The dji Avata 2 is a FVP built for reality and fun. I am still pretty much a beginner when it comes to camera drones and really liked how the dji app took me through the process of regulations, requirements, setup and into the beginner training videos. The app introduced me to The Recreational UAS Safety Test (TRUST) program which I went through in under 30 minutes and passed a series of quizzes to receive a Completion Certificate. The course educated me on the basis regulations of flying drones. I saved this certificate on my phone in case I am ever asked for it while out flying the Drone. I followed the tutorials on unboxing the drone and setting it up. This bundle “Fly More Combo (three batteries)” consists of a nice Aircraft with an onboard camera, dji Goggles 3, a RC Motion 3 controller, three (3) Flight Batteries with a Charging Hub, and a Sling Bag for carrying and storing the Drone equipment. It also came with a few extras which includes four (4) replacement Spare Propellers, a Screwdriver Wrench, a Lanyard for the Controller, Corrective Lenses, a Forehead Pad if needed to hold the Goggles out from the face, a couple of essential cables, and a manual. The dji Goggles 3, the RC Motion 3 Controller, and the battery hub with all three batteries needed to be fully charged which took more than three (3) hours, but since I left it charging, I am not sure of the exact number of hours that it actually took for all items to reach fully charged capacity. After the batteries in all components were charged, I powered each of the devices on and paired them with the Aircraft in a sequence of first the dji Goggles 3 and then the RC Motion 3 controller. Through the app I was able to update all firmware. Next the videos took me through the steps of calibrating the Drone and then I watched a couple of videos for beginners before taking off. The Aircraft started smoothly and was noticeably quiet. The dji Goggles 3 allow for a complete 150-degree view of what the Aircraft sees. In many respects this simulates the actual feel of flying. The clarity of the camera’s video is surprisingly really good. There is 46 GB of memory storage on board for .jpg and videos, and a slot for either a Micro SDHC or SDXC. A feature that I really like about the dji Goggles 3 is the ability to go to setting on the Display and enable PIP. I feel much more comfortable with this setting because it allows me to see what the Aircraft sees and simultaneously what is in my own field of vision. At first, I stayed low to the ground as I tried to get accustomed to using the RC Motion 3 controller. I played with my West Highland Terriers by hovering over their play area and moving up and down. I was impressed by the Aircraft’s ability to stay constant while hovering and extremely impressed by the smooth landing it makes and how after landing, the Aircraft immediately shuts itself off. I am going to need much practice with the Motion3 controller because I continue to find it hard to maintain smooth control of the Aircraft, and consequently this results in the video being shaky and of mediocre quality. I know that this Drone is capable of much better because it is equipped with a 12-megapixel 4K video frame rate camera of 2160p @ 60 FPS whose clarity is good. There is an additional accessory that does not come in this bundle that I am going to end up purchasing. The DJI FVP Remote Controller 3, which retails at $199, would give me the control of the Aircraft that I really want for the video results that I would like to produce. After practicing with the Motion 3 controller and becoming more versed in using it to control the Aircraft, I moved up and out but kept the Drone within my visual sight. Using the dji Goggles 3, I was able to see in real time as if I were above taking the video of parts of the farm next door and the surrounding neighborhood. Each battery lasts just a little under 30 minutes so after 22-24 minutes I made sure to bring the Aircraft back. The Drone is equipped with a couple of precautionary features to help save it if it becomes lost. The Return Home feature is reassuring to some degree if the Aircraft does not have a crash, or its battery does not run down before it is asked to Return Home. The other notable feature is Find My Drone which is based on GPS location. I really like the stability of this Aircraft because the propellers are more protected than on other designs in that the body of the Aircraft is structurally built around each propeller. The Drone has a one (1) year warranty. DJI offers a 1-year Care Refresh Plan and a 2-year Care Refresh Plan which do cover a set number of replacements in the event of a crash or lost drone. The 1-year Care Refresh Plan is also renewable up to an additional year. I think that both plans are reasonably priced at $59 and $99 and not a bad investment if the Drone is going to be used much at all. The company gives a window of us to 48 hours after activating the drone for purchase. I most definitely give the dji Avata 2 four (4) stars. I would give it five (5) stars for sure if the Motion 3 controller allowed for more precise control of the Aircraft. I just find it hard to have control of the Aircraft and maneuver it where you want it to go with the Motion 3 controller and feel that a better controller should have been included in this otherwise great bundle.

