This is the best Dragon Quest I've ever played and easily in the Top 3-5 of RPGs I've ever played. They did an amazing job on the dub, the characters are amazing and the music is tremendous. The gameplay is classic Dragon Quest, and you'll get 60-70 hours at least, though I'm approaching 100 hours on a completionist run.

Here is finally the return to classic turn based combat and stories of magical kingdoms and royal families. Dragon Quest has always been super fun and a good contrast to Final Fantasy or other RPGs of the same time. I always found them simpler and more relaxing for some reason
The added content on Switch makes this the best version by far.

So far, so good. I've only played about 10 hours, but I'm really enjoying it thus far. If you've played other DQ games, this one will feel very familiar. The option to switch between 2D and 3D mode is fun twist. I've mostly played 3D mode so far, and the graphics are wonderful. Loving the characters and story so far!

This title is another great RPG in the long running Dragon Quest series. It sure has come a long way from it's 8 bit beginnings on the original Nintendo system. Even though this game has been out for awhile on the PS4 it is still a treat to get to play this version on the Switch and it will provide any RPG lover with countless hours of fun.

I'm about halfway through the game now and absolutely loving it. I've played a few other DQ games and this one is certainly my favorite. The bones are classic turnbased RPG and it is fleshed beautifully. The 3D graphics look great. It has plentiful cutscenes and voiceacting, and a really enjoyable story and characters.

I beat this game on PS4 Pro early this year and I'm already feeling ready to go it all again on Switch. It's a shockingly good port, especially in handheld mode. Visually you're not missing that much on Switch, and the music is so much better. I'm mostly going to continue playing in 2D mode though, just so it'll be more fresh.

This game was great on PS4 and is even better on Switch! Despite a general downgrade in visual fidelity over the original, the added orchestral soundtrack, extra storylines, options to speed up battle, and 2D mode more than make up for it! This is highly recommended for newcomers and those that played the original alike!

The game has it's music orchestrated in this version instead of synthesized and it makes a world of a difference. The game starts off slow but feels like an epic adventure is building up. It has great characters and I have yet to finish it but already have plenty of hours in, content is very much worth.

Do you like dragon quest? How about jrgs? Do yourself a favor and get this game. Great art and music. That sweet sweet turn based combat and plenty of that old school grind. Hunt for treasure, craft gear and do side quests. It's all here and looking better than ever. 12 hours in and can't get enough.

I traded in the ps4 edition for this and I'm not disappointed. I'm getting a whole new 2d game and more store. On thing the ps4 version had that this one does not is targets. In the ps4 dq11, there were about 5 targets scattered across each region and you had to hunt them down. The switch version does not have them, which is actually a relief.
The 2d game and 3d game are separate but with items carrying over and you can jump backwards into chapters to find things or replay story. You switch at the save points. One downside is that if you play 5 chapters of 3d and go backwards to ch 1 2d, you cannot jump forwards again to the newer chapter in 3d. You have to start at an equal place in the story to the older 2d chapter you're in.
I'm very pleased with my purchase, and I highly recommend dqx1

I played dq 11 on the ps4 and liked it, but didn't finish it. When able to go from tv to handheld, however, a game like this truly shines. The inclusion of a classic looking 16 bit mode is fun, as well as the additional content. If you own a switch and like RPGs, this game is an absolute must.

This was a gift for the wife. We both enjoy a good rpg, she is arpund 10 hours in and enjoying it. Guess will wait for my turn after. The animation looks pretty nice on the switch, the art is based on Akira Toriyama, if familiar with dragon ball, you will see the similarities

This game is incredible. Combining the PS4 version with a 2D mode from the 3DS version, there's tons of new content PS4 players wont' have seen, plus just new content exclusive to the Switch version. Easy recommend.

Easily one of the best iterations in the Dragon Quest franchise for me. I love the graphics and story. The ability to switch back and forth from 2D to 3D is fin and engaging. Add that to the ability to play on the go on the Nintendo Switch and this is a must have in my mind.

Dragon Quest XI is basically JRPG comfort food. It doesn't nothing out of the ordinary, but does all of the typical JRPG cliche's almost perfectly. The Switch version is the definitive version, with an orchestral version of the soundtrack. Must buy for JRPG fans.

This is the best version of this game to play. Although graphically it is not the best - game play, features, music, etc. is all enhanced and even new from the PS4 and PC versions. Well worth a play on the Switch.

One of the best RPGs that came out this year [2019] and now you can take the adventure on the go. The story is pretty good nothing earth shattering but still solid. The gameplay is a standard turn based like Pokemon, so if that's what you like then you'll love the gameplay.

This game is beautiful and so much fun to play. It is one of those games that just shows you how far things have come in video gaming. If you love RPGs then this is a must have. If you are unsure you can download the 8 hour demo on the eshop for free. I highly suggest.

Not only is this a great throwback to the series roots, it includes the orchestral soundtrack missing from the PS4 version and also includes the 3DS version, so you can switch between the old 2D graphics and 3D graphics. A great and long RPG for any fan of the series.
