Doom was one of the first of this kind of game. This return is excellent with good graphics and sound and gameplay that feels nostalgic, but has enough new that it is really interesting.

Got this through Bestbuy cause the preowned price everywhere else was the same as their sale price, can't beat that. Great game too for Xbox one, just like the 360 but looks way better!

The Doom reboot for XboxOne is stunning, possibly one of the best looking 1st person games on the platform. The stable 60fps framerate also compliments the classic, frantic, running and demon-gunning action of the original, but with some nice modern touches and visual polish. The game has a hellish nightmare environment, piles of gore and gibs, and an interesting story, albeit understated. A must for classic Doom fans, but you might have weird dreams for a while!

The single player campaign is great. A lot of action throughout. Requires melee combat besides gunplay. Good pacing. The graphics are top notch & environmental effects. Real gory game. Bethesda done an excellent job. No story. So what. That's what this game is known for. Jump straight into the action. The multiplayer always keeps you on your toes and can be intense. Can play as demons and has a lot of mods by now. Refining this game even more. I recommend this game on its single player experience alone. Not a lot of shooters these days have this.

Just wow... Bethesda and ID software have done a fantastic job with this game. In my opinion, as long as you don't mind some blood and gore, this is the best FPS available for xbox one for both single player and multiplayer. I will break them down further separately. Campaign: Stunning graphics and fantastic art style. Maybe its just me but I am sick of all these shooters getting released where the armored characters look like shiny plastic toys with bright colors everywhere. It was nice to see extra effort and attention put towards the art style in this game. To go along with the great graphics and art was well-thought out and complex level design. They managed to create some great 3D labyrinths which reminded me enough of the original Doom while still feeling fresh. Also, there are plenty of secrets and easter eggs to find which really add to the replay value. Every time after I finish a level I think to myself, "I can't wait to go back and play that one again and find all the secrets I missed!" Pretty unique for games these days. The current trend is towards online multiplayer and the campaign is just there because they are supposed to have one and need to "check the box", which is completely NOT the case with Doom. Multiplayer: This portion of the game really surprised me. I was loving the campaign and after about 4 missions i decided to try out the MP (where i typically spend 99% of my time in FPS style games). After 2 games I wasn't sold and went back to the campaign to play another mission. After that I didn't have enough time to do another mission so back to the MP I went. After about 5 games I was in love.

If you enjoyed the classic shooter style of Doom or want a fun shooter that is over-the-top with great action, this is the game for you. This game takes all the best elements of the original (large labyrinth levels, crazy guns, demons on Mars) and adds some great elements of modern games such as weapon and armor upgrades and rewarding collectibles. The game also has a wide range of difficulties that should challenge gamers of any level.

Fun game for a first person shooter and good storyline

Doom is a fun game. It is a game where you have to keep moving all the time if you want to stay alive. I love all the different weapons you can use against opponents and all the different ways you can take your opponents out. I like that you get to play both indoors and outdoors at al base on the planet Mars. Try the Doom Demo for free if you not sure you want to buy the game and see if you want to buy the full game or not.

This is simply a fun game. It is extremely fast paced during combat. Outside of combat the provides plenty of secrets to find. It is violent and gore as a doom game should be. It is great that the story does not get in they way. You are the Doom Marine and your one goal is to kill demons. The multiplayer feels tacked on but I did not buy this game for it so it did not affect my rating. In the end buy the game and have fun.

If you were a fan of the original doom games on the PC this is the updated version for you. I was skeptical at first but was not disappointed. I played the original Doom games on the PC and it felt like the 2016 version of that time from the 90's. Developers took note of the good things about Doom 3 and the original games and combined them. Great job, any fan of Doom should definitively not miss out on this one.

I picked this up after reading some positive twitter posts about singe player campaign. Very glad I did, it's fantastic, and well worth it. Tons of weapons with smooth, very fast and frantic gameplay. No slow painful cover here. Multiplayer is a blast from the past. It feels just like it did back in the LAN days with crazy fast QUAD kills and running for the armor pick ups, with lots of new tweaks to keep it fresh.

Great way to bring back the franchise! gameplay is fast paced and a lot of fun. The heavy metal sound track is also very good goes great with the FPS gameplay. Not a lot there for story but the FPS action kept me going till I completed the single player. If your a DOOM fan I highly recommend checking it out. Multiplayer was so-so nothing special there but the single player experience is worth a play through

This truly embraces the spirit of DOOM. It is very different from modern shooters, but in a good nostalgic way. The arena style multiplayer was also a nice surprise.

If you like other game from this series this one is a welcome addition. Upon installing it also added a bunch of multiplayer packs and items for free. Fun game so far and totally worth my purchase price

Very good single player game. The multiplayer is good also. The reason I rated it 3 stars was due to coop. This is the second time I was fooled by early Doom reviews. The 1st was Doom 3:BFG...it was advertised that there was coop...yet no coop. This Doom was advertised that it was built for coop...but no campaign coop. Sure you can play coop in snap mode...but most of the games developed there are no so great.

DOOM changed gaming in the 90s with its fast paced and brutal first-person action. Since then shooters have reduced the pace and increased the filler. Even Doom 3 succumbed to the prevailing trends, slowing the movement speed and placing the player in claustrophobic environments with no more than a few enemies to challenge the player at once. DOOM (2016) returns to the franchises roots and pushes it to the extreme that modern hardware has made possible. There is no button to sprint. Your character charges full speed ahead at all times. The game doesn't dole out the enemies in small groups. It throws down the gauntlet and unleashes the horde. From a bloodied Mars base to hellish landscapes the game takes the player to another place and time that shines visually and disturbs graphically. The sound is spot on with the weapons thumping the bass and packing a punch. Not merely satisfied to revamp the classic gameplay there are added challenges that can be found within each level as well as upgrade options for your armor, stats, and weapons. This game is a love letter to the early days of the first person shooter but it also manages to feel new. It demonstrates that the elements that made the FPS revolutionary in the 90s are still brilliant today.

Got this for my son and he's excited to play this. He had played it previously on the xbox 360 & loved that's it's now available for the xbox one.

Doom is one of those games that goes back quite a ways. It was one of the earlier addictive games that captured our imagination. Now with newer, updated graphics, it is better than ever.

This game is crazy fast. They brought Doom back to the roots and they did a great job. Any first person shooter fan will love this game!
