I absolutely love this quadcopter,it is so easy and fun to fly and video quality is great. There are also all kind of cool upgrades you can buy for it .I'm hooked I fly it every chance I get, I would highly recommend this quadcopter you won't be sorry.Just make sure you buy extra batteries trust me you'll be happy you have them.

I had been reading upon and watching the prices on this particular drone. At Christmas time it went on sale so I purchased it. This is my first drone so yes there is a lot of info needed to learn but then again there are forums and You Tube that are excellent sources of help to answer questions, as for this particular drone the camera is amazing and the distance is decent too. The battery will last you about 20-25 minutes so you will want to buy another one . As for accessories for this model as well as the rest of the Phantom family, there are a lot of items to choose from. Once again this is a really nice middle of the road drone for a fair price.

Having flown smaller heli's I figured this would be fun. It is so easy to fly and takes great video / pictures. Took a little while to get enough nerve up to fly out of site but now it is fun to fly using my phone to see where it is going.

Before I made this purchase, I did a lot of research with different camera drones around this price range. And this one stood out amongst the others regarding features and functionality. I've read through a lot of mixed reviews regarding this drone, and most of the negative reviews regard their customer service being awful. Luckily I haven't had any issues with the drone for the need of customer support. Upon unboxing the drone, I had to go through the charging/ registration process, which was fairly easy, except for the disconnect/reconnect of the wifi for the drone, because I have a wifi only tablet, but no big deal. Had a few hiccups with the calibration process, but that was due to the fact that I live near a lot of metal structures. I find that some calibration errors could be fixed just by turning the drone 180 degrees. First initial flight was impressive, this thing is pretty stable when hovering in gps mode. I also fly in atti mode, just to familiarize myself with manual control of this uav. As for distance, I was getting about 1500 ft before video or signal would drop. Just make sure you set your return to altitude higher than the area your flying in. It'll save your drone from crashing into the trees. I modified the controller for further flying distances, along with a sunhans booster for video, and I couldn't be happier, and still a lot cheaper than a phantom 4. Familiarize yourself with the controls, and this thing is amazingly fun. Best of luck future uav pilots

I started with a very cheap drone and found myself wanting more, so I tried the 3DR Solo. I quickly found that 3DR doesn't plan to do much with upgrades and it had issues with getting satellites in order to take off and control it properly. So I traded it in for the DJI Phantom standard. I have been nothing but happy with it. It comes with a great camera, it is very easy to use, and with a great company like DJI you can find aftermarket parts and upgrades easily. I have come to find that I want the camera features of the Phantom 4 pro but am more than happy with my 3 standard while I wait. I very much recommend this drone to anybody that wants a good reliable starter drone that is capable of taking amazing pictures and video.

I purchased this drone based on the suggestion of the salesmen at Best Buy. I was first enamored with a competitors unit that I would have had to use my Go Pro with and he suggested I consider the Phantom as it had the camera built in for actually less money. I have never looked back on my purchase, in fact I have influenced an second (and possibly more!) family members to follow in my purchasing path! I never guessed that flying a drone could be so much fun and relaxing! I know this has a 2.7K camera in lieu of the 4.0 of its big brother. Unless you are doing this for hire, you;ll be tickled with the heigh quality of photos and video.

This is my third drone. The camera is better than my go pro and the drone control is perfect.

This is not for kids, propellers are fast and hard that would definitely do bodily damage. As for the quad copter it is a lot of fun. I did have a very difficult time getting it to link with my iPhone the instructions are not correct. I want to get The Phantom get the pro. The camera makes the difference the video on this one could be better. I will probably sell it soon and put that money towards the pro. I'm not a kid I'm 62 years old and the youngster want to comes to things like this.

I received this as a gift. I was at first extremely intimidated after reading the included material which is very much lacking. I watched YouTube instructional videos and felt more comfortable. First flight took care of most of my fears. After a few flights I was no longer in beginner mode. This is a very stable quad. Between gps and other sensors really the only thing to learn is the camera. Take off and landing are quite easy. I still use auto land. Video quality is quite good. Photo quality is on par with most point and shoot cameras using a small sensor. I'm still in the learning phase so keep it in auto. The gimbal really does an excellent job of stabilizing the camera. Nowhere in the included material does it mention registering this drone with the FAA. But it is required and I did. Although many won't just to make a statement. The DJI Go app is pretty good. Could be better. But I really like the flight records it keeps. I would caution against using their video editor. I use Splice or my GoPro editor. Either works good if you don't want to buy one. Loading video to your iPhone wirelessly takes a long time. For longer videos I use a USB 3.0 card reader that loads a huge file in seconds. Although I am still in the learning phase, I think this is about the best drone in its price range. If I were rating the DJI included material I'd rate it a 2. But that is not what this review is about.

bought it for my hubby, we love flying it at home (practicing for an ocean flight,) great camera, a little complicated to set up. Works great on our samsung phone as well as iPad. Range is very good. battery life is about 20 minutes. will consider purchasing a backup battery.

This is my first quad copter and it's an amazing machine. Very simple to fly and the camera is incredible. Hard to believe that this is an introductory model. For someone that doesn't want to spend a ton, this is the way to get started!

I am in love with this quad copter drone. Right out of the box, the intuitive settings and fail safes made me look like I had been flying it for years. I have been doing landscapes, houses, stuff with my kids, you name it. I am eager to "outgrow" this drone to move on to the next level with a 4K camera. Couldn't recommend it enough.

This thing is awesome I love it and it's so easy to fly and learn to use the camera because of this I've find abandoned houses near my house and just a lot of awesome stuff great all around product so don't think twice get it now and right away

I spent weeks researching what drone to buy for my son, and the DJI Phantom stood out the most. This unit is easy to set up, download the app, and fly right out of the box. We have spent hours enjoying the DJI Phantom Standard drone with amazing HD camera footage. As beginner drone pilots, we are happy with this unit, and highly recommend it!!!

I got the Phantom 3 standard for Christmas from my wife (of course I helped her pick it out), and have flown it every chance I get! I absolutely love it and recommend it to anyone who's interested. The controls are smart and after a few glances at the manual I was flying! The camera is amazing and I have some beautiful shots of sunsets over the a nearby lake. My only drawback would be the manual didn't come with it (had to download it) and even still, the manual is a little weak. If you want to use the most advanced features (follow me mode, etc) you will have to do a bit of research online to figure out all the intricacies of that. Otherwise it's a fantastic machine! Love it!

Though it doesn't have all the great qualities of a phantom 4, this is a perfect drone for beginners and for its price, it's not bad at all

Very easy to fly out of the box. Was flying the same day. This is like the copter for dummies. Auto takeoff & landing. when you don't move controls it just hovers and waits for your next command. Was doing manual takeoffs and landing by the end of the day. Lots of on line help and videos. Video is steady even when coming to quick stop from full throttle.

I purchased the Phantom 3 Standard for Christmas. I have my pilot's license and am a amateur photographer. The drone could not be any easier to fly. I do recommend you read up on the flight regulations, (i.e. do not fly over restricted air space), you do not want a visit from government officials. The images are fantastic and the intelligent flight modes are great.

The control is awesome, return to home is key, video quality is great. We fly this way out of view and have no concern that it will come back. Buzz the shoreline, aerial view of graduation, sporting events, or just showing friends, this is a necessary addition to the RC and photography repertoir. Having so much fun with it!