As someone who enjoys building my own FPV quadcopters, there is a lot of value in this package. For anyone wishing to start the FPV experience with higher quality gear and little risk of crash damage beyond repair, it doesnt get much better than this offering. This rig will allow you to start with training wheels and progress step by step up to manual flight while enjoying arguably the best camera and goggle experience available today. Comparable goggles fully outfitted typically cost upwards of $600 and any RTF drone equipped with an 03 air pack camera system will start at $500, none of which offer the options / functions of the Avata 2 and nothing remotely compares to the flight time per battery. No other ready to fly FPV drones offer insurance against fly away loss or crash damage for $50 per year, no doubt still a better deal for DJI considering the reliability of these machines. Politics aside, dollar for dollar, unless you're already a highly skilled FPV pilot, it is hard to imagine anyone outgrowing their use for an Avata 2. The only real downside I have discovered is that DJI hasn't yet released software to make the goggles 3 compatable with their 03 air units to use in my custom built quadcopters, but I fully expect such an update to be released in the near future.

The DJI Avata 2 is an FPV drone that combines performance and creativity. Its 4K camera provides stabilized footage with accurate colors and a wide cinematic perspective, while the new O4 transmission allows for smooth, low-latency control. Using the Goggles 3 and Motion Controller 3 creates a natural and immersive flying experience. Its lightweight construction and built-in prop guards enhance safety in confined areas. With approximately 18–20 minutes of flight time and ample internal storage, it offers a solid option for both newcomers and experienced users.

This is so much better than the first Avata! A1. Less noise! My ears can't thank DJI enough! 1. Better image quality - you can see details in the shadows 2. The SD card and USB port are actually accessible. 3. Longer flight time. 4. Better battery design and removal of the battery wobbly bits. 5. Morse stability. 6. Looks cooler. 7. Goggles are improved- less light leaks, gimmicks aside(PIP). 8. Joystick is better, but still is useless to me. 9. The included case is a plus for once. 10. Increased video memory, like doubled - for when you forget your SD card. Cons 1. Less durable. 2. Not self-repairable 3. Goggles are kinda gimicky. 4. Can't buy extra batteries, yet. 5. The garbage joystick is included when you really want a normal controller.

To make it simple, once it's set up and you're familiar with how the motion controller works, it's as ready as point where you want the drone to go, and it does. The goggles have a built in diopter, for people that wear glasses/contacts so you don't have to worry about about clarity. The headset is very light weight and didn't cause me any neck pain, which i do get while wearing a VR headset. As i said my mom, who can barely use the internet was able to fly this drive after a few minutes of being shown how the motion controller works. To me this is what i expect when i think about flying drone. It's fast easy to use. It can do flips (front, back and barrel rolls) while it's flying and you can take pictures and video from the deone as well as what you see in the headset which shows the drone info! Highly recommend, even if it's your first drone.

Easy to use out of the box. Definitely need multiple batteries because you are going to want to fly this a lot. The motion controller is a lot easier to use than I thought. It goes exactly where you point it to. After an hour of practice, I was able to fly in pretty tight spaces. Camera is best for shooting action videos. This isn't for taking nice pics. Also used this drone to find my dog. Works great for that. Range isn't as good as they advertise but still good. The headset works really good and fits a variety of head sized.

I just got my first FPV drone, and I love it! As a beginner, I was worried it would be hard to use, but it turned out to be great. Setting it up was easy, and the controls are simple to get used to. The joystick is very responsive, making it easy to fly. The goggles give an amazing immersive experience, and it feels like you're right there with the drone. The drone is built strong and flies smoothly. The battery lasts a good amount of time, so you can fly for a while without stopping. Overall, this FPV drone is perfect for both beginners and experienced flyers. It's easy to use, and the experience with the goggles is amazing. I highly recommend it!

Technically I'm rounding up. I think it deserves a 4.5. I'm just a newbie hobbyist though. The Avata 2 is very light. So much so that I feel they could have gotten the weight below 2.50g. Given the weight and the body type it doesn't handle wind as well as it could. The motion sensor has a much greater learning curve that I imagined. As for the positives? Everything else was impressive to me. It's very responsive and zippy. The goggle's picture in picture feature is what I wanted and it does not disappoint. The camera is very good as well. It was a great birthday gift to myself.

I loved the DJI AVATA 2 drone, it exceeded my expectations, easy to fly, fast and the goggles are very good. The combo was excellent with 3 batteries, I just missed the charger that does not come with the product, I had to buy it directly from DJI with 100W to quickly charge the smart batteries, since with a 20W that I was using it took a whole night to charge the 3 batteries.

