Product worked as expected, but it is not designed for quick drive changes. I mainly use the enclose when working/ repairing laptop computers to copy existing drives. It also works greats for a network drive when connecting to a wireless router. The plastic housing is a little flimsy but that is how they make it decently price. It is not the cheapest enclosure but it will get the job done.

I like that this case only requires one USB port to work. It seems to work fine. It does get a bit hot though since it is completely enclosed (no vent holes or fan). Also it only has an activity light, a power light would have been nice as would an off/on switch.

I needed to access my data on a laptop that had died. My choices were to bring my laptop into a shop to perform a backup or find something that would let me access the hard drive. This was a cheaper alternative to boot. Once I removed the hard drive from the laptop and reassembled it into thos enclosure, it wasn't too difficult to copy my data using another computer.

Inexpensive way to repurpose a HD. Simple to use. Easy installation.

Go this enclosure to use for my hard drive on my old MacBook Pro. Easy plug and play and does what it's meant to do. No regrets with this purchase. If I had to nitpick something It would be that the closure itself is kind of ugly; but no big deal!

Was so simple to retrieve the hard drive off my old laptop and plug it into the housing and connect to new laptop. Allows me to drag and drop files I want to view. Does not download and clutter your new laptop. Enables user to dispose of old lap top and all the data is in this little pocket sized cover, that is accessible when you need it. AWSOME!!!!

I read some other reviews that criticized this unit for intermittent failures. I can report that using this enclosure with some software for cloning, on the USB 3.0 port (LH side, Notebook computer) can yield errors. I found software that successfully cloned my Win 8.1 to an inexpensive ssd, but I had to use a USB 2.0 port (RH side, Notebook computer). I am told there are voltage differences between the right and left side ports of some Notebooks. I also think that running the clone at the slower 2.0 speed helped make an accurate copy. I used Macrium partition software to change the source drive system partition size, then used EaseUS Todo Backup Free to clone the drive. In summary: I think this enclosure was successful due to sufficient voltage and lower speed on the RH side USB 2.0, and the EaseUS software.

Using this will a 240GB 2.5 SSD drive. Device works well, does not require external power source (thus no ac adapter included)

This is a solid, workable case, and the price wasn't bad in a pinch. The main selling point is that it was immediately available at Best Buy, and I didn't have time to order something at a much better price off of eBay.

Needed to test SATA drive. Excellent setup and access to content on drive.

Great storage low price good to transfer data n all

When I replace or upgrade a laptop hard drive, I usually get an external housing such as this to use the old drive for storage. It also makes transferring files from the old system to the new drive a breeze.

My wife's laptop's motherboard died, but luckily everything on her hard drive was still in tact. It took about 30 seconds to remove the hard drive out of her laptop and another 30 to pop it into this device. So in about a minute, I was able to turn an internal hard drive into an external one. Couldn't be any easier...

Had to purchase this as after I received my laptop back from geek squad, it did not work at all. This was a simple way to access the information on the hard drive.

After my laptop screen decided to give out, I had to have something that saved my hard work saved on the hard drive. I just plugged my hard drive from my broken laptop into this handy device and was able to see everything on my desktop after plugging into a USB slot. It saved me a lot of time and anxiety!!

This is a good little enclosure that I bought for a spare laptop drive I had once the XBOX One turned on the external drive support. It does exactly what I needed it to do. Works great! No complaints!

MacBook Pro hard drive crashed. Had AppleCare so fixing it wasn't the issue. However, hadn't backed up in a while. Apple replaced the hard drive and told me to contact data savers. Too expensive. Figured I would try it as an external hard drive. Computer recognized it and I saved my files. Saved me hundreds!
