When my laptop died I needed a way to get all my information off my old hard drive. I used this to connect the laptop hard drive to my computer and now can use this as a backup drive. It was very simple to use and worked perfectly.

Great external hard drive case in solid black, which you cant go wrong with. Assembled easily and was very easy to understand the instructions.

I could not get access to my old HD and this allowed me to do so. I know keep the old hd inside this devise and it functions as an external hd.

The Dynex - 2.5" Serial ATA Hard Drive Enclosure is a durable enclosure and has a reliable and faster connection to the computer. It's slim design is great for portability and it is light. One time I dropped it to the floor, but it is durable and there was no effect to the Enclosure. Working with the hard drive in the enclosure is just working with the internal hard drive of my laptop computer. Another great thing is I was able to use a hard drive in a broken laptop as my spare hard drive. That hard drive is now the one I used for backups to my new laptop. The Dynex - 2.5" Serial ATA Hard Drive Enclosure provided me with more computer storage space. It doesn't overheat either. You can store pictures and movies of HD qualities and view and watch those perfectly.

Needed to enclose an internal hard drive from a non-working computer and but an encasement on it so it could then be used as an external back-up. Found this encasement to be inexpensive and very easy to put together.

I bought this enclosure so a friend could retain all of the data on an old laptop hard drive and have an external storage device. Installing the hard drive into the enclosure was simple and took around five minutes.

This is a good metal container and easy to install. It could use a little more padding inside, but it works well for the price.

This totally saved over seven years of family pictures among other things lost on a laptop that would turn on but wouldn't display anything. Easy to put together and I now have everything off the old laptop.

This USB 3.0 drive just works. I didn't have to install any software. Windows found it right away. It has a simple, solid enclosure, and it includes a screwdriver to open it and install your 2.5" hard drive.

It was easy to install a hard drive into this sturdy enclosure. Even for a newbie. ;). This is our 2nd purchase. We bought one last year for a different hard drive, so we knew what we wanted.

This product is easy to use, easy to transport. This is the second one I have purchased and I have recommended it to friends and coworkers.

The product was good for the purpose is was bought. The price was right and work just fine. The only convenient is it has to be down as I wished it comes with a small stand to keep it up.

Excellent small form factor Hard Drive enclosure for 2.5 inch drives (laptop size). There is practically no need for instructions, as the assembly process is 3 steps! Totally geekin' on this.

This unit fit the drive perfectly. You simply remove 2 screws (with the provided screwdriver) and insert the drive and reinstall the 2 screws. Attach the provide USB cable and that's it!

The product is exactly what I was looking for. Something inexpensive for a small enclosure, that is easily swappable of the internals, but sturdy enough to transport the enclosures. The cable could be a bit better and the connector seems to be a bit wobbly and loose, leading to a sometimes unstable connection device side, but the easy screw off and replace the internals does everything I was looking for. Would recommend if you need a cheap 3.5" enclosure.