The DJI Avata 2 is a significant improvement over the DJI FPV and the Avata 1 (original). While the previous releases were very noisy and had a very annoying high-pitched tone, the new Avata 2 is much quieter and has a lower less intrusive tone. The goggles are much more comfortable to wear as they no longer place pressure on the bridge of your nose. Additionally, they are no light leaks while wearing them. The video quality of the drone is improved and on par with the DJI Air 3 camera drone. The new Motion Controller 3 is smaller and easier to hold and use. Using this new controller really makes the experience immersive. I would even recommend this drone to beginners, since it that easy and intuitive to fly in Normal mode. Definitely get the Fly More Combo that includes 3 batteries, the battery hub and carry bag. One battery will not satisfy you when flying this awesome cinewhoop-style drone.

DJI continues to outdo themselves in the drone and especially the FPV drone world and the DJI Avata 2 is no exception. I have worked my way up from the DJI Mavic Air, Air 2, FPV, and now the Avata 2 and the Avata 2 has blown me away so far. Out of all the DJI drones I have worked with, the Avata 2 is easily the most robust, heavy duty, streamlined, but also drastically lighter in weight. As I was unboxing the Avata 2 I noticed that DJI has even drastically improved their packaging and the case the drone comes with. As a photographer I have always appreciated a nice gear bag, and I really appreciate the bag that came with my DJI Mavic Air 2, but the bag for the Avata 2 has blown me away, it comes already stocked with all the extra accessories and is organized for you so opening it all up and going through everything feels like christmas morning. Setting up this drone was very easy starting with just charging the goggles, controller, and three drone batteries in their docking station. The first charges took a while so do not expect to be able to fly this within minutes of taking it out of the box. Once charged the activation process was fairly simple, as an android user the app gave me some difficulties. My phone was blocking the download of the app that was needed to activate the drone, but I was able to use a different browser on my phone and got it downloaded, from there it was smooth sailing. As far as flying this drone, the joystick has been a harder learning curve than I was expecting. Since all of my previous drone flying experience was done with a two handed controller and all the controls have been the same across all models, all of a sudden having a one handed control/joystick has been different. I think I prefer the two handed controller and hopefully DJI offers that option in the future for operators that are used to this control method. I did enjoy the Head Tracking Mode though as that was new to me it was pretty easy to get the hang of. The battery life is satisfactory, especially compared to older models. This price point may seem a bit much but for all the accessories and spare pieces DJI includes in this Fly More Combo, it is worth it, there are really no other accessories or items you will need to buy and the fact that it all fits compactly in its case that I love is so nice. This drone will be great for both new drone pilots and also veteran drone pilots who are looking for something different. I am only giving 4 stars due to the joystick controller and not a standard controller option in the fly more kit.

Can't say enough good things about this. I build and fly my own custom Freestyle 5" Quadcopters. I like to have a drone like this around so when I lose an RC Plane, Quadcopter, or something else in the large flying field that I use, I can find it easily without having to 'guess' at where it might be. I've found quite a few other uses for it as well. Do I think it should cost anywhere near as much as it does? No... Do I think it's worth buying and has paid for itself by finding my (and other pilots) RC planes time and time again? Yes. It gives a small taste of what real FPV flying is like. If you want to get into REAL fpv (using acro mode, etc...) then this can help you get used to flying in manual mode, but DO NOT rely on this as an actual freestyle drone. It is not that. If you have the money, use this as a start and move onto the better suited, more resilient, custom made, hobby quality RC quadcopters as quickly as you can. If you can't afford it, don't buy it with the assumption that this is the only way to learn how to fly FPV freestyle.

It is very user friendly. As my first drone it outperformed my expectations and was very exhilarating to experience. It had my heart racing in turbo mode, and once you get used to the controls you realize they are very intuitive and can achieve maneuverability after a few practice runs. I bought the extra batteries as a safety precaution so I would be able to return home at 50% and not risk an emergency landing (even though I have Total Tech). The extra battery packs have kept me from having range anxiety and indeed kept my Avata 2 from having an emergency landing so I highly recommend them. The FPV experience is so real and the control is simply intuitive and why I leaned towards the Avata series.

This drone is FANTASTIC! It's not only a great way to get into FPV for a beginner, as the Motion controller makes it super easy. I have crashed into a ton of stuff trying to make risky gaps for a good video - the Avata 2 has crashed into trees and the inside of branches and still hovered, allowing me to turn around and fly out. Despite smashing into concrete while trying to fly into a doorway, it didn't crack or break anything, I was shocked! This is an extremely fun drone and I highly suggest you pick one up!

I bought this drone the day it dropped, and it’s such a magnificent machine. I have owned the og magic and currently own the magic 3 pro. This is so much fun, I’ve even flown it indoors, something I would not dare do with my magic. The only nuisance was activating everything. You have to wire up your phone to the goggles to activate the goggles and the drone. Once that is done, you can then take off. I have crashed it once, and thankfully nothing broke. But please buy care refresh as you will feel confident flying close to objects and will crash.
