I never thought when I was a kid I would have my own remote control UFO. This thing is so cool and easy to use. I had never bought a drone because I was afraid to lose my investment in the trees somewhere but the spark has so many auto features it is really easy to get it home everytime. You have to get the DJI remote to open the true potential but the spark by itself allows you to spend a small amount to realize how much you enjoy flying the dronebefore spending more on accesories. The small size of the spark really makes flying anywhere easy even in pretty high wind I am amazed at how it will juat stay still if you are not giving it any input. The video features are awesome as well, follow, auto spiral pan, various pan shots all at a push of a button. Love this thing.

It's great! It isn't 4k, but compared to the DJI phantom 1 or 2, it's cake to fly. video quality is pretty good. and for the price I can't complain. I'd recommend this to anyone but I'd also add to buy at least 1 extra battery.

Great Drone... BUT not the best value IMO

I have been flying drones for quite a while now and have extensively flown DJI drones like the Phantom 3 series, Mavic, Phantom 4 series, as well as drones from 3DR, Autel, and Yuneek. This little spark flies just as well as any of those. It has an actual battery life of 13.5 minutes (averaged after 15 flights) which is longer than the other drones in this category by a long shot. Gesture control actually works about 90% of the time, but its not that practical and kind of gimmicky. The idea is to leave your phone in your pocket, but most people would probably want to see their shot before they take it.. The quick shots are cool and work well, it would be cool to see these implemented on other DJI Drones. Here's the thing. For your $500 you get just the drone and a battery and a charger. You use your phone to control it. This limits your range to 325 feet horizontal 150 feet vertical and speed to 4mph. To fix this, you buy the controller. Add 150 for that by itself, or 200 more for the fly more to get the controller, 2 batteries, a quick charger and a bag. Now your at $700. if your a first timer and not concerned on the size, 500-600 will get you a used Phantom 3 Pro with probably some extras. 4k camera, 3 way gimbal, 18-20 minute battery, 3+ mile range, and more. $800 gets you a used Mavic, 4k cam, 4+ mile range, folds up, 25 min battery, etc. IF the controller was included with the base bundle i could recommend this. But with the extreme limitations, and the cost to make up for those quickly gobbles up any value. If you like the small size, dont mind the limitations of the camera/gimbal (only 1080p 30 fps 2 way gimbal) and dont mind the limitations w/o the controller, or even with one.. this IS a solid drone and IS fun to fly, but not the best value IMO.

Having owned a DJI Phantom for many years, I was intrigued to see such a powerful unit in such a small package. The Spark is quite easy to use even for a beginner. Using the DJI app it allows you to totally control the spark although I would highly recommend getting the fly more package with the extra battery and remote control. It even allows limited control via hand gestures. The camera takes very good HD video (no 4k). Using the remote it really opens this little drone up. I have flown it way out of visual range and still maintained complete control. If you are looking for an easy to use portable drone I highly recommend this one. Do note that flight time is about 12 to 14 mins per charge, so I recommend getting a few batteries.

Good drone to start with - battery life is short

I think this is a good entry level Drone to start out with, but so far what I've found is that the battery life seems very short for flight time. I wound up buying three extra batteries so I can get a decent amount of flight time before I have to recharge everything. I don't get much use out of the "gesture control" aspect of the drone, it's cool to mess with at first but not all that useful for what I use the drone for. I also bought the controller as running the thing solely off my phone just didn't really seem to be a great way to do it. By the time I bought the drone, the controller and the extra batteries and remote charger, I probably spent as much or more than I would have to get a Karma. But at least if I screw up and crash the thing, the cost of the drone is low so that's some comfort.

OK Drone But For Poor Battery Life & Mid·dling App

First things first, if you buy this drone, get at least these accessories right away: spare battery, battery charger, remote, microSD card and a USB cable to connect remote to phone/tablet. Secondly, throw away the useless and misleading manuals that come with the drone and remote. Instead, watch the tutorial videos and read the flight tutorials and user manuals in the app (click the 3 horizontal lines at top right of the main page, then select Academy). Here's my opinion of the Spark: Pros: useful app (when it works). The flight record is a nice feature which lets you review previous flights, including stick action. It has some really nifty quick shot features built into it that allow for automatic video recording on pre-programmed paths. The built-in editor is okay for basic videos. The Spark has a great camera that takes some amazingly stable video. It also has a sport mode which removes all speed inhibitors (as well as obstacle avoidance) and makes for some really fun flights. Other features that make this a very powerful entry-level drone: return-to-home, gesture mode, active track (kinda-sorta "follow me"), Cons: very poor battery life -- they claim up to 16 minutes of fly time, but I've only been able to get 11 max, and that includes the time it took to return to home because of low battery level. The user manual that comes with the drone and the remote are terrible and I wasted hours trying to decipher them in order to get everything connected for my first flight. It sure would have been nice for the app to direct you to the tutorials right on the first startup instead of having to dig for them. The app itself is a bit overwhelming; kind of information overload. It should offer a learning mode for low-level, low-speed flights, without all the popup alerts, warnings and information, to simply get a feel for how the drone flies. The app loses GPS and, more frightening, RF signal too frequently. It also loses the WiFi signal, which is why using a short USB cable to connect the remote with your phone/tablet is a better bet. Finally, the video recording can be spotty; all to often I get videos at 0Mb, meaning they were corrupted. Count on a good microSD card inserted into the drone for your footage. All-in-all, this is a fun drone with some powerful features, that would benefit from a better battery and an improved app.

easy to use, stable, great image quality. Main issue is the battery life which is only 10-12 min. The image is very stable even in winds of over 20mph, so gimbal does a great job in stabilizing the drone.

