware needs to be updated. You will need to give the RC2 Remote Controller your Wi-Fi connection information. If firmware updates are needed, allow the updates to start and completely finish. Make sure you install each of the other two intelligent batteries into the drone in case the battery firmware needs to be updated. After that you should be ready to fly. One of the features I love most about the Air 3 Fly More Combo is the RC2 Remote Controller’s built-in display screen. I so enjoyed not having to install my cell phone like I have to do for my Mavic 3’s remote controller that I decided I’m going to buy a DJI RC for my Mavic 3. The DJI RC has a built-in screen and uses the O3+ Video Transmission which is what the Mavic 3 uses. I think I’ll ask my wife to give me that for Christmas. Another feature I really liked about the RC2 Remote Controller are the two threaded holes at each end of the front of the remote-control body. These two anchor points allow you to screw in swivel mounts for a neck strap. I had already purchased a neck strap and mounts prior to my drone’s arrival. I have a disability with my hands and this neck strap removed all of my worry about dropping my remote control while flying. Thank you DJI designers and engineers for recognizing the need for neck strap anchor points. The Air 3 specifications state a maximum 46-minute flight time. I came somewhat close to that with each 100% charged battery I installed. Generally, the DJI Fly App will force you to land before your battery runs completely out. So, most of my sorties would usually end around 38 to 40 minutes. Of course, that will vary with your flight experiences. I was curious as to how long the Air 3 would stay airborne hovering in still air so, I ran an indoor hover test starting with a 100% fully charged battery. After hovering for 38 minutes and 35 seconds in the still air of my living room, the Air 3 issued a forced landing. I decided that was reasonably close to the Max Hovering Time of 42 minutes listed in the Air 3 specifications. In the DJI Air 3 User Manual, it states the aircraft has a maximum flight speed of 47 mph. So, I thought I’d push my Air 3 as fast as it could go. I put it in Sport Mode and flew as fast as possible and I maxed out at 43 mph. I wasn’t disappointed with that speed because it was a breezy day and I’m not sure which direction the wind was blowing relative to the drone. I may have had a partial headwind. I’m not saying the Air 3’s Omnidirectional Obstacle Sensing capability makes me a careless drone pilot. But I will say it goes a long way in removing my anxiety and fear of flying something as expensive as the Air 3 around obstacle hazards. But during my evaluation of the Air 3, I still did not have the courage to try and fly it blindly through a forest like they do in one of the videos on the DJI website. Before my new Air 3 drone arrived, I purchased an anti-collision light so I could fly the drone at night for the first time in my life now that the FAA allows night flying. As I was making my first landing at night, the Auxiliary Light on the underside of the Air 3 came on when I was about 20 feet above my landing pad. For a second, I didn’t know what was happening when the entire area beneath the drone was suddenly bathed in a bright white light. Once my night vision returned, I realized that I must have missed that feature when I was reading the DJI Air 3 User Manual. I found the Air 3’s Return to Home landing accuracy is not quite as precise as my Mavic 3, which will land in exactly the same spot from where it took off every time. My Air 3’s Return to Home accuracy is always off by a couple of feet usually missing my weighted landing pad. No big deal, just something I noticed. There’s no doubt the new O4 HD Video Transmission link between the Air 3 and the RC2 Remote Controller allows for some impressive range increases. But, while I had no desire to risk testing the limits of the Air 3’s 20 km max range, I did fly my new Air 3 out to about 2 miles with confidence. Farther than I ever had the courage to fly before. My signal strength only dropped by one bar at 2 miles out and that’s with a rise in terrain between the remote control and the drone. I had hoped the new O4 HD Video Transmission would help me break out of the high-voltage power line box surrounding my neighborhood. I’ve never been able to fly my Mavic 3 past the power lines before the O3+ Video Transmission link would begin to degrade. But, even at the maximum 400 feet altitude the high-voltage power lines still degraded the O4 signal to the point where I had to quickly return home. Just a small disappointment on my part because of the power line situation surrounding my neighborhood. When it comes to videography and photography, the medium tele and wide-angle cameras on the Air 3 do not disappoint. I was particularly impressed with the zoom features between the two cameras. To demonstrate the zoom feature, I uploaded three images (1x, 3x, and 9x zoom) of a small field pond just north of my neighborhood. I was also extremely surprised by the Air 3’s night videography and photography ability. I uploaded a picture of my neighborhood taken about an hour after dark that looks more like it was taken at twilight. My wife and I agree that DJI’s Air 3 is a blast to fly. We are both disabled, but in different ways. She’s in a wheelchair but has good hands. I can walk and drive but have poorly functioning hands. So, we complement each other when flying the drones and we enjoy our drone time together immensely. It gives this old, retired couple a reason to get out of the house. I can recommend the DJI Air 3 Fly More Combo to anyone who wants to enjoy the experience of a high-quality consumer drone.

