The best action camera I've used to date.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Okay so I've been using a different brand of action camera for years, and this is my first time using this brands action camera. Let's just say I'm extremely impressed with the quality that comes from this little camera. If you need a camera that does not overheat after long periods of recording in 4k, this is it. If you need a camera that has extra stable video footage while running or jumping, or just anything that requires you to be on the go at any pace. This is it. The battery life is so much better than my last action camera, it's insane. Speaking of batteries. I'd recommend the adventure combo, because you get everything you need on the box. 3 batteries, extremely long selfie stick, a cage for added protection, and much more. Another thing I like is the fact that this one can use a microphone, without needing any special high priced adapters. Just plug in your microphone via the type c port on the camera, and it's good to go. However, 5he onboard microphones are really good too. Overall, this cost less and has better video quality than any other action camera I've use. Also, I like the look of this one better too. The displays are great on this camera, and look really good in sunlight. I'd recommend this over others for sure.

Tons of value for the money
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the price, this adventure combo kit is a superb value offering plenty for the money offering great battery life and tons of versatility for lots of different scenarios. The build quality of everything in this combo seems really good. Everything feels solid and most likely durable over the long term. You have the ability to record all the way up to 4K/120fps so you can capture some super slow motion shots of whatever you’d be doing like skateboarding or mountain biking. I did however find the image quality to be a little muddy and not as crisp as I would have hoped for. Colors and audio are very good but edges on objects just seemed a bit cloudy. Battery life is very impressive where I was getting over 2 hours of recording time in 4K. Their claim of 160 hours is recording in 1080p but not sure who exactly still records in that low of a setting these days. While battery life is impressive, one of my favorite inclusions in this combo is the battery charging case - it’s so darn good! Again, the construction is very solid and isn’t cheap feeling at all. The case can hold 3 batteries with a very secure lid and it charges via USB C. Another thing I quite like about it are the magnetic mounts. Having used plenty of GoPros in the past, this is a huge plus for me where you can just quickly unclip the camera from the mount without having to unscrew it. For stuff like changing batteries or SD cards, this is super nice to have. For vertical mounting using the magnetic mount, you have to use the included cage which adds a vertical mount point. Sort of a bummer you have to use the camera cage to get this mounting option but what’s nice is that you can use both orientations with the cage. The selfie stick…um, holy cow it is WAY longer than you would expect! The selfie stick extends to nearly *5 feet long* from a collapsed length of 9 inches. That blew my mind. That amount of extension helps get the camera far away from you so you can get an even better perspective of you and your environment and just allows for lots of creativity. While many people may be considering a GoPro Hero 11 vs this Oslo Action 3, yes, the Hero 11 offers more features but is also more expensive. The price of this combo kit is about the same price as just the Hero 11 itself without any accessories. If you’re just considering the price of the cameras themselves, the Action 3 comes in over $100 cheaper than the Hero 11 while still offering plenty of features. If you’re looking for the best bang for your buck, this combo kit is definitely worth a look!

Amazing Bang for your Buck
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned many action cameras over the years spanning the entire price spectrum and this is the first time I was impressed by the quality of the camera itself, and what is included for the price. The Osmo Action 3 is the first action camera where I didn't feel the need to immediately go out and purchase other accessories. Just add a memory card and go! The video quality and stabilization are no slouches either! 4k at 120fps looks great and colors are nice and punchy, although it may be a little too saturated for some. 1080p at 240fps is cool for slowing down the action but I do wish 2.7k at 240fps was available as 1080p is a little soft. As far as build, I think DJI nailed it. I really like that the outer lens is replaceable in the event that it gets scratched or broken. The 50ft+ depth rating also means that I'll likely never need to use a housing for underwater shots. The touchscreen also worked great with wet hands which has not been my experience with other waterproof touchscreen devices. When considering the quality, features, and accessories included for the price you would be very hard pressed to beat the DJI Osmo Action 3 adventure kit.

