Awesome cheap way to create an external hard drive

I bought this to help recover data from an internal hard drive removed from a PC that had a failed mother board. I was able to access the data using the enclosure with no further issues.

What can I say? I needed a 2.5" HD case, and this fits the bill perfectly. It comes with a tiny screwdriver to help you remove the drive from your laptop and install it in this case. Inexpensive and easy to use. It feels pretty solid, and should protect your drive from any normal hits/scrapes/drops.

This was a great option to save my hard drive out of my laptop that recently crashed. It was easy to install the hard drive into the case. It works reliably. And I've had no problems with it since it's purchase.

I needed to read an old hard drive from a laptop to get the items off of it and into a new computer. This worked great and now i can use it as a storage device for other files.

Well if you have a HD that is failing and you want to recover all of the data on it having an external HD case comes in handy. There is nothing spectacular about this unit but its a good unit for the money

Allowed me to keep all of my data from my laptop that died. Easy setup and easy data transfer. Now not only do I have all my data but I also have an external hard drive for additional data storage. Much better than the transfer cords I saw that actually cost more.

Well I got this for less the $15, but I see it's $30 now. Not horrible, but pretty lame. Otherwise I haven't had any problems with it. Drives are pretty snug, but do sometimes have a very small rattle.

Purchased due to failure of the laptop screen. All info on hard drive was accessed using this drive case. Now I have a relatively inexpensive external hard drive.

Works as advertised. Case is sturdy and will protect the drive in case of short falls or other potentially damaging scenarios. Works with USB 3.0 for fast connection.

Love that this reduces the number of USB cords all over my desk. Only bad thing is my laser printer won't work w/ it, have to plug that direct. Time for Wifi printer!

Had a laptop mother board to die, needed to recover the disk data, Put in disk, plugged it into my new laptop and there was my data just like advertised. Transfer was fast and successful. Will probably now use it as a backup or extra offline storage.

This product works great to store my family photos. I have thousands and I did not want them primarily on my laptop due to the space available and I also did not want to loose any of the pictures if something happened to my computer.

I pulled the hard drive from my laptop, stuck it in the enclosure, installed a new OS and put it back in. I had a brand new machine. No problems. This is a great little device for reusing, updating or reconfiguring a laptop hard drive.

Good build quality. But only inside the manual does it say that it is not compatible with new macbooks with USB 3.0. Wish the website had told me that.

Great storage case to either put an old hard drive that was removed from your notebook pc when wanting more storage. You can also purchase a notebook hard drive and install it in this hard drive enclosure and use it for backups.

I had to buy this in conjunction with the Geek Squad fixing my computer. They backed up my recoverable files onto this drive. I continue to use the drive to back up my files just in case of another issue with my hard drive.

it did not work, tried to salvage hard drive but this just did nothing

I was looking for way to retrieve some spread sheets from a "dead" laptop, After removing the hard drive, this let me salvage what I needed. But I was warned not to try running programs because there was no cooling
