Hooked up to an older time clock system when migrated from an old WinXP machine to Win7 with no serial port. Installed fine, device worked perfectly.

Works exactly as i needed it to. Setting up a remote monitor for industrial use off a laptop computer.

What can I say? Its a cable adapter.. it works just as its supposed to..it wasn't expensive... I'm satisfied and would recommend this.

I bought this cable in a pinch in Southern New Mexico. It was easy to set up and use. It's a great product at a great price.

I bought two of these for a KVM application where the KVM equipment only had ports for serial signals and the PCs only had USB ports. They didn't work in my application. I bought some from ATEN and they worked.

Didn't come with a cd or way to get my comp to know its there, didn't look for a working program.. doesn't even know its there no looking for a driver !!! my comps only a year old..

Trying to hook an old monitor up to a new computer. This piece however did not work for what we needed... but its my fault, not theirs!

It was not able to be used. It needed a female end and with three rows of holes, not two.

When I purchased this, it came with a driver disk. I installed it onto my XP Pro computer. It worked great on the first thing that I tried, which was my CarChip (www.carchip.com). It would not work on my Visual Basic 2005 Express Edition DF1 program from SourceForge.Net. After exploring around, I noticed that in Device Manager, the description was "Prolific USB-to-Serial" and this was in the Manual.PDF also. I searched on the web and found a more recent driver. The site was http://www.prolific.com.tw/eng/download.asp and then select "USB to I/O Port Controllers". Now find the "PL-2303 USB to Serial Bridge Controller" (second section from the top) and then select the "PL-2302 Software and Drivers". At the top of the page click on the "wd_pl2303_v20019v2028.zip" and save it to your computer. Unzip or explore into this file to find the "PL-2303 Driver Installer.exe" and run this program. After it installs, you will have to re-boot and now all should work great. Mine sure did.