What a great action camera kit!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Osmo Action 3 has been a breath of fresh air! I love this Adventure combo pack that comes with everything important you need right off the bat. The included 3 batteries with a charging case is super convenient when motovlogging, fishing, or anything you might be doing that could use more than one full charge. All of the basic mounts you would need are also included. The case does not add any additional water proofing or anything, but it does allow you to film in portrait mode when needed. The selfie stick is heavy duty and I have not had any issues walking around with it. I really like the magnetic mounting system, because there aren't any parts sticking out of the camera until you attach the mount. Video quality has been superb so far! I usually film in 2.7k/60 to keep file sizes low, but 4k video looks great on this camera. The available image stabilization does a great job of keeping jittery footage to a minimum while walking, jogging, or even riding motorcycles. Definitely impressive at this price point. This kit does not come with a micro SD card, so make sure you grab one with enough storage for your filming needs!

Ultimate Action Camera Package!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a GoPro user since the Hero3 Black and have upgraded multiple times within the GoPro line up, most recently to the Hero10. I was interested in switching brands to make sure I wasn't missing anything by being loyal to GoPro for so many years. I did purchase my last GoPro as a kit/package so comparing that purchase to the DJI Action 3 Adventure Combo will be super fun! Initial thoughts - Packaging and Adventure Combo breakdown Packaging was much smaller than with GoPro due to the fact you don't get a carry case (point 1 to GoPro) BUT DJI has a few tricks up their sleeve. Unboxing and set up was simple and required you to download ANOTHER APP!.. But in short order I had all the updated completed and was able to continue unboxing the rest of the adventure combo items. The camera design is very GoPro-ish and follows a familiar fit and function BUT with some new tech baked in. Wins for DJI - Multi Function Battery Case - Quick Release magnetic mounts - Extension rod-- The battery case is wicked convenient for all day adventures as it allows you to charge 3 batteries in succession and maintain charge as you hike/bike/drive to your destination! This is a serious win for action camera users! AND if you are in a tricky spot you can use the DJI batteries in the holder as a portable charger for additional USB devices. Bonus! Second win is the connection point to the camera and camera enclosure which provides options to mount to support both horizontal and vertical recordings. Lastly the extension rod, small form factor with rigid design to allow you some level of getting rad with feeling confident in both the camera connection and the extension pole quality and design. I would say the nitty gritty of video quality and more importantly stand alone audio capture in this action camera has come a long way. You can in a pinch utilize the audio capture but secondary audio capture is alway preferred when professional videos are your end goal. Battery life is exactly on point and shooting in high res formats delivered as expected. The added cold temp friendly batteries is a welcome change from past cameras because living in Wisconsin, we adventure year round and this includes wintertime adventures. The fact the batteries won't be impacted until temps get below -4 degrees is very reassuring that regardless of the weather and temperature you can rely on the camera to last the full battery duration. Touch screen and menus are simple to navigate and intuitive in nature. I really enjoyed seeing what other options are available and based on my experiences with DJI (Spark Drone and Mavic 3 Drone) have always been very happy with both hardware and software. There are tons of video comparisons available to do additional research on video quality if necessary but you won't be disappointed with this all in one package to get out and record your adventures. It's been cool to see how much technology has evolved in the action camera market!

Very soft image
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this in ahout 3 days ago and have been testing and watching reviews on the oa3, but the image from pictures or video seems to be rather sharp and almost seem out of focus. There is nothing you can do and it really doesnt seem like much will be possible to fix this as i got the beta firmware which they said would tremendously fix this issue and it made little to no difference. I hate to be that guy but i would also hate to have more people dissapointed on poor quality control by dji

This a decent action camera
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The DJI Osmo Action 3 Adventure Combo Action Camera retails for $439.99 usd msrp. In the box includes: Osmo Action 3 camera, mounting frame, 1 horizontal mount, 1 vertical mount, 3 batteries, 1 rechargeable battery case ( that can fit all 3 batteries at once), 1 usb-c cable, 1 sticker mount, and 1 selfie monopod. This camera is a beast. I have several years of experience with the GoPro cameras and this one by DJI is a very good comparable competitor. It has the same resolutions and frame rates. (4k at 120fps max and 1080p at 240fps). I found the the sound from the mics are better than the GoPros in my option. My favorite features on this camera are: 1. You can mount this camera either horizontal or vertical (for social media view). You have to have the frame cage attached on the camera to use the mount vertically. The mounts are magnetic with a latch to securely attach it. 2. The video quality is superb (of course in ideal lighting). The auto white balance is on point (especially under water) and I didn't have to make any adjustments out of the box filming. 3. There are viewing screens on both the front and the back of the camera which also has touch functions. 4. The battery charging case. You can charge all 3 batteries at once and it charges really quickly. In the case, the batteries charges to 85% within 50 min from dead but you can also charge the battery in camera from dead to 85% in just under 20 minutes. This is a superb camera. There wasn't much I didn't like about it. I definitely recommend this camera.

