I don't understand the hype. I was honestly expecting a better game.

An example of how to reboot a classic game franchise, in a modern Engine... Doom 2016, probably has the best Single Player campaign of any modern FPS... ID brilliantly designed the game to keep the action/combat fast-paced by rewarding you with health, armor & ammo when you take out enemies with up close melee attacks called "Glory Kills"... this not only keeps it more true to the originals, but separates it from the other single player FPS titles on the market.

I rented this game upon first release and hammered through it so I didn't feel left out. I then waited a year or so for the game to drop to $20 so I could take my time with every element of the campaign. Man, oh man. This game makes it fun to play a FPS again. It almost knows you may not be stoked at FPS, so let's go over the top with what a brute character you play as. I haven't even touched the Multi-player, but I just keep burning through the campaign and am never disappointed.

The game just starts. It's awesome. Fun, chaotic first person shooting that is crazy from the start, and the fast paced action only gets faster and better. Highly recommend this game.

This game is fast and intense. I loved it from start to finish. Excellent graphics, gameplay, and story. Doom doesn't disappoint.

This is probably the best shooter campaign since Half-life 2. Highly recommended, especially at the new lower price.

I have not even turned on Multiplayer, but the story is great. id's recent reboots of Doom and Wolfenstein have been really great. It is a return to first person shooters of the past with new features. You pick up health and armor unlike present day shooters where you just hide in cover until you recover. I have played for 6 hours so far and it has been really fun. Lots of hidden areas and items to discover. I was expecting this game to tank but the good reviews are good for a reason. Pick this game up!

I remember playing the original Doom on my PC many many years ago. This new iteration is both faithful to its origins, but also takes the concept to new heights. The game play is fantastic and the game itself just looks amazing. The one thing that felt like it was missing was an overall coherency in the story. I felt like I was left on my own to discover some of the cooler aspects of the plot. Admittedly, the designers were going after a fun shooter, but I really felt like this was a missed opportunity.

Everything you would want for a reboot! If you want a gut-spewing demon-smashing quick-button good time then you have found it!

I only played the story. Which seemed to lead up to another game. The story and gameplay really was just run and gun. No real strategy to the game. But nonetheless fun.

As far as gameplay goes, this reboot of the classic first person shooter gets everything right. It's fast paced, punchy, gory, and tense. The story takes a backseat, but that's sort of expected. Demons run amok, go kill them. That's all you need to know. I didn't try multiplayer, heard it wasn't anything to write home about, but that doesn't make much of a difference to me. If you're looking for strong single player action that hearkens back to the original's heyday, this is your game.

Fast paced & gloriously violent, a slightly different take on the modern FPS, in that, it's a shooter that forces you to keep moving, and rewards you for doing so. I think most people who would be interested in this have played it by now, I have, on the original PS4; but I picked it up again for the XB1X, to check it out in 4K, and it looks amazing, while still running at about 60 fps, with seemingly only slight dips here & there when things get intense.

Pretty good game. Storyline isnt super drawing but if youre a fan of fps games its right on point. Online is fast paced pvp with lots of character appearance customization

This game is a beautiful addition to the DOOM family. Fun campaign and awesome online multiplayer. Really can't ask for more.

The original Doom was violent, frenetic, and chaotic to be sure. This new relaunch (by the same company who still employ some of the same designers) is no less violent, no less frenetic, and significantly more chaotic in the best possible way. It's as though the same designers from the 90s stepped into the mid 2010s to make roughly the same game. The difference now is the violence is in incredible fidelity. It's a wild ride, but certainly not one for kids. At all.

This is a great new version of an already great FPS. Gameplay, graphics, and action is great. Just one great FPS!

Played to the first check point so far and liked it so far. I can only imagine that it will only get better once I get weapon upgrades. Fast pace with lots of action.

Great single player. Fun & Smooth MP. Definitely worth the money. You won't be disappointed if you like horror shooters.