The DJI Air 3 is a perfect, mid-level drone for those who don’t need all the professional bells & whistles of the top-of-the-line (and price tag) Mavic, but don’t want to sacrifice good quality photo and video images lost with the lower-end Mini, along with loss of other features like collision avoidance. Note: I’m an FAA Part 107 certified drone pilot, so I’ve picked apart a lot of the issues for a detailed review. What stands out, however, about the Air 3 is the new 45-minute flight time battery (optimum condition), which blows every other DJI drone out of the water, and with the Fly More combo now gives you over 2 hours of flight time without having to buy another battery or stop to recharge once. Having owned a Phantom 4 Pro and a Mini 2, both capped at 30-minute batteries, this a complete game changer for those of us looking to spend a full day working on capturing video. There are specific pros, and very specific cons. I’ll list those in bullet format with elaboration for ease of reading… Pros: - O4 transmission: Now gives you “up to 20km (12.5 miles)” of transmission distance between remote & drone. The FAA limits you to line-of-sight, so no way to easily test this, but I did test this to almost a full mile out, and had ZERO drop out in either drone navigation or the video transmission back to the screen. On the Mini & other drones, I routinely got pixelation & complete dropouts of both video & signal, causing drone return-to-home. This is the best transmission quality I’ve seen. - New DJI RC 2: Uses the Occusync 4.0 to give you that great distance, but also incorporates the video feed into remote, meaning no more pairing your phone & trying to hang it off the top of the controller. Everything is now all-in-one. - Two cameras: Give you 2 different options for shooting videos – wide angle and a standard angle with zoom capability. - Extremely stable in wind: The first day I tested it, I did so in 24mph winds and barely noticed any issues with stability. The only thing I noticed was a slower travel speed in headwinds. - New adaptive “Return to Home” (RTH): Previous RTH was set to automatically stop, ascend to the set altitude, then return to the start point, and descend, eating a lot of battery, especially if you’re already low. New adaptive RTH will now ascend only to the height needed to safely RTH, no matter the RTH height set. But it will not exceed the height you have set, so safest to set this to 400’ (max height allowed in the US). - Full 360-degree collision avoidance: Unlike the previous Mini, the Air 3 has full 360-degree collision avoidance, plus avoidance downward. Options can be set in the software to either avoid & move around an object or stop and let the pilot choose a path. - Underbelly Scene Light: There is a bright LED on the underbelly for lighting either camera shots (straight down) or landing. - Remote ID Built In: With the FAA requiring “Remote ID” for drones over 249 grams starting next year, this is already built in. No firmware update or hardware installation needed. Cons (yes, there are some): - The camera touts an option for 12mp or 48mp options, but the only real option is 12mp. The 48mp is reached through an AI algorithm that essentially up-qualities the photo to give you a fake 48mp. - The controller does not come with any spare knobs. Previous “Fly More” packages came with at least 1 spare set of screw-on set of knobs for the controller. The knobs screw off for storing the controller in the case, and only store using a rubber holder on the back of the controller, and have the ability to fall out. Do yourself a favor & order a spare set off DJI or Amazon right now. - The soft-sided carrying case does not protect the propeller studs, and the seem to drag going in & out of the case, risking bending and breaking them over time. I’d like to have seen caps for the prop studs to protect them for the tight space the drone goes into in the case. - (Not really a con, just a note): It is over 249g, so legally you DO have to register it with the FAA’s DroneZone website. While this was a “you really should” in the past, with Remote ID going live, note that you can now be tracked publicly by anyone, including the FAA. If you’re not registered, you can be fined for not registering your drone. It costs $5 for 3 years, so just do it. It’s better than the fine. Beyond the pros & cons, DJI’s built-in features include the usual, including different modes for speeds for the drone, the ability to load a pre-set waypoints for the drone to follow & launch it into an “auto pilot” mode to follow autonomously (previously only available on Mavic and Phantom Pro), and multiple pre-set scenes if you’re not sure how to start off or are just looking for a quick shot without manually setting all your camera settings. Summary: The Air 3 is an amazing drone with almost every feature of the more expensive Mavic series at a more affordable price point, with great flight time.

