    I am new to the drone world and did a lot of research before buying. Price was high but when asking others around I decided on the DJI Spark. Lots of competing brands however I decided on DJI due to the fact that not only were they the first in the industry they continue to provide updates to issues that come up. No drone is perfect but they constantly upgrade firmware to stay as up to date as they can. I have been very happy with my purchase but as a beginner I feel the Spark is a perfect fit. Provideds more than enought options to use but not overly complicated. Manual a little hard to read and understand as it is a foreign company. I read the manual forward and backward but was happy to find so much information on the web and youtube. Found that most fly aways were due to pilot error and almost had one of my own due to the error on my part.

    The Spark offers a solid set of features and good flight performance for the price. The RC makes flight control precise and responsive. Fun once you can get it flying. The significant downside: atrocious setup and possible quality issues. As with most products today, written literature is minimal. Have another device available for troubleshooting other than the main control device, as switching between the apps (and losing your place in DJI Go) will exhaust you. My issues started with a defective RC. After working through every option to exclude user error, DJI phone support confirmed faulty hardware. Thanks to Best Buy for an easy exchange. RC issue resolved, still could not connect to the aircraft. Support forums correctly indicated all internet connections to the control device need to be disconnected; active cellular data connection will prevent a connection . Once I cleared that hurdle, app continued to read "Cannot take off." in red, with the apparent issue being the inability to update No Fly information. Again, at the advice of third party forums, I had to sideload an earlier version of the app before the updates could be completed, unlocking the aircraft. Even when things go right, it takes a significant amount of time to get airborne between setting up the device (e.g., disabling all internet connections), clicking through screens, acknowledging updates, acknowledging warnings, etc. Setup is far too cumbersome with too many known issues for this price point. The app functions like an unstable beta.

    DO NOT BUY! I'm telling you. Don't waste your money. Buy a tv or xbox whatever. Barely flew it and it crashed on its own after 2 hours. Sent it in and they have'data analysis' done twice with same answer. User error crashed it. Total lie and want additional $260 to fix. No such thing as warranty. Don't buy the care package. One of biggest mistakes to buy this junk. If it works great. If you get a bad one. You're out almost a grand. Don't do it. Now I'm kicking myself. I either pay $260 or get it back broken. Told me I crashed it at 33 mph. It drifted and hit a wall on its own. They change their answer about speed after I called them out even though it flew itself into wall as well. Still gave me ultimatum to pay. Worst service ever.
