Customers are saying

Customers value the fun gameplay, impressive graphics, and smooth combat that Dragon's Dogma 2 offers. However, many customers are disappointed and feel misled by the false advertising and lack of the promised steelbook case that was advertised as a pre-order bonus.

If you grew up with the gaming series you’ll love it, but if not you’re going to feel otherwise. The gameplay like combat and density in graphics are one of a kind, but the content that is offered is very subpar like the original Dragon Dogma… hopefully there’s a DLC in progress because that’s what fixed the original Dragon Dogma and unfortunately this one will have to Follow suit as Well

I have over 20 hours into this game right now during this review. I can not get enough of it, this game is so much fun. Definitley take your time with it and do not rush it. No fun in that. Archer class 10/10. Magick Archer Class 20/10! Sidenote: the steel case is beautiful and i had no problems with shipping.

If you played the original Dragon's Dogma, (put many many hours into that game), you already knew before buying this game that this sequel would be pure awesomeness, and that's exactly what it is. Worth the money in every aspect, you wont be disapointed!

A very different kind of open world rpg, main focus is on combat and fighting boss like monsters. If you like games such as Skyrim or The Witcher, give this game a try

Pretty good game. I only put about 10 hours in and then got stuck in an infinite loop of going to jail. Plan to play again one day. Wish I would have gotten the steelbook, but seems like they were very limited in quantity.

Dragon's Dogma 2's magnificent sceneries and different locations are breathtaking. The game's complex and extensive lore makes it easy to lose hours in. Combat is the series' centerpiece, with slick controls and several skills. Every battle requires skill and strategy, whether against hordes of opponents or towering bosses. However, the promised steelbook case may be absent for some gamers. This doesn't affect the game's fun, but it disappoints nonetheless.

Like many reviews, i found the gameplay repetitive and the story un-inspiring. Theres so mich the game doesnt tell you and without the ability to create multiple saves, you end up missing a lot once you’ve past various spots. I know some will say thats the beauty of the the game, but many casual gamers like myself will not want to restart the game after investing hours just to see a minor storyline play out. My other complaint is the enemies are the same three or four groups throughout the entire game so that gets old real quick. And without a real fast travel system, you end up fighing the same folks over and over aging just trying to get from place to place. But this is just my opinion, others may love the challenge of travel and exploration. The pawn system is unique and fun though. I’d recommend the game based on that aspect alone, knowing that not everyone will agree with my gripes!

Dragon's Dogma returns with a sequel that lives up to expectations, in which you fully immerse yourself in a universe that is customizable thanks to the different vocations available. Despite a few frustrating mechanics, this is an outstanding RPG title and instant classic for the genre.

Opposite happened to me. I received my Pre-Order digital and Steelbook on Release Day, via FedEx no less, but my game is nowhere to be found. UPS last tracked it somewhere in Los Angeles, CA. with an updated estimated delivery date of 3/27. Of course, they are less than useless there at "Big Brown"...I know why they are called that. On Friday they even assured me that I would be receiving my package by EoD on 3/22. Even I knew that was a lie. No way it was coming from Los Angeles to the East Coast in 8 hours. As of right now, it just left LA. Best Buy, do yourselves a favor and drop UPS for anything. Heck even DHL is better! I'd recommend the item, but pray they send via FedEx (even as awful as they are usually).

If you love big open world fantasy rpgs, this game is for you. The character creator is very good, lots of options and very in depth. If you want to go into small details for your character you can spend hours in the character creation suite. The combat is fun and satisfying, the vocations or fighting classes give you so much variety to try different vocations whenever you want. There are micro-transactions to help “aid” you but you do not need to buy them to go through the game. This game encourages exploration and dares you to go off the beaten paths. There are some cons currently such has some stability issues on Xbox but Capcom is very good on addressing these issues fairly quickly. I encourage you to pick up a copy and give it a chance!

Dragon's Dogma 2 has much of the same elements that made the first so enjoyable in a new, more spacious region to explore. Still, like the first, it has moments where it falls short. I've not experienced any performance issues on Xbox but I've still dealt with the occasional bug and I really do wish they hadn't split apart the Strider vocation into Thief and Archer. Nonetheless I've already sunk many hours into the game and suspect I will play many more.

I’m enjoying the game itself, but this review is more about Best Buy. Like so many others, I preordered this game for the steelbook. The game just arrived today (4 days after release) and it came in a standard case. I’ve seen a couple other reviews about the steelbook being shipped out separately, so I’ll wait a bit longer to see if one shows up before returning the game. If the steelbook does show up, then I’ll update my review. If not, then I will never preorder from Best Buy again. May never even shop with them again, period. Its not okay to advertise a steelbook and give next to nobody the preorder upgrade. If it does ship out separately, then they need to make that clear when people make the purchase as to avoid all this hubbub and outrage. Not cool.

Game was in good condition, but the reason I pre-ordered from Best Buy was for the steelbook. I pre ordered it ahead of time and was told I wouldn't receive it.
