I bought this enclosure to rescue my laptop hard drive that failed on me. The enclosure was decently priced and had excellent visual appeal. The only drawback for me was the quality f the screws that hold the "ends" of the enclosure to the body. The metal was a little soft and I could see signs of stripping after only light pressure during tightening. All in all a great product.

This case is excellent. I had a laptop that was falling apart on the outside, but still functioned well. I bought this case, installed the hard drive from my laptop, and now use it with another laptop so I didn't have to buy an entire new computer. It was extremely easy to put the hard drive into the case, and is pretty much plug and play to get to the files. I haven't figured out how to boot up directly into this drive yet though.

I bought this in order to recover an old laptop hard drive. I was able to install and setup the device in less than 5 minutes which is great for novices. The hard drive enclosure worked well enough for me to remove various viruses and trojans and eventually i was able to restore my os on this drive. The enclosure is more suited as a backup device but worked for my purpose.

I like this product because its very small and it's very easy to use.

This product is easy to use to transfer data from an old computer to a new computer. The only downside is that it is time consuming.

This is a problem in search of resolution. My laptop Tablet, which I use constantly is getting on in age. The only problem is with the main internal hard drive. My diagnostics software says it is nearing failure. This little drive enclosure allowed me to remove the drive, mount it in the enclosure, take it over to my desktop and create an image of it on a large storage drive. It worked perfectly. Now if I can find a replacement 2.5" drive for the laptop Tablet which has a "pins" interface, all will be well.

I bought this to recover data from a crashed laptop. Worked perfectly. Virtually no learning curve, and installed quickly.

I was in a jam and needed to take my hard drive out of one computer so that I could get some files into another computer. This was cheap and served the purpose well. Came with a little screwdriver. My only problem with it was that it is a bit flimsy at the attachment to the drive. Not a problem if not planning on moving it around a lot.

Good price ! Easy to set up! Would recommend to anybody that has an old HD sitting around to put back into use !

Good size for a portable. Can easily change the folders/files to back up, and can easily change from automatic system/files backup to manual. Restore seems to be quick, but software must be loaded on target device to restore (as when restoring to a different pc). Have only been using product for a month, but so far so good.

Great item, saved us a lot by recovering my wife's laptop hard drive ourselves. Could not have been easier.

I bought this to house the hard drive from a dead MacBook Air after having been told it was going to cost me $125 to retrieve the data from the laptop. This by far was the easiest most affordable solution and there was no additional cable needed and there is even a screwdriver included.

I was able to salvage the drive from a dead laptop, and recover the data. The USB 3.0 spec means it uses only 1 USB slot, which will allow me to convert the drive into a true external storage device. The case is sleek looking and compact. The blue power and drive access light is nice touch.

The hard drive was easy to install within the enclosure. It even comes with its own screwdriver for assembly. Only had one issue when trying to use 3.0 USB drive... not sure if it was the computer I was using or the drive. Other than that... I bought two of these and haven't hand any other issues.

My daughter had a nasty virus on her laptop. Nothing was working when trying to get rid of it. There were some files on her hard drive she wanted to try to save. This was my only hope, and thankfully, this enclosure was the perfect answer. I was able to get to the files through my laptop and save them to my external hard drive, then format it.

I bought this because I needed something quick to finish a project. It works pretty good. I am not so sure about the unique cord it has to it. If you loose it your pretty much lost. Make sure to keep it all together unless you are using it regularly. Otherwise it is a pretty good product

This product is a real life and tine saver. All of my data was on this old drive and the laptop would not turn on. This enabled me to access all the old data while using it as a stand alone USB drive that I can use just for data access or the operating system that is still on it.

I used this to house my old MacBook Pro HD when it needed to be replaced. It mounted easily, and I was able to use it to copy files on to my new HD. My only (minor) complaint is the smaller plug on the enclosure itself that prevents the user from connecting a standard USB cable.

I bought this to quickly back up data from the secondary drive of a laptop whose primary drive had failed and it did the job well. The USB 3.0 is a major benefit if your PC supports it (i.e. Blue USB ports). The only downside is that it requires using a precision screwdriver to mount or unmount a drive in the case, so it would not be great if you intended to frequently swap drives in the case.
