I love the music, the characters, and the plot so far. The fact that I can play a full length JRPG like this on the Switch is awesome. It also has a 2D mode which I haven't tried out yet. But you can only get this feature on the Switch version which is another plus.

Easily one of the best RPGs of all time. The story(ies) are so well written and the game play works for casual players as well as hardcore players who love customization, side quests, and character building. A definitive game on the Switch that everyone should own.

This game took me just under 100 hours to complete. In that time I rarely found myself farming or doing anything truly repetitive. The story beats kept me going at such a wonderful pace. After 50 hours I figured they were going to start stretching the story, but no, it was fresh and wonderful throughout. The combat did get old after a while, but if you enjoy classic turn based combat RPGs you know what to expect. Visually the game is one of the best on the system. The music is also very good, but DOES end up getting old after 60 hours. I would say a must have for RPG fans, but 100 hours is a HUGE commitment. I would say, if you have the time it is truly worth playing.

I enjoyed this so much more than I thought I would after playing a demo- that I decided to get a full copy. It has a good story. Hours of play. Graphics aren't bad. I'm enjoying the characters and their personalities. The little side quests are fun too.

It had been a few years since I had played a Dragon Quest game and this one didn't disappoint! The graphics are great on the switch and playing on the go is great. Sticks to the traditional DQ series and feel. Highly recommend for anyone who likes RPGs.

Has tons of extra content compared to the original version. This is truly a definitive edition and they did everything right. I'm about 30 hours into the game and still have a long way to go! If you're a fan of JRPGs, this is definitely worth a pickup.

This is a cute game that is easy to play. The storyline shows the main characters doing good for others and respecting family values. I like that the game utilizes a sense of spiritualism throughout game-play without being preachy.

Please buy this game on Switch if you have any interest in RPGs or just good games in general. Square Enix deserves to be rewarded for the quality work they put into it. While it may not be as "demanding" and "unbelievable" as games like Doom or Witcher 3 on Switch, this is a true AAA quality game with more content here than on any other platform. Dragon Quest also just feels at home on Switch with a mostly wholesome, slightly goofy, charm like many of Nintendo's own games. Most importantly, it's just a very good JRPG. If you like big, story-driven, turn-based combat adventures, you'll likely love it. If you've been curious but apprehensive of playing big, demanding RPGs in the past, check this one out. It is both elegantly simple and simply elegant. A modern JRPG in its most refined form.

If you want an RPG that harkens back to the glory days of level grinding and turn based combat, look no further. Plus the Switch version has an exclusive 2D mode that makes the game look like a retro Super Nintendo RPG.

This game is great but is even better on switch minus graphics. here are the pros and cons Pros: full orchestral soundtrack quality of life improvements. 2d mode with vignettes from every past dragon quest game. take anywhere more side stories for your party members cons: Graphics are downgraded compared to ps4 version.

This game is a well developed and the game play both portable and Docked. The graphics is a notch above most games. I played the Demo and now the Physical game and can say being able to load the Demo save and continue is great. Gameplay is also intuitive once you learn them and doesn't require alot of memorization to get into the game. So for a 2019 game is a must have. Only issue is if you go portable with a graphics intensive game it will take a toll on the battery. But that is the trade-off that one takes but game play in return is one to experience.

I played the heck out of Dragon Quest 7 for PS2. This plays much like that with great voice acting. Obviously, much smoother. Fun game play. Fun story. Fun side quests.

This game is one of the best RPGs I've ever played and it has so many hours of attractive gameplay and storyline. I bought it for the Switch so I could have it on the go.

In my opinion this is the best version of the game available. JRPG's are just great to play in portable fashion and this has all the content included, with great graphics and music.

Love the series since Dragon Warrior days. Really glad I waited for the Switch version of this. Portability is a huge plus. Also ability to SWITCH to 2D mode brings back nostalgia.

This one is the full package - classic RPG gameplay, fantastic art, and the symphonic soundtrack is top tier. It's worth the price just for the soundtrack alone.
