What a great effort this was to get this game on Switch in such a definitive version... Most people don't know this, but the developers promised Iwata before he died that they would do whatever they could do to get the game onto Switch, and they DID... THAT'S what you call "respect"... This is a giant game that ANY RPG gamer would probably fully enjoy...

Ever since Final Fantasy went from RPG to videos for gameplay, I have not played RPGs. This game finally goes back to the old way of playing them. Weapons, armor, accessories, NO RANDOM BATTLES (except while on ship or in 2D mode), can't give this game enough accolades.

Really fun game even for people who don't normally like JRPGs like myself. Loved the whimsical nature of the setting and plot. The enemy designs are so fun. Instead of grinding boring mobs you can simply auto-battle on high speeds and then battle normally on more interesting encounters such as new enemies or boss battles. Has a demo on the eshop for those on the fence.

At first I played this game and I was like “what in the world is this game?” but then after hours had passed I was still confused. 10 hours in and I’ve finished entering my character’s name, and boy what a ride it’s been. This is a great old school Japanese RPG like Final Fantasy 3 or Setsuko No Deskai (Eternal Requiem). Highly recommended for all my JRPG fans out there. Check me out on Twitch: KBeamsSushiBoy

My son bought this game he like the new games and love to play

I've only played about 12 hours so far, but the game is an excellent JRPG. Having a full-fledged Dragon Quest game on a capable portable device makes putting in the many hours it takes to complete a Dragon Quest game seem more approachable. The game play is classic DQ and the characters and enemies are colorful and over the top as usual. I hope to see more DQ games built for the Switch in this fashion!

I have been a Dragon Quest fan since the NES days. Loved all the Dragon Quest games up to this point as well as the exceptional DW Builders games as well. This game is through and through what a RPG should be. Great characters, great combat. They did not skimp on this version. Definitive is exactly what this is. Not just adding 1 new feature but just tons of things. Worth every penny.

Played the demo before getting this. Enjoyable adventure.

This really is the Definitive Edition of this lovely game. The soundtrack and voice acting alone makes this worthy of your purchasing dollars. Lots of fun, really engaging. And if you're still not sure, check out the free, 10 hour long demo. But you won't make it too far in before heading out to pick this one up!

Great graphics, fun characters, long story... just a fantastic game!

So... if you like JRPGs the latest entry in the Dragon Quest franchise will not only keep you invested in the story but will give you hours of grinding and gameplay so you will not feel like buying this game was a waist of money.

Great game for the Switch. Definitely a time investment but it gives you alot of bang for the buck. Overall I think this is better than the playstation version due to the option to switch to 2D style graphics. Must play if you like japanese RPGS

Great game that looks great on the small screen with even more content.

Dragon Quest 11S is so good. The story is intriguing. The character development is what I love about this game. Obviously it’s not for everyone, as the long hours the game requires may turn off some people. However if you like a game with long hours, then this one is a game you can’t miss. I’m currently around 70 hours in, and honestly I don’t want it to end.

This is handsdown one of the best Switch games and RPG's I have played. I'm over 30 hours in and I've had an outstanding time with the story and game play. Extra kudos to the developers for taking their time and adding a lot of accessibility options to the settings. You really can adjust the game and play it one handed if you needed to. Great for relaxing

Great game and graphics. Story is compelling and interactive.

Best RPG in years. If you've never played a dragon quest game or are looking to get into RPGs this is the perfect starting point. The characters and writing are fantastic. Its a grand adventure where you'll laugh and cry maybe. The gameplay is simple enough for anyone to enjoy but still has depth to keep it interesting.

This game was almost TOO long. So much fun all the way through though and a definite value if you can find on sale.
