DJI makes really good drones. After a few dozen flights the cable sleeve where the legs bent out is fraying and truly a let down being a premium product.

My wife purchased me a Typhoon H+ for our anniversary however after a few days, we realized that the Mavic 2 Pro would be a better fit for our family. We returned the H+ for the M2P with DJI Racing Edition Goggles and Fly More kit. I will add reviews for those two products after this one. Lots of great things to say about the M2P however since everyone always wants to talk about what they love about products, I’m going to talk about what I don’t like about it first... - No 4K recording at 60 fps. It does 4K/30. At this level I would really have expected them to include 60 frames capability at 4K. - The gimbal protector is inadequate and as a result, there are widespread reports on the Mavic forms of people receiving drones with cosmetically damaged gimbals. Mine fortunately did not have the damage. - The Percision Landing feature which is present in the first generation Mavic has been removed. DJI has indicated they will add it back in a future firmware update. - The controller does not have the ability to hold a phone that is in any reasonably sized protective case. There are third-party accessories that you can purchase that will attach to the controller that are better suited for holding devices that are in cases or even tablet. Ok, now the really cool stuff! My favorite part of this drone is the size. Having owned a DJI Phantom 4 for approximately 2 1/2 years, I was eager to get something more portable. I am no professional photographer so I may never use some of the cameras advanced features however out of the box it takes amazing photos and video. One of the biggest selling points for me was that the M2P camera has an adjustable aperature. This is something that I am accustomed to using on my DSLR so I am very happy to find it here... something that you do not find at this price level. If you are new to drones, the M2P has what is called Tripod mode which slows everything down a bit so you can get familiar with it. There are a few other modes and autonomous features that it has but you can research those online. They are great if you have kids or want to do some really cool aerial cinematography. Another huge selling point for me was the enhanced obstacle avoidance which (depending on mode) will give you essentially 360° obstacle avoidance including top and bottom. OA It’s not a substitute for awareness and responsible flying however it can definitely save you for the times you make mistakes... it does happen. Flight time is great. It says 31 minutes however realistically if you fly your battery down to 20% You can expect closer to about 20 minutes or so depending on your flying style. Still very good in my opinion. Lastly I will mention the ability to add FPV goggles... with the DJI RE goggles, You can get for telemetry data in the headset and have complete control of the cameras movements if you so choose. You can even choose to fly the drone with head movements if you’d like. For me, I put the goggles on my kids and let them have the thrill of flying while I am buzzing around. Anyhow, I think the Mavic 2 Pro is a winner for both family/recreational use as well as some professional applications. Overall I feel that it is a good balance between camera capabilities and size. You can get better cameras in larger drones and you can get smaller drones with less of a camera. You just have to decide where you want to be.

Having owned multiple DJI UAV’s in the past and owning a aerial photography business I knew I wanted to get the Mavic 2 Pro. I own a phantom 4 Pro and wanted something with Almost the same camera quality In the case the phantom 4 Pro needed any maintenance. Upon getting the Mavic 2 I noticed there is lots of grain in the camera no matter the setting. ISO, shutter, aperture. What not. Will be trying to warranty it though DJI or Best Buy. I know I just got unlucky with a lemon with many friends who have had no issues with theirs. I would recommend this to anyone, just make sure everything works right before your warranty runs out.

I sent my drone in on 9/10/2020, was told to pick it up on 9/25/2020. Device was sent out on 9/29/2020 after a million calls! Still no word on repairs. I strongly advise anyone to turn down the geeks 400.00 insurance and go with DJI’s manufactures insurance or suffer.