This is my first pricey gadget that I had to fly on air ever. I bought this to use for covering videos during vacations.wished I bought it with the controlller. Even without the controller this little thing gets the job done. May not have a 3 axis gimbal and 4K but it still a great little drone. The flight time isn’t the best but 10 to 13 minutes of flight time is more than enough for me. Plus video captures on this thing is so smooth and clear. Looking forward to take great cinematic aerial videos Got this during the sale so I save a 100 off Thanks Best Buy and DJi

This was my first drone purchase and I had it for about 6 months now and am overall very happy with it. Its small, lightweight and very easy to setup with you smartphone. Pro: Small and Portable Easy to use Can use indoors but be careful It holds up pretty well in windy situations Camera quality is amazing for the everyday user Cons: Battery life is about 12 mins No 4K camera I wouldn't recommend this for professional use because you dont have control of the video setting. Its only 1080p Overall I am happy with this purchase I ended up getting a few accessories for it like the Remote Control, an extra battery and a few memory cards.

Very happy with the Spark drone. If you want to get in to drone flying, the DJI Spark Drone is fantastic. It is very easy to fly and the 1080P video footage is spectacular. You won't be disappointed. Although battery life is somewhat short generally around 10 to 12 minutes flying time. Even with that amount of time you can get some amazing video footage. I also have the DJI Mavic Pro for my 4K video shoots. I highly recommend either one of these DJI drones.

We LOVE our DJI Spark. It takes up 0 space in our bags while traveling and gets such high quality footage for how small it is (and just in general). Definitely pair with the DJI remote and you will be set to get all of those great action shots we see on travel blogs! The battery does go down pretty quickly as to be expected. Getting a portable charger works great in a pinch!

Did a lot of research & the DJI Spark is a great drone for a beginner & lots of fun to fly. Has a lot of advanced features & shoots 1080p video. I have an SD card in the spark to capture the hi res video. Had my 1st crash that was my fault & luckily only had to replace 2 props. I highly recommend the DJI Spark to someone interested in drones & doesn’t want to spend a fortune.

This drone is not a toy, it can go above the legal limit but with all the assistant technology of DJI it really makes everything much simpler. I really love this little guy, would have prefer the big boy Mavic Air but halve the price, it really unbeatable. The only big downside of this drone is the 15 min battery, other than that, I really love my purchase

Nice starter drone for the beginner or a seasoned drone flyer. Lots of safety features to help keep the beginner out of trouble and lots of abilities for experienced pilot! Over a mile range, Great camera, Very stable with GPS. The only con I could see is short battery life, expect between 10 - 12 minutes flight time.

Really great little drone. Very stable and easy to fly. My five-year-old daughter was able to fly it successfully. Yet, you can go quite high and performs quite well at high altitude. Very stable, durable, high-quality and easy to use. Great product.

I was new to drones so I wasn't about to drop a ton of money on my first one. The spark was everything and more than I was expecting. 1080 is more than enough for web and mobile content and has provided me with awesome visuals. great product

I got this little drone after returning a defective Yuneec Breeze. So far no complaints. It's very small in size, very reliable and it takes great pictures and video. It is very responsive to phone and gesture control, but they are not as intuitive as I though they were going to be. I guess that with a little practice I can master it. Probably the best option if you want to get a selfie drone.

Was very excited to embrace DJI's smallest drone - especially to use it while traveling. Unfortunately the device is riddled with issues. From what I've read - much of what I experienced was in line with what others have reported on DJI's forms and on review sites inc Amazon's. Shortly after getting my Spark along w/ DJI's controller, I experience a verity of software issues ultimately having DJI's iOS app crash on a regular basis DURING FLIGHT! This was more than a little nerve-racking but fortunately the controller stayed functional... that is until my 10th flight. The 10th time I flew my DJI drone - I took off from my front yard and about 1 minute after take off, with the drone only about 45 feet away but moving up and away from the house - the drone completely disconnected from both my app and controller. Instead of stopping and returning to the home point it continued flying away from my house both - up and away until I couldn't see it behind trees and other houses. THE DRONE DID NOT RETURN. I spent about an hour canvassing the neighborhood to no avail. A bit deflated - I started researching more about this type of behavior on message boards and found that this is a combination software and hardware error. A week later I was in San Francisco and stopped by DJI's store there and in explaining to the what happend to the sales person - he acknowledged that his is a failure he's heard about before and that DJI should compensate me for the drone, recommending I file a ticket with the DJI customer service. This is not an easy task with a variation of questions, forms to submit and documents + flights records to upload. After 10 days of back and forth with the DJI CS team (operating in UTC+8 aka. China standard time), I was told that the problem was "Improper flight environment" - What the h#ll does that mean??? I then was offered 15% off a new same color, same model drone as long as purchased directly through DJI. NOPE! Why would I want to throw more money away on a faulty product??? Unfortunately I can not recommend this product nor any drone by a company that clearly doesn't stand behind it's devices.
