Customers are impressed with the Osmo Action Camera's video quality, ease of use, and stabilization. Many also appreciate the front screen and its compact size, along with the waterproof capabilities and competitive price. However, some users noted limitations with the zoom functionality and occasional connectivity issues with the app. A few also mentioned the camera's tendency to overheat in certain conditions and its less-than-ideal low-light performance.

First off, I do have other cameras. However this is the first one with a front display. I didn't think it was a big deal until I used it. WOW.. it was a game changer. 1. I can see myself, therefore I can frame the shot better. 2. When filming, it looks like I am engaging the audience, even though I am truly just looking at the screen 3. Battery life and ease of swapping them is a quick easy process. 4. changeable lens and filters are so nice and if once gets damaged I can just buy another, instead of sending in the whole camera. 5. Quick change modes with side button, makes setting up and getting the shots smooth and fast. 6. I like the sound the mics pick up and it is plenty loud enough for me. I know I will get batter sound with a mic, but added interface for audio and the fact I have to remove the door is not in the future for this. 7. All settings and options are so much fun to play with and see how they effect the final cut. Too many things to look and play with for sure. However, with all the above items. I will say I am not happy/fond of the these. 1. Although it comes with a cage, I wish it had built-in fingers to attach to selfie stick. The cage just holds the camera and not does not offer additional connections (light, mic, etc), so it is mostly pointless. 2. If you do not make sure the lens and the battery are fully seated you will end up with a wet and costly paperweight. 3. Battery door is not easy to get open (which could be a good thing in some cases) and will require strong nails to open it up. 4. Too many to list, but not all video formats support the image stabilization, so if you are not careful you will have a hi-def earthquake on your hands when you film. 5. Colors are muted and soft. But, those can be fixed in post and are not much of a problem, unless you want to unload and upload with no editing. So all in all I love this camera, and am really happy I got it. I plan to use for underwater shots, rain filming or anytime I think I will be in need of protection from the elements.

This is far superior to any of the brand x I've used. It never fails, never freezes, and the battery lasts longer. Generally everything about this camera is better than those other guys. There is a new version of this camera out that I will be trying that reviews just as well as this one (this unit is no longer made). If you're looking and find one, get it. I've been using this one hard core for quite a while now.

Small compact camera with intuitive and easy user interface. Much easier and user friendly than GoPro. Great 4K quality videos. Battery life with 4K resolution is about an hour.

I really like this camera and I struggled with picking this one over the GoPro7. I went with this one because of the overwhelming positive reviews on Youtube. Do I regret it... well no... not really but be aware that even though by the basic specs this outperforms the GoPro7 almost in every area plus having the front screen it may not have all the features of the 7. For example GoPro7 has an HDMI output, I think GP speech control might be better, there are so many accessories made for the GP specifically that may not work on the DJI such as the lanyard option. Lots of 3rd party accessories cheaper for GP such as batteries too. Anyway, just another angle to think about. I do love this DJI and it performs well so I'm still happy with the purchase front screen is cool even with the lag.

Excellent camera for the price. The image quality and stabilization are great. The battery life is also quite good. The camera is not great in low light situations. Overall, I highly recommend it.

Bought this as a cheaper option to the GoPro and loved using it on my trip. Front facing screen works well, I love being able to charge it while in use, used it for a month and barring when I forgot to charge it never had it crash on me. Worked even when my iPhone didn’t die to heat although it says it has a heat threshold it kept working. Highly recommend for the value. Only thing they could add is 5-k for the future but that’s not necessary for most as the quality is very clear.

If your using a GoPro or osmo I really don't think any pictures your taking are going into a coffee table book . That being said I own both hero black 8 and now the osmo , and can 100% say that the osmo action camera is better in almost every way then the hero black 7 &8 . I'm really hard on my cameras and having the ability to change the front lens is a must and the fact that GoPro no longer supports that is a deal breaker. Osmo supports lens changes longer battery life by almost 15 min and the accessories for the osmo are alot cheaper

I was a little skeptical about getting this even though I read and watched so many positive reviews about this action cam. After actually using it and seeing the results, I completely agree with what everyone has been saying. Just the general ease of use and the quality of the image is what youd ever really want from an action camera. I also own a DJI Mavic 2 Pro and was able to put together video edits from both cameras that completely matchup in quality. Highly recommended!