I previously owned a phantom 3 standard hand had issues with range, video performance and reliability. I just couldn’t trust it. When I recently purchased the Mavic 2 pro, I didn’t expect the drastic change. I have never had one issue with the range. No silly warnings about interference, or signal level. The picture and video quality is DSLR quality. Although people complain about the price being high, it is certainly worth it. You will also find some self proclaimed experts on YouTube complaining about the most minuscule (non) issues. Remember this, people always want to be the first to report something negative. Pro’s- image quality. Stable flight (even in high winds), battery life, intelligent flight modes that actually work. Easy to fly. Cons- availability was limited. Had to order it online and have it shipped to my home. Waited all day only to have a delivery attempt made 15 minutes after I left for work. Had to pick it up the next day at a convenience store?!?! No fault of Best Buy or DJI, but UPS needs to get their act together!

Awesome drone. Professional quality photography in stunning 4k. Also extremely fun to fly. In sport mode it goes at least 45mph, it flies up to 400ft (probably more but its illegal to go above 400ft), and has a range of 5 mile radius. Flight time 30 minutes per battery but with fly more package you have 3 batteries that can charge simultaneously, so youll have 90 minutes of flight time and the batteries charge surprisingly quick. Its an all around awesome drone and worth the price.

Awesome 4k video, no zoom ability. Cable to connect controller to phone is lacking, losing connection sometimes. EXTREMELY easy to fly and control. Has tracking features that work very well, following or profile. Manual says can fly in up to 22mph winds, very stable even at 20. Had flight speed up to 33 mph. Has about 30 mins flight time per battery. Get the Fly More pack, a little pricey, tho. Also get the dedicated controller, also VERY pricey, but worth it to free up phone. Manual says takes up to 128Gb microSD, but I use 512Gb with no issues. 5 mins of 4k video is about 3.6Gb. I fly this as often as possible! Logged about 10 hrs of flight time in 3 weeks. Get the KittyHawk app to ensure you stay within flight limitations, especially if you're within 5 miles of airports or near stadiums.

This is by far my favorite drone purchase yet the quality of video and the image stabilization is amazing And the three axis gimbal handles just about anything you can put out it end it never fails My favorite type of shooting video is panning or strafing from side to side. The gimbal transition, even in sport mode works really amazingly well. When you have it in cinematic mode Everything slows down a little bit and it Makes the paining turning And all movements very very very smooth in the video. But the number #1 thing of all the things I like with this drone is the fact that the camera can rotate up. (Yeah ROTATE UP) I can’t tell you how many times I have shot video with other drones and wished I could pan up to get more of the skyline or clouds or a better sunset .. so When I first used it and pan the camera up I was simply shocked and beyond excited I absolutely love it. Another great feature is that they incorporated a really super bright LED light on the bottom of the drone, there are so many reasons I am excited about this but for me i love flying my drones and when filming at night often it is wise to turn off the forward lights So the lights don’t bleed into the video. Then it makes it hard to see the drone in the air at night . Now in the air you can turn the bottom bright light on and easily Locate it also the light really helps for landing when it’s dark and for takeoff when it’s dark because of the sensors on the bottom of the drone If you like the image quality the Mavic pro two is the choice. I’m sure like you I struggled with spending the extra amount that this one cost, but now that I have it I am 100% glad that I spent the extra money to buy the Mavic pro 2 with a haszelbad camera it made all the difference I could not be happier

Very user friendly, very responsive, well worth the price, the quality of the images and the video in just raw footage look amazing. I took a huge leap buying this as my first drone ever, but with patience and practice in open fields of course first, I’m handling it like I’ve done this forever in sport mode. Invest in the good quality SD card and buy those extra batteries, and have a laptop/desktop ready to fill up. I travel a lot thru the US and have captured some great videos and images, the only thing I wish is, I wish it was waterproof, that’d open up so many different types of scenery shots. Other than that, well investment for photography/videography

Getting shots that were impossible on the ground. Good video and still image quality. If you can afford it buy the insurance for 139.00. ( still charged 139.00 for crash on top of insurance) That covers to incidents for two years I think maybe one year just look into it. Used one incedent in the first month after flying. Remember sports mode does not have ant-collision so it will run into something very quickly if you can't stop it in time. Get at least one extra battery if you can. You don't just fly the entire battery life because you have to have enough juice to return to home. With that said you get down to a set battery life amount and it automatically returns to home point which is a great thing. Not a toy especially in sports mode it goes 45 mph and could seriously hurt or kill someone if hit in head. Lots of rules now to flying so follow them or get serious fines etc.