The DJI Air 3 Fly More Combo Drone is a remarkable piece of technology that truly excels in many aspects, providing an exceptional aerial photography and videography experience. As a cinematographer in my spare time, this is a godsend. Shots that would typically require some crazy rig to get can now be replaced by this amazing drone. For most amateurs-professionals, this is the new default. I’m so excited to start using it on my next film set and I know I am going to get incredible footage out of it. Pros: Beautiful Video Quality: The DJI Air 3 delivers stunning video quality with both its wide-angle and medium telephoto lenses. The 10-bit log footage ensures excellent color grading options for professional videographers. Strong Connection: With its RC-2 controller, this drone maintains a robust connection, allowing for smooth and uninterrupted flights, even at distances of up to 12 miles (1080/60p). I never once worried about losing connection, even when I had it at such high altitudes (on top of the already high Colorado altitude). Large Learning Library in App: The app features a wealth of tutorials and educational materials, making it an excellent choice for both beginners and experienced drone pilots. Everything from your basic how to fly videos to how to get artsy shots. Fly More Bundle Extras: The Fly More Combo is packed with essential accessories, including extra batteries, propellers, a carrying case, and more. This bundle is a must if you are thinking about buying this, the added value is STRONG. 10-Bit Log Footage from Both Lenses: The ability to capture 10-bit log footage from both the wide-angle and medium telephoto lenses provides advanced post-processing flexibility for colorists and editors like myself. Great Battery Life: With up to 46 minutes of flight time, the DJI Air 3 offers exceptional endurance, allowing you to capture more content on a single charge. Incredible Set of Features: From the basics like robust obstacle avoidance to smart flight modes like FocusTrack which keeps your subject in focus during movement, to Quickshot which has several cool presets for fun videos. Photography and Videography Chops: The 48MP cameras, featuring both wide-angle and medium telephoto lenses, are capable of producing high-quality images and videos, catering to both photography and videography enthusiasts. Tutorials Built Into Software: The built-in tutorials walk you through how to operate the drone effectively and maximize its capabilities from the get go. Waypoints Support: The introduction of Waypoints support on the Air series is a significant enhancement for mission planning and creating complex flight paths for capturing stunning footage. Cons: FAA Approval Required: The drone's size places it just above the weight limit requiring FAA approval for flight. This means you'll need to comply with additional regulations, take the test, and pay a small fee every couple years. Language Issue with Tutorial Videos: The fact that tutorial videos are typically in Chinese with auto-generated English subtitles can be frustrating for users who prefer more comprehensive English-language tutorials. When you turn on English audio, it is also auto-generated and can be difficult to understand at times. Slight Image Quality Discrepancy: While the 70mm lens delivers crisp and sharp images, the 24mm lens doesn't quite match up in terms of image quality. It’s minimal, but there is a difference.

