This game is absolutely fantastic! The gameplay is addicting, the story(while not the most important part of the game) was fun enough, and the music was pretty good too. The music wasn't nearly as memorable as the previous games but if I just play the other OST's over it then it feels much better. The game wasn't nearly as difficult as the DOOM: Eternal as I was breezing through it on Ultra Violent but I was having a black ripping and tearing through demons and collecting all the fun little items. I would definitely recommend this game for any shooter fans. If you want to feel like a heavy unstoppable demon-killing machine than this is the game for you.

I originally got this on the Xbox as part of a collector's edition from Bethesda and I will honestly say I think the order of how good this game runs is PC>XSX>PS5 but I bought this on the PS5 for a few reasons. I prefer collecting physical games, the Xbox version does look more “clean” with higher frame rates but I’m someone who gets motion sickness and I tried to turn off camera shake/motion blur but it didn’t help much.
The PC version would look amazing but I refuse to buy a PC single player only game that installs Denuvo so that lead me to PS5 and I think it looks amazing with a more of a grittier look to match the mediaeval art style. Definitely get this game on your preferred platform it’s a cinematic masterpiece.

While the game has its issues, and it's not quite as good as Eternal, I really enjoyed my time with this game all the same. Love the music (even if I still miss Mick), the blend of fantasy, gothic, and sci-fi in the game's aesthetic and settings, the enemy variety and designs, the Lovecraftian influence, etc. Just wish the whole game, or at least a hell of a lot more than a few MBs was on the actual, physical disc. Would have given the game a four or five star review if it hadn't been for that, otherwise it's a great game!

Good game play and story line a little slower than doom eternal but I think it’s a great game over all I’ve been playing non stop trying to beat the different difficulty levels

Excellent game. Feels like the classic doom which I really like. Doom guy feels like a tank and that’s how it’s supposed to be.

I'm sure Doom: The Dark Ages is an Incredible game. The actual physical release gets one star (I would give it zero stars if I could) because there is no actual game on any of the physical editions. I pre-ordered the Premium Edition for the PS5 only to find out as I was about to open the package for the game that the cover art for the game now reads "internet required." That got me wondering if this would be an online only game like Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6. I did some searching on Google on to find out that there is no actual game or at least even a V1.0 base game build on the disc. There is merely 85 MB of data on the disc (basically just an installer for the game) and the actual FULL game would have to be downloaded. The pre-order for the game on the Bethesda website did not show the cover for the game with box art that read "internet required" and the Bethesda website for the pre-order also said there would be a base game on the disc. There is no base game on the physical version. I e-mailed Bethesda support and asked them to confirm that there was indeed at least a V1.0 for the game on the disc and they could not confirm this. They told me the full game would have to be downloaded.
That's a shame and a practice of selling physical games I cannot support. Both Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal both have base games on the physical copies for said games. I ended up returning my physical Premium Edition of Doom: The Dark Ages back to Best Buy because of there not being an actual game on the physical copy I purchased. If Bethesda ever wants to reprint the PS5 Premium Edition of Doom: The Dark Ages again with an actual game or at least a V1.0 build for the game on the disc, I would be Happy to repurchase the game again. Otherwise, I'll pass on supporting physical Bethesda games unless they put an actual game on their physical copies. Best Buy came through like a champ. Bethesda and Microsoft (who owns Bethesda) did not.
And just for the the record, all of the physical games that I have for my PS5 and have purchased from Best Buy have actual games on the disc. There is zero excuse for there to be no game on the disc when a PS5 Blu-Ray disc can hold 100 GB of data (and Doom: The Dark Ages is an 85 GB install for the standard edition). Up your game Bethesda and Microsoft. And Thank You Best Buy, as usual.