I'm late to the game, but bought this as a secondary camera for grabbing some unique shots on some of my projects. The small compact size and the fact that it captures nice footage in bright sunlight is very nice. It definitely feels sturdy and I prefer the color from the DJI compared to GoPro products. I am a sucker for DJI products to begin with, I'm curious if they're going to make a version 2 of this camera.

I like this camera better than the Gopro for a couple of reasons. 1. there's a front facing LCD screen that can be used to properly fame your shot if you're vlogging or in front of the camera. 2. you can unscrew and replace the front lens if it gets scratched or damaged (also allows you to add ND filters in order to properly expose your footage if you're shooting in manual modes). 3. Shoots up to 120FPS in 1080p and shoots high quality 4k footage.

Chose this one, over the GoPro hero 8. I think I made a mistake. The video quality is great, sound is decent. My main issue is there is not way to switch from video to photos by the press of a button, you can switch video modes but not from video to photo. It’s on the touch screen, which sounds handy, but if the camera is in a case the touchscreen is inaccessible. Secondly. Transferring video. This part, to me, is idiotic. I have a DJI mini 2, 0 issues transferring videos. This thing, not so much. I have a 4K video I want to transfer to my tablet. When attempting to transfer it pops up a notification that say Insufficient space, please clear space and try again. Weird. The video is 16GB, I have almost 30 available. So I delete stuff, no problem, didn’t need all of it anyway. Finally get past that notification. It then says your device cannot download directly with 4K, which, it can because I do it with my Mini 2 all the time. So I have to transcode this, no problem, except it takes it down to 1080p, again no problem. My issue is that it took up 9GB after the download. I literally had triple the amount of space required and it said not enough. So I wasted time deleting files and documents, when I didn’t need to. All this so I can edit it down to a 3GB document. I’m not sure if the GoPro has better software or better processes, but this made me furious. Overall the camera is good for the money. Have your phone nearby to switch from video to pictures and back again if you need.

I took this on vacation to the Virgin Islands. It took such amazing pictures underwater. Very easy to use. This is coming from someone who has very little experience with action cameras. Personally, I had no troubles with the app. I actually never really used it unless i was downloading pictures/videos off of it to my phone. Overall, amazing camera and would highly recommend to anyone who wants simplicity, yet just as good, if not better than the GoPro

Way better than I anticipated, especially at the price point. The front facing screen helps out a lot for framing yourself, the back touch screen is very intuitive. Only issue is when it gets wet (the camera is waterproof) its a little hard to control the back screen. But I would recommend this camera in heartbeat to anyone looking for a good action camera.

I bought both the GoPro8 and DJI Osmo Action...the Action smacked down the GoPro. I love the UI on DJI, the front screen, the removable lens cap, the more natural colors compared to horrendously warm colors on the GoPro. This is DJI’s first action camera and it is as good as the GoPro 8 and in my opinion, even outperforms it in many aspects. I cannot wait for the next iteration of this camera!

First I must say that I’m a fan of all DJI products. I’ve been waiting for this one. Very similar to my gopro, but the osmo action adds selfie view which comes in handy. 4k videos and pictures are perfect. Nice option to add filters at ease. Stabilization better than expected. Waterproof is good. I will be testing during scuba when underwater housing comes out for deeper depths. Can’t wait for improvements on the next version.

I was apprehensive of buying this little camera at first due to all the weird problems I had with two different GoPro cameras. I can say that it has restored my faith in action cams. The few times i have used mine, I have been totally impressed the ease of use and the quality in the videos I have made. I would totally recommend this action camera to anyone.

Picture quality is amazing. Used it above and below water. Underwater setting gave perfect color when snorkeling. Rocksteady feature was great when walking on a trail. Rocksteady feature had a difficult time keeping the horizon straight when on a boat. May be user error (have to check the manual to see if I missed something) but it was always tilting right or left when under power. Worked fine when we stopped and drifted. Would like to give 4 1/2 stars since this was the only issue.