Over the last 6 years I have owned a lot of different kind of drones, and I am amazed on how good they have become. I love my DJI mini-2, but I wanted a little larger drone with more accident avoidance and better battery life. My previous drones required goggles and my phone, so having the remote controller connected directly to the drone was great. Unlike my Mini-2, I had to install the propellers. The drone has a great quality feel, but I noticed I would touch the cameras/sensors on the bottom during handling. I carry my sunglass bag with me to clean off my fingerprints. Cameras I am not too particular about image quality, but was very happy with the image quality of my photos and videos I captured. I would still recommend lens filters if you are serious about your photo quality since this drone does not include them. I did not notice a huge difference between the two main lenses, other than the zoom, but most of my flying was completed in broad daylight. It was a nice feature to have two lenses with slightly different focal lengths instead of zooming in/out. One awesome feature I discovered was the ability to connect the drone to my phone and download the photos/videos wirelessly using the DJI app. Batteries DJI has done amazing things with the 3 included batteries. First, I received over 35 minutes of real flight time before I got nervous and brought it back in. Second, you can use the battery case as a charger for other devices. And third, you can move charge from one battery to another to extend flight time. Flying I tried many of the flying features such as the waypoint, but will mostly use the active track during various activities. I was only interested in using the drone in normal mode and not cinematic, but it is worth noting that using sport mode turns off accident avoidance. Speaking of accident avoidance, it is awesome. I actually tried to get the drone to run into tree branches during active track and even got the courage to try to fly it into a tree. I was amazed that the drone was able to find a safe way to keep moving forward and even stopped flying when it determined the area was too narrow to find a path to travel. I even tried to land the drone on a bush and the drone just slowed down to a hoover and would not budge. Negative point The only negative point I could find about this drone is that the remote is not backwards compatible with my other DJI drones. If I want to bring more than one drone with me, I will be forced to bring a separate remote for each of my drones. I would highly recommend this drone and this bundle. Unless you are a pro-drone photographer/videographer, this drone will meet and exceed any needs/expectations. The only thing you may want to add are the lens filters.

I have had previous drones but never such an advanced drone with as many features as tis one. There was so much to play with that I can only focus on what stood out for me. SETUP The setup out of the box was very simple, all I had to do was charge the batteries and the remote. It took longer to register and bind my drone to my account. The drone feels very light but it feels very well built, there are no parts hat feel flimsy or weak. REMOTE The remote touch screen is very responsive when it comes to registering the touch in the right spot. The screen is very bright, very big and holds all the information you need on the screen. The menu system is very intuitive and it is easy to flow to different settings easily. The remote does need a sunscreen on realy sunny days because the visibility is very difficult. BATTERY The battery life was not disappointing at all, it is advertised for 46min and i was able to pull 40-43min of use per battery, some days was less approximately 36min but those were on very windy days where the drone was fighting the wind to hover to capture the photos i wanted. FEATURES The feature i constantly played with was active track and spotlight 2.0, the active track takes some getting used to in the sense that it had slight issues if there were branches or obstructions that would cover the subject momentarily, the drone would lose the subject and hover but it would reacquire the subject shortly. The spotlight feature worked great, it provided great pictures and took a lot of the work out of framing the subject, i'm still getting used to the responsiveness of the drone in flight. I can't wait to take advantage of the waypoint flight feature, i can't wait to update the review after having used the feature more. VIDEO/PHOTO The pic/video look extremely amazing, the 4k jumps off the screen. The colors looks fresh and vibrant, i was blown away by the quality of the video. It has so many nice features that i took the video for granted because it always looked good in every setting. The RTH, the return to home feature allows me to fly it with less stress knowing i have it set to return when the battery is low. It really is way more drone than i need which ensures that it will provide countless hours of learning new features, playing with the features and hopefully mastering the features and flying the drone. I am happy DJI provides a ton of tutorials on their website, I was intimidated to fly this drone but several tutorials later and the nerves all but went away.
