WOW!! What an amazing piece of technology. I'm so blown away at the footage I record, a great investment for the above average photographer, drone pilot, film maker and techy enthusiast. The range, the tricks, the auto capture and I'm still learning. This drone is The best piece of high tech camera you'll need. 4K and more, plus all the RAW tools for great movie making and editing. - youtube Damm Z

I use this for my own photos on real estate. Easy, great control, crash sensors work well and a ton of tutorials online that help you learn the jam packed features. Video is amazing. I’m getting my FAA license now so I can charge for photos.
Buy the extra battery kit if you can. Makes a big difference in flying time. I love the remote size as well. It’s the perfect size and weight and you never feel like you’re going to drop it.
Get this drone, trust me.

The perfect drone for recreation as well as professional photography. 48MP photos and 8k hyperlapse videos are amazing to say the least. This combo has it all. Enough batteries to last over an hour and a half, 3 ND filters, as well as a newly upgraded controller that feels really comfortable in your hands. Great buy for sure as separately purchasing all the extras would be more than $400 more if you don't buy the fly more combo.

Great drone, fairly easy to fly, awesome technology. I suggest you watch a few videos before getting this to give you an idea of what you have to do to successfully fly this. The combo saves a bunch of money on accessories that are handy and necessary. Camera works very well on this, and since they upgraded the software you also have digital zoom. You will need to register this with the FAA.

Easy to fly, comes with everything you need to get airborn. Great photos and videos, range is further than I have felt comfortable flying, you can adjust that so it does not get to far away. Does require some time to get it registered with FAA and stay updated. Well worth the extra pennies over the smaller drones.

If your an intermediate or a beginner, this is the BEST drone you will find for the money. It’s a HUGE improvement over the Mavic Air. Collision avoidance, flight range, 48mp camera, and flight time are top of the class. You will not find a better drone/package for under $1000. Tracking has improved and the time lapse results are outstanding. This is also the first drone to include ND filters.

This kit comes with everything you need. This is my first high end drone. It’s ease of use and in-app tutorials make it fun to fly with confidence. I definitely suggest going to an open field to get used to the controls. Great photo quality from hundreds of feet in the air.

My second purchase of the same DJI Air 2 drone at a discount of $198.00 was simply fantastic!! This drone is easy to fly using a superb fly app. The three batteries allow well over an hour of very enjoyable UAV flying experience. Highly recommended purchase!

