Drifter
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have no problems with Best Buy, just the quality of this particular controller. I expect new products to work without flaws. This paddle drifts left right out of the box.

Watch out for stick drift.
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Broke after less than a year (stick drift) and because the serial number on the back is smeared from a faulty printer (see picture) neither BB nor Sony will honor the warranty.

Buy the Geek Squad product replacement
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have gone through 3 of these in less than a year. Buy product replacement. The joy stick tends to jam and slowly gets worse. No Joy!

They wear out fast if you are a competitive gamer.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.2 part review. 1. As far as the product it should have 5 stars, they work great right out of the box. Little to no lag if you do a little research on set up on YouTube. Lighter than most controllers. Very easy to use. Plus unlike the 1st PS4 controllers you can tell its better quality. All of the various color controllers tend to be better made than the original common ones. So yes 5 out of 5 for a normal user. 2. As for in a pro gamer setting I give it a 2. Its simple I wear one of these controllers out every month. Tell signs stick drift, decreased reaction time between pressing a button vs reaction on screen. 1st stick wear out, followed by R2 L2, followed by R1 L2. Finally the point you must replace X an O wears out or sticks. It isn't due to throwing or being rough on the controller. They just wear out. I am getting close to pro level at Madden. So close to 3 to 6hrs of gaming a night every night use. In conclusion I oddly love these controllers and I've tried all of them as well as XBox controllers. They are my favorite. Just make sure you buy from Best Buy only, purchase the protection plan, and you are all set. Great product, and perfect for a Normal Players.

Disappointed in the Durability
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased two PlayStation 4 controllers at the very end of May as a gift for my son’s 31st birthday. Now, here we are at the end of June—barely a month later—and both controllers are already having issues. One has a faulty trigger, and the other has problems with the analog stick (the little swirly knob thing), which just broke off. These are basic functions that should last longer than a few weeks with normal use. Honestly, they just don’t feel as durable as the PS4 controllers I remember from years ago. What’s frustrating is that the price of these controllers hasn’t gone down, even though PS4s aren’t being actively supported like before. And no, I didn’t buy the insurance or extra warranty—because I trusted the quality based on past experience. My original controller from years ago is still functioning, so I expected the same from these new ones. Would I buy them again? Unfortunately, I might have to, just so my kids can play their games—but I wouldn’t want to. I definitely think Sony or the retailers should offer a better warranty than just 15 days. Once that window closes, you’re pretty much stuck if something goes wrong. Bottom line: the quality just isn’t what it used to be, and at this price, it should be.

Need to be more durable
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not great controllers. The feel and design is great, the best even, but they are not durable. I have been through almost a dozen over the life of my PS4 because the analog sticks start to drift after about a year of use. Make sure to get Geek squad on them (I know I know, the are under $100) cause you are likely to be replacing them after a year.

Didn’t expect it to be faulty this soon
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everything was perfect except the thumb sticks, or the analog sticks you might call. The right one started drifting literally little over a week after I got the controller, and then another week passes by and now the left one is kinda messing up as well. And it’s really frustrating because I don’t think it’s the retailers fault, but more on Sony producing such cheap analog sticks for a controller that’s $60, which definitely isn’t worth the price when the sticks just end up being faulty so soon, not even lasting a year later. I was hoping it’d last me longer than it did. And this is a common problem as well, you’re essentially gambling to see if you’ll get a good controller or not, seeing how long this controller will last you until the analog sticks give out, and for $60, kinda ridiculous because you’re not supposed to worry about these things when purchasing something at this price.

My money ‘drifted’ away
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Okay, this is not Best Buy’s fault, lemme make that clear. The whole purpose of me buying this was because I honestly did not take care of my last two controls and they both started drifting. Since the ps5 has different controls I decided to finally buy me another ps4 control since idk if they will always sell them. At first it worked 100% and I was excited no drifting. However, a week and a half after buying, the right joystick is drifting. I have taken 100% great care of this controller this time and it didn’t last long before drifting. To be honest, I could have taken it back for a refund or repair would have even been ok but I got lazy and I think too much time has passed now. Either way, I’m very dissatisfied with how this occurring problem happened so quick. What is going on sony? I’ve always been a Sony fan but these drifting joysticks need to stop.

