Good story, good fighting in game also and good graphics

I’m 30+ hours into this game, and while I enjoy it, I don’t love it. The game offers virtually no challenges, as I’ve never had to stop and level up to complete a dungeon, I’ve never had to try to figure out where to go or what to do next, and so on. The game does offer really nice characters and an interesting battle system, but again, it’s nothing memorable. If I suddenly lost the game tomorrow, without beating it, I wouldn’t be upset that I didn’t have a chance to complete it. I do like the story line, and I like that it incorporates some of the older dragon quest games into it.

This is my first time playing any dragon quest game And I have to say that it’s one that everyone should play. After playing through Octopath traveler I’ve been wanting to play another JRPG and this not only satisfies that urge but offers so much more since you can play it in both 3D and 2D. Overall I highly recommend this game.

Waited two years to play this on the Nintendo Switch!

If you like Zelda Breath of the Wild on Switch you will like this game. Its a fun mix of open world, anime style story telling, with simple to understand spell casting, menu navigation, and customized items. I think this is a better game to go to than the witcher 3 which is cumbersome in all aspects listed.

This game is awesome! My favorite rpg I have played so far! I have played a few and this a great expierience through and through. It has great animation and graphics. The enviroments are beautiful and vibrant and I just love exploring to see more and more! I love the Dragon Quest series and this is a must buy for any fan!

They don't call it the definitive edition for nothing, if you haven't played it yet on the PS4, definitely get this one. Even seasoned players have something to look forward to, with a new optional retro mode and the beautiful fully orchestrated soundtrack, as well as tweaks to make the game less grindy and ploddingly paced.

Having played the PlayStation 4 version, I can say this version is a great improvement. With 40+ updated or new features. The game is a good starting point for people new to the series. And the new Tockington quests are great for those who are already fans of the series. I would recommend to any owner of the Switch.

Dragon Quest XI S is a Switch port of the JRPG that came out a few years ago. It looks sharp and runs well and is packed with even more content and options. Definitely the definitive version

I picked this up on PS4 last year but held off playing it because of it coming to the switch. I have played a few of the games in the series but never finished any. This one will be the one that I play through to completion. If you are hesitant on whether or not you will like it, there is a demo that you can download for free. Your progress save transfers to the main game if you plan on purchasing after playing the demo. Highly recommended.

The last DQ I played was DQ8. The storyline for this version is something new. Love the graphics. It is definitely, a must-buy. I finished the game. Then restart with some restrictions to make the game harder to play.

The game was already one of the top JRPGs in the last few years and the switch port added so much rich bonus content and lore to it on top of a ton of QoL changes, that it's a hard game to pass up if you're a fan of classic JRPGs. Definitely must check it out if you haven't tried Dragon Quest games yet.

Yes the graphics arent as nice but the devs have done an amazing job porting the game to Switch. Its still beautiful, the gameplay is so satisfying and exploring the world is rewarding. I would put this in the category of feel good RPG. You are a hero and you feel like it. I love it. Would Recommend.

Game is great, but it is long. 80-100 hrs to beat, then 20-40 hrs post game. The story is pretty standard, but the combat is wonderful. Often in these games the combat becomes stale and repetitive, spamming your best move. This one requires strategy for different enemies and bosses

I cut my teeth on classic turn-based JRPGs and I've been missing them these past few years as the genre has moved toward more action-orienated combat. So, it was wonderful to play a "classic" JRPG, but this DQXI has so many tweaks to keep the action going. Pick up this game!

The Dragon Quest series is one of the best RPG series ever made. The game is gorgeous, featuring the classic design work of renowned artist Akira Toriyama. The game is whimsical, full of charm, and 100+ hours of incredible gameplay. If you own a Switch and like JRPGs, you need to get this game.

This is the complete package and pinnacle of JRPG gaming. A perfect game in the genre and true to its lineage. Japanese language audio track, orchestral music, many of QoL adjustments and just plain beautiful in handheld mode (not so much docked). A must have for any JRPG fan and Switch owners.