Hard Pass
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is probably one of the lowest reviews I've given. It could be lower, but the accessories are nice. THE GOOD ~ Front and back Touch screens ~ Sturdy ~ 3 batteries included ~ charging pack ~ Selfie stick ~ Magnetic mount ~ Accessories ~ Battery case/batteries can be used as a power bank THE BAD ~ Must download app to phone and register camera ~ APP THE MEH (could go either way) ~ Must download app ~ Must register to use your camera ~ Image quality OVERALL I have another brand action camera that is about 5 years old now. This camera is much heavier and feels more substantial than my previous. To be honest, the other one is smaller and so plasticky feeling that it feels like a toy that would break if I drop it. This feels much more solid. I like that it has touch screens on the front and the back. This makes it simple to record action and then swing the camera around onto yourself to get reaction or commentary and while keeping everything in frame. The selfie stick is another plus. Some brands of sticks are so light and flimsy, it seems as if a wind would bend them over like a long blade of grass. This stick has some heft to it. I wouldn't trust it to beat back a NYC mugger, but it might. Seriously, though, it feels well-built. The magnetic attachment is also nice. It allows you to mount and unmount the camera quickly unlike the usual screw on/off attachments. This package comes with 3 batteries, which is another very nice feature. Unlike rechargeable devices with single, non-removeable batteries that would require being plugged in (and losing significant recording time of a sport), this allows you to minimize downtime by quickly switching out your batteries, which come in a hard charging case. This case of 3 batteries can also be used as a power bank. Another plus. Getting the camera working was a nightmare. Well, it actually worked the first 5 times I used it. After that, it was turned into a paperweight until I could get their glitchy app functioning. I had to continuously download the idiotic software and try to run it. It would get part way through on one cellphone and freeze. I tried using my other cellphone and after many attempts, I received an error message that it couldn't parse the package. This is after receiving messages I am downloading a package from a non-trusted source. I went back to the first phone and finally managed to get it working. The idea that anyone MUST download software to their phone, giving access to location and files is ridiculous. Imagine if Canon or Nikon started forcing everyone to download their software to use a DSLR. On top of that, DJI takes no responsibility if they accidentally do something and you must agree that you cannot join any class-action suit against them and if you sue them (via arbitration only) you agree you can never get more than $100 if successful. Yes, I actually read the entire ToS. The image quality is lacking. My old action camera is about the same megapixel value, but the photos and video are much more sharp. These are very grainy. Starting a video is simple using the shutter button. However, the shutter button will not turn off the video. I have to press the power button or turn on my phone, connect it to the camera and then turn off video via my cellphone. That's ridiculous. On top of that, beware of your settings. The first videos I took came back telling me I needed to pay $0.99 to get a codec to view my videos. I changed the codec. After registering my device and changing the battery, I took more videos. When I tried to view them, I was greeted with a screen telling me I needed to pay for a codec to see them. Delete! Glad they weren't those important life moments. BIG QUESTION Would I recommend this to someone? I don't see that happening. Really, this was extremely disappointing. I was hoping to use this on some obstacle course runs, and I still might in the future, if I decide to invest in a head or chest rig for this, but the overall experience has been so off-putting that I've had a difficult time even writing this review. I will probably continue on with my old device and use this one as a paperweight.

