The cable works good the only dislike I had with the cable was no instructions or disk for drivers came with the cable. I went to the MFG web site and trying to find the drivers for this cable to be compatible just about drove me nuts. After much frustration and digging I finally downloaded the correct drivers and was able to use the cable.

It's does what it's for, I used it to connect a machine to my computer and it works great

I returned this item, so I can't review it specifically. I'm writing this to warn you that it's not the same as a VGA-USB connector. I'm basically computer illiterate, so I went to Best Buy for some professional help. I needed the VGA adapter, but when I saw the price, I asked the associate if they had any less expensive. He pulled this off the rack. I opened it and saw that it looked similar to the VGA connection, but because the box said PDA/Serial Adapter, I questioned him. He said, "Yep, trust me". After driving home (30 minutes) I discovered it wasn't right, the number of pins is different. So an hour later, I arrived home with the right product. Be careful of the associates' supposed "knowledge". I had to give it stars, so based on other Dynex products, I'll assume it's good.

I picked one of these up to connect my AutoStar telescope to my new computer for programming. I plugged it into my USB port, waited a couple of seconds until Windows told me it was ready, plugged in my telescope, opened up the AutoStar software, and was all set to customize the programming of my telescope. I'm very pleased with this little device.

Serial to USB adapter worked great. Windows 8.1 pro found it without any trouble. The cost was about twice as much as my normal supplier but I didn't have an option

Product used for work and is easy to use; previous product (not related) required cd install and caused comp to BSOD. This one works like a charm

Bought this to connect the existing GPS on my vessel to my new navigation computer. It worked like a dream and was easy to install.

This thing works great. I have had a couple of these and they dont always work the way you want. I had been looking for one exactly like this as the last one had folded over of its own weight and snapped the internal connections and became very unreliable. This one, works great. Installed into win8.1 quickly and easily. Had to look it up in the device manager, but then it worked like magic. Thanks!

Bought this to work with a Uniden NASCAR Scanner to program easier for race weekends (Go #14 Smoke!) which only came with an old-school serial cable. Needed this USB converter cable to plug into my computer and it worked great with my scanner and computer. Only downside is the cable it a bit expensive, IMO.

Why they still make equipment with serial connections... I don’t know. But when I needed an interface this worked.

This is an excellent addition for newer computers with no RS232 port and need to use with older accessories.

Not much to say except we had a few older devices that used a serial interface that needed firmware updates, and our new computers did not have a serial interface. This cable solved those issues and the new computers could talk to the older devices and all is well in the world. No installation issues, worked the very first time, could not be happier.

This device works as expected. Plug one end into your USB port on your computer. Drivers installed lickety-split (no CD/DVD needed). Used the other port for a terminal program to connect to a mainframe. All good. As I mentioned, the price was a bit high (I have seen it considerably lower elsewhere), but we needed one same day and that is one big advantage with Best Buy. We were willing to pay a bit more to get it the same day.

It is low cost and a bit short. But it works just fine for me on cisco router and switches... No issues at all

Perfect length of cord. Was a hard yo for and item and was happy when I could go into the store and not have to order it.

I've owned this cable for well over a year and have reconnected it many times. Still works fine as expected.

This would have gotten all excelents if not for the length of the cable. Fortunately I have plenty of USB extension cables as I needed this for configuring a switch located at the top of the rack. All in all it works like advertised, and provides me with a way to configure switches without a serial port on my laptop.

I purchased this dongle to add DB9 Serial functionality to my Asus netbook. I installed the driver (included on a cd) and then plugged in the dongle. It installed with no problems. The unit functions just as expected, with no problems. I use the unit with "Putty" and Hyperterm and haven't found any problems.

Good quality and a very odd price. Handy to have and easy to use.
