I had read about this game, but never played it, until I recently purchased it. Thankfully everybody was right, this game is amazing, and endless. This one I really enjoyed getting into. It was hard to find a physical copy, but thanks to Best Buy, I picked one up.

Great game, play the demo if you're not sure if you'll like it. The fighting system can seem to be a button masher except for boss battles but the story lines are great. The demo is very long and will give you a good feel of whether you'd like to shell out for the actual game!

One of my favorite games on the Switch. Framerate does dip a little here and there, and graphics are not up to par with newer consoles or PC, but the game has a great charm and story. Easily over 100 hours of gameplay.

If you love the originals or even if you haven’t played them but love JRPGs this game is for you! If your unsure if you will like it, go to the nintendo Eshop and download the 15 hour demo! You heard right! It’s huge, and any progress you make in it transfers over to the full version!

Great JRPG! This is an enhanced version of Dragon Quest XI that combines the beautifully vibrant 3D version of the game previously released on the PS4 and PC, as well as the retro 16 bit version that originally released exclusively in Japan on the 3DS. The Anime visuals, gorgeous landscapes, turn-based combat and fantasy storyline all are nicely ported to the Nintendo Switch. The additional character storylines and gorgeous 2D Mode legitimately make this the "definitive" edition of this title. Well worth it for JRPG and Dragon Quest fans!

With it having the option to play it in 2D old school mode, it makes some places easier to navigate. The story is the same as the PS4 version but this version for the switch feels like the final full version that the original version for the PS4 should have been.

Classic rpg fun, what else to expect from dragon quest. Lengthy. Lovable cast of characters to level up and craft equipment for, lots of cool locales to explore in the adventure and bosses to fight. This game just put a smile on my face, wholesome gaming goodness.

An awesome entry in the Dragon Quest series. Great graphics, interesting characters, turn based combat, and great story make this game hard to put down.

Wife played this on the PS4 and when she knew it was coming to the Switch with all the extra features she quit playing it so she could play it on the Switch. She thinks it's a great game, but we grew up on the turned based RPGs so we're a bit biased towards them and Nintendo.

A great return to form with old school turn-based RPGs and storytelling. Music is horrendously repetitive,but the story, voice acting, and characters make up for it.

This game took me about 3 months to finish. I absolutely love Dragon Quest games. This is the one game to rule them all. It’s beautiful and never felt tedious. There’s so much packed in there. Some parts of the story even made me emotional.

Just buy it. It is so polished, and so excellent in design. Even if you've already played it, the addition of new content and the added soundtrack make it worth buying again and playing on the Switch. I loved every minute of the 200+ hours I put into it.

One of the best RPGs on switch. Glad I wait to play this version of the game. Runs great on switch and since this game requires a lot of time in can play in portable mode with out any issues . Also like the added content exclusive to this version, the 2D mode is great

Plenty of quality of life tweaks, orchestral music (Thank God), and even a 2D Version of the game make this the definitive version for sure. Looks really good on the underpowered Nintendo Switch, and plays great in handheld mode and docked. Highly recommend.

Huge game, lots to explore and do. Combat is fun, most mechanics work well. Story is a slow burn, but good.

This is Dragon Quest at it’s best! The characters are very unique & provide a lot of entertainment. The storyline was engaging despite being similar to other DQ Storylines. This is definitely a game to enjoy with the family time and again.

If you're interested in an extensive quality jprg look no further than DQ11. The overwhelming praise is for good reason. Plenty of hours and classic turn based fighting and the Switch edition has some special features like improved music quality and a 2d mode.

Purchased this for my son. I can't believe just how good this port looks. Obviously, there is a little lighting and contrast degradation from the PS4 version....but wow! And it runs at a solid framerate with no drops that he has noticed. Definitely recommend.

Truly one of the great JRPGs, and rivals DQV as the best Dragon Quest game. Traditional turn based combat, tons of spells and abilities, likeable characters, and a surprisingly great story. I didn't expect to love this game as much as I did. It's extremely charming, and you grow to really care about the characters and their relarionship with eachother. The story is simple to follow, but provides plenty of twists. It's known as being a bit long, but the episodic presentation makes this game really easy to play for a few hours at a time and pick back up without being lost. Everytime you start there is a brief recap of where you were at in the story, and it kept me wanting to play for weeks without fatigue or burn out. Great design, great story, great game. Truly a strong 9 if not 10/10 on Switch.

I got this game as a birthday present! This game is so much fun and I really enjoy it. It is a traditional RPG with turn based combat which is something I personally enjoy. If you like JRPGs that have many hours of play time than this is the game for you!