The Drone you are looking for

DJI, with their combination of excellent avionics and quality cameras, has been at the top of the consumer aerial photography market for several years. Their drones can produce professional quality images in compact sizes that are easy to fly and control. Does the new Mavic Air 2 live up to expectations as a new drone from DJI? Time to find out!
Two quick notes – the FAA requires that operators of the Mavic Air 2 register as a UAS (drone) operator in the US and follow all of the rules and laws around operating a UAS. Also, be sure to “wake up” the batteries from shipping mode one at a time by plugging them into the power supply plug directly, do not start charging them with the multi-port station! If the battery is plugged into the multi-port station first it can cause an issue where the battery never wakes up and has to be replaced by DJI. Save yourself some hassle and just plug them each directly into the charger. Just a few minutes per battery is enough to wake them up and make sure they are ready, then you can use the multi-port charger.
The Mavic Air 2 is available in two flavors, one with the basics (drone, controller, propellers, and a single battery), and the Fly More combo.
The Mavic Air 2 Fly More combo is an incredible value, coming with just about everything a drone pilot could ask for. Everything is neatly packed in the box, with the drone and several of the accessories all in the bag already. Seeing how compact the drone is all folded up is one of the highlights of opening the package. The bag has an extra foam sleeve for the “face” of the drone, keeping it well padded. The propellers are not attached and DJI does not recommend storing the drone with them on as they could warp over time. That said, I found that as long as you are careful putting the drone in the bag, there is enough space for the drone with the propellers on to fit, which is great if you are headed out to fly and don’t want to fuss with attaching the props in the field. It’s really easy to put the props on and take them off – just hold the top of the motor ring to keep it from spinning, align the tabs from the propeller, push down and twist the prop to lock it in place. Always check for a secure fit and that you have the correct propeller on the correct motor before flying!! There are 4 foam protectors that are on the motor axels, I saved those for when I’m storing the drone as extra protection.
Getting ready for flight is simple, charge the batteries, attach the props, screw in the control sticks, and connect the controller to your phone using one of the included cables. My controller came with the lightening cable already attached under the phone clamp, so don’t panic if you don’t see it in the box. The cables are right angle cables, I didn’t have an issue with the case on my phone but if you have a thicker case without a lot of clearance around the charging port you might need to get a “straight” cable with USB-C to plug into the controller and whatever type of plug your phone requires. The phone is securely clamped into the top of the controller so it is easy to get to and see. There is an option in the app to even have the controller charge your phone if the battery is low! Open the DJI Fly app, power up the controller and the drone, install the required firmware update, tag your drone with your FAA operator number, and you are ready to go. The Mavic Air 2 has an onboard 8gb memory that can be used to store some photos or video; I installed a 64gb microSD card for more space and the ability to directly load the original photos to my PC.
If your takeoff location is in the grass or dusty, a landing pad may be in order. The back props are very low and will cut grass or kick up a ton of dust that will get all over the drone and pulled through the motors. Once in the air, the Mavic Air 2 is a dream to fly. I’m really into tech and it’s still a wonder to me how these drones stay fixed in position when they are getting buffeted by 10-12mph winds on a blustery spring day. It’s incredibly responsive and it can get very fast in sport mode, remember that it takes distance to stop, especially if going with the wind! Flight time is also incredible, with up to 34 minutes. I found myself checking the remaining battery and being amazed at how much time was left. It really changes how you fly when you can take time to frame up shots or play with the myriad of photo options this thing has.
The camera on here is very good, it’s a Sony 1/2” sensor with a 48mp native resolution. It can do HDR stills, HDR Video, 4k at 60fps, 8k hyperlapse, and is stabilized on a 3 axis gimbal. The 48mp mode is interesting – it resolves more detail than 12mp, but with a tradeoff in noise and sharpness. It’s nice to have the option if more cropping or a larger print size is needed. Different options will change some of these things, for example 4k video at 60fps will disable HDR video and the automatic obstacle avoidance ability (it will still alert you that you are approaching something). For the size and price point of the Mavic Air 2, this camera is a perfect match and capable of meeting all but the most demanding of needs.
For flight safety, the Mavic Air 2 has obstacle avoidance sensors that look forward, down, and behind. The Mavic Air 2 can automatically avoid obstacles it detects, but I was not willing to fly it at a tree and hope it avoided it! There is also a bright LED that can be turned on to aid in landing or spotting the drone by pushing a button on the controller. The US versions of the MA2 also have an ADS-B receiver. This allows the MA2 to be aware of other aircraft using the ADS-B location beacon and alert you that a manned aircraft is close. Despite the advertised range of the controller being 6 miles it’s against FAA regulations to fly beyond your unaided visual sight, however the ADS-B system can help you be extra alert that an aircraft is nearby. Even though you aren’t likely to fly the MA2 to the edges of its range, with that much capability it does mean that your connection is very reliable between the drone and the controller, which is awesome.
Even with everything that is great about the Mavic Air 2, I do have a couple of minor things in the app that I hope can get cleaned up. For one, when approaching an obstacle, it doesn’t tell you which direction or distance it is picking up the obstacle. Also, I found it hard to navigate the photo and video modes and figure out what would change with different settings. The documentation in the box tells you almost nothing beyond basic setup, so you have to find everything else online or learn while operating the drone, which is a bit daunting at times when the UI isn’t completely intuitive.
Overall, the Mavic Air 2 is that rare product that sits at the balance point of features and price. It has more than enough capability to keep all but most demanding professionals happy while not breaking the bank. It’s a joy to fly and is the drone you are probably looking for.

This is a huge improvement over the previous Mavic Air. I'd go as far as to say it's an improvement over the original Mavic Pro as well.
For under $1000, you get everything you'll need to fly. The batteries last a very long time compared to other DJI models. It is definitely more quiet than some of the previous DJI drones, as well. Also, the remote seems to be a huge upgrade. It's much easier to hold in your hands. I have an IPhone 11 Pro Max and it has an Otterbox Defender case on it. All I had to do was take the outer soft case off and it fit in the phone mount without removing the inner hard case. Point being most phones and cases would fit without a problem because my phone is one of the biggest phones on the market and the OtterBox Defender case is by far one of the thickest cases you'll find out there.
Definitely happy with the purchase and BestBuy shipped it super fast as usual...

If you are looking to get the Mavic Air 2, then the Fly More Combo is well worth the extra money. Having the extra batteries is a must. Even at 20 to 30 minutes, one battery is not enough. The ND filters are good, but it would be nice if it started at a ND 4, 8 and 16. Be carful charging your batteries up for the first time. Don't charge them on the multi-charger. That caused one of my to become unrecognized by the the drone. You can fix it, but it's annoying. Just charge them up individually with the defat charger the very first time. I have no real complains about the drone. Good video quality for the money, but you have to know what you are doing to some degree if you want to avoid potentially choppy video in certain lighting conditions. Overall I am very pleased with the drone and this package. I have no issue recommending this to anyone. (Video screen shot included.)

The Mavic Air 2 is great! I upgraded from the Mini and it was well worth the price. The distance you can travel, the 4K footage you can take, and all the smart features make this drone one of the best out there. Included just one of many great shots captured with it.