Overall I am impressed with the mavic pro 2 and its features. The camera takes fantastic photos and videos once you get to know all the settings. The flight time seems to be close to what they advertise. Flying the drone itself is easy for really anyone as the sensors basically prevent you from hitting anything, of course if you have them enabled. Compared to the dji phantom 4 pro, I would pick the mavic pro everytime.

I love the DJI Mavic 2 Pro drone. If you are looking for high definition and high quality photos as a photographer this is a great product to get. If you are looking for a cheaper option the Mavic Air 2 might be a better option for you. I have a friend that uses the Mavic Air 2 and we use it for almost all the same purposes. The Pro just provides a farther distance, better range, and better resolution photos than the Air, but still the Air is a great product as well. The app used on your phone to connect to the controller to fly the drone can be a little confusing to maneuver at first. I highly recommend looking at videos that other people have made about rules to follow and strategies when flying the drone before you attempt your first flight. The directions provided in the packaging are good, but the videos from actual users of the device really help to see how to actually use it. If you are in the US you also need to make sure you register it with the FAA before your first flight and register for whatever you are using the drone for. Overall great product! I have also bought the fly more kit in addition to this, so I could get the extra kit and battery packs for extra flying time. One thing to note, is the smart batteries will begin to discharge energy from the batteries if the batteries aren’t used for an extended period of time, so charging far in advance will be pointless. They do this so the batteries don’t age fast and provide the longest life the batteries can provide. The drone comes with internal storage that comes in handy if you don’t have an sd card or forgot it at home. However, if you are recording for a long duration you will most likely need to insert a micro-sd card or you will run out of storage if you are spending a long time recording. One thing to note is to make sure you are careful what micro-sd cards you buy for the device. The drone requires micro-sd cards that can transfer data extremely quick because the photos and videos that are being recorded are transferring so much data at once. So just research the types of micro-sd cards that are specifically compatible because the drone will tell you they are not compatible and you will waste some money that you don’t need to.

I bought this drone to replace the Phantom 4 Pro which was lost due to a malfunction on the controller and the drone never returned home. This is a nice drone with an excellent camera. It is quite handy as it is easy to transport. You can just fold it an put it in your pocket including the remote. It handles quite well even though its 8lbs lighter than the Phantom 4pro. I love the additional sensors. Ive flown this drone in strong winds and it handles very well. It can hover in 1 spot without being blown away however you have to watch your battery life as it tilts into the wind to compensate remaining in 1 spot. Overall this is a good drone. I just wish that the side sensors can remain active at all times without being inactive during flight.

I've always been a fan of DJI products. I got my FAA commercial license last year and had been using a DJI Phantom 4 Pro. Now I've upgraded to the Mavic 2 Pro and I'm really impressed. The drone itself is smaller and easier to handle for storage, transport, and preflight set-up. I'm also impressed with the extra flight time. I've been getting 25-30 minutes of air time from each charged battery for the Mavic 2. The Phantom usually only lasts about 20-22 minutes. The intelligent flight modes are also very impressive, they allow the pilot to create cinematic videos with relative ease. I recommend the Mavic 2 Pro.

This is my first drone. I bought this for the image quality, I have owned this for over 6 months and the image quality both photos and videos continues to blow me away. The ability to shoot RAW photos allows for lots of flexibility in post processing. Video quality is very sharp. Adjustable aperture on the lens is very helpful. The obstacle avoidance sensors aren’t foolproof but certainly add confidence and safety. Range is excellent. Battery life is excellent, 25 minutes flight time is very realistic.