Good if not for Quality Control issues
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a Star Wars themed controller that came with my PS4, and it still works the best out of my 3 by far. My second controller was the anniversary edition, which still works fine. However, my third controller (my first Jet Black controller) has been the one that has given me the most grief. Upon my initial purchase, the plastic body on the controller was shifting up and down, so I exchanged it. The second one had a similar problem (one which progressively got worse), and it also had a sticky R1 button; so I exchanged it again. This third controller was a much newer model, one that had released in tandem with the PS4 Pro (still a Dualshock 4, just with some material differences). Once again, it featured some sticky buttons, but this time the left joystick was also getting stuck on occasion. Finally, I exchanged it once more and, thankfully, have not had any more of these problems. Overall, these controllers are usually fantastic. They're generally sturdy, comfortable, and responsive, as well as pretty. Unfortunately, it seems that Sony's QC department isn't up to its task.

My least favorite Playstation controller.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PS4 controller's form great though I think it feels rather large. The change of triggers from the PS3 Controller is also a plus. My negativity for this controller comes from the fact that from my experience, don't last very long. I take care of all my belongings to the point where I still have a working NES and SNES consoles and controllers. But I am currently on my 3rd PS4 controller because the analog stick has stopped registering some directional inputs. I game a few times a week but usually for less than 10 hours in the entire week. I never drop these controllers and they look like they are in mint condition. Yet, they cease to work properly. My only other gripe is the battery life should be longer. I often forget to set it to charge, usually after minor things like watching Netflix and then am only able to play less than 5 hours unless I charge. Not a big deal but when compared to the PS3 or JoyCons that reach 20+ hours, it is a bit of a let down.

Great controller but.....
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Recived package with corner ripped open exposing the box, alongside with damage to the box, I did not think anything of it since the controller looked brand new but not sure if it was the shipping carrier or the store that shipped it who did that. Bought this controller "new" and when I opened it, it looked and worked brand new until a week later charging stopped, right analog stick started to drift in 360 without stopping. I give it 2 stars since this happened, but this is the first time it has happened and Best Buy usually ships their products in great condition.

Disappointed that after 2 months it drifted
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Thank god the Bestbuy employee told me about the 10 dollars for the warranty because I would have blown 60 bucks without any replacement. After 2 month no dropping or anything like that my right stick started drifting to the right. I'm disappointed that it was such a short time for it to malfunction. My previous controllers I bought from here lasted 1-2 years without issues. Just normal wear and tear. I'd suggest getting a 2 year warranty for 10 bucks since at least you will have a backup plan if something goes wrong.

Controller is good but has poor build quality
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my third PS4 controller in three years. I am a responsible adult In a child free home and these controllers continue to just fall apart after normal use. Sony must do something to improve these controllers or else a third party might come through and make controllers that are actually reliable. The R2 trigger will get stuck after normal use and can only be fixed by opening up the controller and removing a broken plastic piece. The rubber on the analog sticks fall apart after normal use as well. I would only recommend this product because there is no other alternative

R1 button
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My R1 button registers presses when the button isn't depressed. This prevents me from playing many games, easily using home screen, and other apps. The amount of time played on the controller prior to it breaking is completely unacceptable. Additionally the battery power on these is horrendous. Make sure to adjust your settings on your system to force the controller to turn off quickly to save power. This would be a one star review however the controller's functionality when working and charged is very good.

I keep turning left
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for 2-player games, and the joystick appears to have a slight preference for the left. Even when watching TV shows and the controller is on a flat surface not moving, it will sometimes start scrolling to the left. It's useless unless your actively using the joystick because keeps going left. Color is beautiful, the mechanisms are messed up.

Good luck with PS4 Controllers
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony is going downhill with PS4 controllers. I've had this 1 for maybe a month now and the left joystick is starting to drift. Sadly this is a replacement from the last controller. I've had this happen 5 times in a year & a half. I've contacted Sony & was told they're more focused on the PS5.
