Many appreciate its performance and compact size, while some find it a bit noisy and occasionally prone to jamming, particularly with CDs or credit cards. I 've had this paper shredder for a couple of months now, it's used for home use only and it works fine. I haven' t tried 10 sheets although I have shredded about 3/4 sheets and a credit card, it did the job. Only time will tell as to how long it will last.

I purchased this shredder to replace an "oldie but goody" and have not missed the oldie at all. It easily shreds at least 6 sheets of paper at a time so far (haven't tried more than that). Shredding CDs is rather loud so I don' t do that any more. Credit cards are no problem at all.

I bought this as a deal of the day. I did not expect it to work as well as it does. It shreds papers well. This is a great value for the money, especially of it is on sale. I have bought other shredders from Staples and they were not very powerful or the limit switch kicks out even when only using a couple of pages in a shredder rated for 10 pieces.

After reading the reviews for this shredder I was skeptical. A few people mentioned that it was very loud - It's not that loud - This is the fifth shredder I have bought over the years and it is by far the best one at or near this price point anywhere. I highly recommend it!

I have had this shredder for about 2 months of light duty and it has tackled anything that I have thrown at it! CD's, credit cards and, 6 to 10 sheets of paper at one time. Hasn't hung up on me yet! Just follow directions and coat one of the papers with vegetable oil every 100 to 200 sheets of paper ran through and it will work like a champ!

I checked a few different merchants (Staples, Walmart, Amazon, Ebay, etc.) to locate an effective, quality, and lowest cost shredder to shred several bags of paper that accumulated over the years. After comparing options among merchants I decided to purchase the Dynex - 10-Sheet Crosscut Paper Shredder from Best Buy (which had the lowest cost, best features, etc.) and I am glad I made the purchase. The shredder is very powerful (yet safe), I love the auto-feature (which only turns on the shredder when there is an actual paper going into the shredder blades (which saves on energy). I also like the safety alarm (red light that goes on if the machine is plugged in and on when attempting to clear the paper out of the bin to remind customers to turn off the shredder before emptying the bin to prevent any accidents). I like the fact that I can easily shred stacks of paper, cards, old credit cards, papers with staples in them, etc. And I liked the fact that there is a little clear window at the front of the shredder so I can see when the shredder bin is getting full of paper. Based on the product photo, I was a little concerned that the shredder may not shred the papers into tiny enough pieces (I had to shred a few important documents with private information) and for that reason I was also considering the Dynex Microcut version for a higher price but I was pleasantly surprised when the size of the shredded paper was very tiny, much smaller than in the photo, and exactly what I needed to eliminate the concern associated with shredding private papers. However, keep in mind that the credit card cutting feature does not have the cross cut option and it just cuts straight across, so the entire credit card number MAY show up in the shredded pieces (for extra security you may have to cut a credit card through the numbers then put the pieces through the shredder). Prior to purchasing the shredder I noticed that customer reviews expressed concern that the paper entry point was not big enough but I didn't find that to be a problem (remember the shredder is built for 10 pages of paper or less), I also think the entry point size is a safety feature to prevent customers from getting hurt when shredding. The first weekend that I used the shredder, I ended up with 10 full large garbage bags of paper and the shredder was quick and powerful. The only down side to the shredder was that I had to make sure to empty the paper bin before it got full - otherwise the shredded paper would back up into the shredder motor and the shredder would completely shut off automatically (the reverse option doesn't work and I couldn't turn it back on). At that point, I would have to turn off and plug out the machine, then remove all of the paper from the bin and remove all of the stuck paper from the motor, then leave the shredder unplugged for several minutes to cool down and when I returned the shredder would start working like normal again. It seems the shredder over heats when paper gets stuck in the motor (which is preventable) but that's my only concern with the shredder. Overall, I am glad that I made the purchase and I would highly recommend the shredder to others (especially for personal use, home businesses, small businesses, etc.).

I needed a replacement for an old shredder, small enough to fit on a pull out shelf in my desk. This unit worked out perfect, was a good price, and does as good as my old shredder, plus you can shred expired credit cards.

We had our last shredder for so long that we were leery about purchasing another kind. We did not want to spend as much money for another at this time. We searched until we thought we found the best one for our money. It shreds exceptionally well and after a week or so our worries were gone. The only problem with it so far is that my wife can't empty it very easily due to the shredder top being so heavy. We have it sitting on top of the desk, due to lack of floor space, which makes it hard to lift up.

Once you get the paper where it needs to be, this shredder works pretty well. The problem is getting the paper in the right spot to trigger it. In my opinion, the shredder head is poorly designed. There are times when you insert a piece or several pieces of paper and the the shredder head triggers, but the paper doesn't get pulled into the head. You have to move the paper around until it catches. This happens more with smaller papers than it does with letter size sheets. The second issue is with the small bin capacity. There are times when it seems like I almost take as much time emptying the bin and I do shredding papers. One thing I will give Dynex credit for is putting a handle on the shredder head to make it easier to remove the head from the bin.

I've been in the market for a shredder for a while now, and when I saw this item go on sale I couldn't pass it up. At first I was worried that it wouldn't perform well due to the low price, but I was amazed when I first started it. Great deal for a quality shredder! Get one and protect your identity!

I bought this for home use. I haven't used it that heavily but it's held up so far. I like the handle which makes it convenient to lift off the top when emptying. My previous shredder didn't have a handle & it was very inconvenient. It has not jammed on my yet.

Good value, easy to use design, love the color, automatic on / off controls, cord is adequate length, ergonomically friendly, accepts a thicker stack of papers than my old unit, seems the shred right through staples. I don't have to worry about identity theft because there is no way you could piece my shredded papers back together.

I've needed a new shredder for a while and was very impressed with the reviews I read for this one. Thus far I have been pleased with the easy of use, the handle for lifting the head and the various fine features. I think it's a great value for the money spent.

I'm very happy about this purchase. It is very reliable in it's capability to shred large amounts of paper. I try to take out staples to keep the blade sharp, but if I miss one, I know that it will not brake the machine because it has the capability to shred staples, CDs and credit cards.