Ready To Film Out Of The Box Within 15 Minutes
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.DJI makes some of my favorite grab-and-go cameras, and I had the opportunity to explore the DJI Osmo Action 3 vs the GoPro Hero11. While each action camera has its own strength, DJI wins hands-down in terms of grab-and-go readiness. The USB-C charging and included multi-battery charging case is easily slid inside a pocket or shoulder sling. The handle is a curiosity, as on the GoPro, they made the handle a battery, tripod, and controller for settings (presumably because whatever you were filming would preclude you from using the touch-screen interface). So while DJI is good for discrete chunks of action, the GoPro is probably better suited to "whatever happens just keep filming"-style ongoing stuff. That being said, DJI's Osmo offering is pretty darn slick. The different modes produce really good video, even in low-light situations, and the audio is surprisingly good to go with it. Do you get the all-weather versatility of the GoPro? Maybe... and it certainly had no issues working for me in the rain, with crazy wind, being held by kiddos riding skateboards. DJI has this almost magical methodology for capturing smooth video and in terms of capturing amazing video with minimal effort (and minimal attachments), they have the market cornered. Their software and touch-screen interfaces have some wonkiness to them - the connectivity on the DJI app is sometimes odd and the touchscreen is really hard to navigate and select the things you want especially while you're filming on the go/in the moment. Overall, though, DJI makes some of my favorite action cameras and my DJI Osmo Action 3 has earned its spot next to my DJI Pocket 2 - and if you're a content creator looking to do walk-and-talks, vlogs, or action shots, you've found your match.

Almost Perfect.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I normally give reviews in a Good, Bad, Ugly structure. So lets get started. Good (love or like this a lot) Small and light. Very well made construction (durability). Creator accessories are epic and well worth the extra price above stand alone unit (more on that later) Battery life is better than previous models with larger size and improved weather resistance. 2 touchscreens? yes please. Very easy to touch and scroll menus with. Magnetic clip for portrait or landscape filming. not worries it will come off when attached. Selfie pole is nice and long. Very sturdy and with software you can remove from video with ease. 3 batteries and charging case(case does not charge without power) that can double as power bank (with batteries inside).Love the option to swap them out, and with 3 I can shoot a lot longer with no worries, New and improved menu to make it easy to find your settings. Touchscreen quicker and more responsive. Making you setup quicker and easier for you to get going. Horizon lock, Horizon leveling and RockSteady are improved and are light years ahead of the previous models. Sound capture is good, but not great. But what do you expect for a action camera. However, with it able to use “any” type C mic, it does have ability to meet most audio needs. You can use the included case to mount portrait or landscape, but without you can mount landscape. So keep that in mind Improved color profile to give a little more color to your work. Good upgrade, but to large step up. Bad (this sucks, but you can work through it) Magnetic clips are the only thing it will attach to. so if you forget or lose it, well you are out of luck and filming handheld. Battery case does not hold a charge to "refresh" the batteries inside. Selfie pole is long and will tend to wobble if you are using for skiing, biking, or other rapid movement activities. Lenes is waterproof, as long as you don’t take it off and incorrectly reinstall it. Which has happened many times. The O ring is small and quite hard to get ahold of without tweezers. Even with the mounts fully seated, the connection does move alittle with rattle sound. Which might come out of you use the front facing audio source while filming. Still only 12mp camera and slightly bigger image sensor. This means the images/video are still lower rez that almost all the other cams that are out there. Camera will not work unless you register your account with the company ( you can skip 5 times). Takes the fun out it when open the box and what to get to filming. Old accessories will not all work with this model. Lens is bigger, camera battery location is different(also different type), cages and ND filters will not work unless you get a 3rd party kit after the fact. Ugly (Why did they do this or why is it this way) After 5 skips of registration you will be locked out from using the camera until you do register it online. Also they want access to you pictures, video, audio, calls (coming and going) and phone usage. Not sure why they need all this info to just film a kids birthday party. With larger sensor, you also get more noise in low light since it is still 12mp. So noise is larger and easier to see, Buttons are stiff, therefore when starting or ending your vid/pic you have a tendency to move your camera making it blurry or change directions. AND here is the big one. The focus on this model is terrible. The minimum focus is supposed to be 0.3 m, but even past that it has a soft filter like quality. I am not sure action people care if you have wrinkles while you are surfing a volcanic wave (interesting visual). But with 3 firmware updates and numerous emails/calls the problem still remains. If you like a soft video for your beauty blog or to have a dreamy flashback in your youtube, then this is your cam. However, you want this to grab the action and show the world your newest tricks, then pass on this until they fix the problem (most likely a physical issue as opposed to software)
