Very satisfied with this Dynex TV

    Posted .

I was looking for a TV for my bedroom, but really did not want to spend a fortune for a TV that would not be a primary TV. With that being said, I also wanted to make sure that I would enjoy what time I did spend in front of the TV. A friend of mine bought a smaller Dynex model for his son, and it looked great so I started to do some research on them. The biggest complaint I could find was the sound, but I figured it's for my bedroom so not a real issue. Others had issues with the picture settings or fine tuning the TV for their set up. I decided to try out Dynex and ordered two of these, one for a relative and one for me. After getting them all set up, I am very very impressed. One TV is hooked up to DirecTV (HDMI), and mine is hooked up to Charter Cable (HDMI). The picture is outstanding! For $550 you can not go wrong. The picture is bright and clear and is more than I ever expected. Can I tell a difference between my 55" Samsung LCD? Sure, but there is about a $1K difference in price between a 55" Samsung and 55" Dynex. From here on out, I am confident I will be going with Dynex. Now I must say that I have not and will not be trying out this Dynex with a Blu-Ray or an X-Box because I have a nice home theater with surround sound (Insignia 570W 5.1-Ch. Home Theater System) where those devices are used. I do strongly believe that this TV would look great with an X-Box and Blu-Ray hooked up. I will also say that one might want to look elsewhere if they are not going to use Component or HDMI with this TV. I did notice that DirecTV HDMI looked better than my Charter HDMI, not a big difference but I could tell. On to the sound. Not bad, but not great. The speakers do not give off bass, but you turn up the volume and before you know it you are used to it. This is not a high end TV, and so it is expected that something would get left behind. I have no problems with the speakers for my use as a bedroom TV. My suggestion to those who are considering this TV as their household's primary TV is to also purchase an Insignia 570W 5.1-Ch. Home Theater System. Both of these can be purchased for under $1K and you would have yourself a great home theater set up. The remote that comes with the TV is great, very easy to switch between inputs, and the menu is easy to navigate. Most people will use their cable or satellite box's remote. I had to program two different remotes for the TV's and both companies listed Dynex remote codes, and so I was able to program them with no problem. Another review made mention about the ability to adjust colors, etc, I did not try as the picture was good enough for me out of the box. Now to the bad, it only has TWO HDMI inputs. The previous model had three, which for some people may pose a problem. I believe anyone who is an average electronics consumer such as myself will enjoy this TV.

    Top Notch!

It took me exactly 5 days of shopping around I considered RCA’s, Vizio’s , LG’s , Etc.. Finally I looked on the flyer and saw Dynex for sale from Best Buy. I researched it on you tube and all sorts of site’s, my review is pretty much exactly as everyone else. This Tv is fantastic ! Picture is made for HD the tv I had in the living room was a 40” Vizio 240hz 1080p which is now in my bed room. This tv looks twice as better and its only 60hz frame rate which honestly I don’t see a difference ever. I bought all HDMI cables for my Sat, xbox, and ps3. The gaming picture is so intense I cant play games that came easily to me like gears of war, call of duty etc. Because its so crisp I don’t know where to look I keep noticing details that were never there before. :) Sound quality, Ok I won’t be a fanatic and say its fantastic notice the price cause here is where they left out cost. There really isn’t anything special about the sound I’m about 3-4 maybe 5 ft away from my TV and it sounds fine. I really recommend if you went as far as to get this size TV go hard and buy a surround system there pretty cheap it enhances your whole viewing experience. Size and Setup It was literally 1 2 3 this TV comes with so many ports. I Currently have my SAT HDMI set up, Xbox HDMI set up , PS3 HDMI set up, Yup all three!! Size it’s a good living room peace very classy looking just overall made my living room, It’s not as large in the back is it might appear it’s your standard Flat screen size. Overall. This TV is gorgeous in the showroom it was nex to a 55” vizio and a 42 inc LED-LCD tv and they all had the same images and this one held it’s own. I’m truly satisfied my friends who come over cant get over how great it looks. Gaming is amazing on it!! Def great as a Gaming TV. Look Just BUY THIS TV!! AND DON’T FORGET THE HDMI’S you can afford them with the money you save.

Not bad, pretty darn good for the money.

Pros: Decent picture, very dynamic, a lot of TV for $550. Cons: Hard to balance picture quality. No color adjustment controls, you can't adjust hue at all. Forget about 6500K or any real calibration. Brightness / contrast are very touchy. I find these issues more important when watching Blurays and 1080i broadcast movies. But for all sports channels, news, History channel, ect, it looks just fine. This is a second set in my house (106" screen / Epson projector being in theater), and for sports and news, I really can't complain. For the $550 I paid, it's outstanding. Speaker sound is acceptable (but I now use a Pioneer receiver for full on surround). Picture is quite dynamic, good visual "punch". Will impress your less than educated video friends. Then tell them what you paid for it!

    Good Cheap TV....Great for College

    Posted .

So I live in a house of learned college men and we had a 32 inch Samsung in our living room and it just wasnt cutting it. We picked up this bad boy during the MA tax-free holiday for a whopping $382 (on sale/display model/ no remote)! What a steal the TV is grrrrrrrrrrreat. The picture quality is great, as Golf, Football and other sports are shown in stunning clarity. Lets not forget the gaming with xbox360 and HDMI...Its barbaric. It also makes Curb Your Enthusiasm hysterical, dont know how it does it. Downsides- There is only 1 component plug in, which would be a real downside if we didnt have hdmi for the xbox. another down. Also our universal remote wont do any inputs which isnt the TVs fault just dont buy the $8 universal remote. All and All the TV has been a fun time!

    Very good for the price

I was looking to upgrade my 37" 720 to a 46" 1080. I planned to what another month, but then this TV went on sale today and I couldn't pass up the deal . Bought it today and mounted it to my living room wall already. Works and looks really good on day one. If I could afford it, I'd buy a couple more to mount in my family room as soon as possible.

Good TV if you want to keep costs down.

    Posted .

This TV has a decent picture (actually great picture for it's price point) although not as good as my Samsung LED-LCD but, then again it was approx $1500 cheaper. I notice some slight blurring when watching fast motion scenes but that is to be expected with a 60Hz TV. The sound could use a little more bass response but is quite acceptable. The only major deficit in my opinion is the lack of connections. I really would have liked both more HDMI and Component connections as this was placed in the family room (Blu-Ray Player, Dish Network Receiver, Wii, X-Box 360 and PC) and we could not hook up everything at once. I had to settle for having to swap the cables on the back each time they wanted to switch from X-Box 360 and Wii using the component cables as the HDMIs were already taken by the Blu-Ray and the Dish Receiver. Still overall at this price point there is not really much to complain about when you are only spending $499 for a 46" LCD TV.

    Great!

This TV is great! I use this to watch TV and play my PS3. The picture looks amazing on it. I had a sound bar for the TV already, so I use that instead of the TV sound. I did listen to it without the speakers when I first got it and it sounded pretty good. There are some great picture settings on it also, which I use when I watch different things (sports, movies, news).

    Solid purchase on a budget

    Posted .

If your purchasing a HDTV on a budget---for example i wanted to stay under $500 this tv you cant go wrong......just keep in mind you are not getting a top of the line samsung with this dynex purchase.....however the picture quality will definately satisfy you....and for those that have sound concerns and have heard the sound quality is poor; let me tell you that I was pleasantly surprised. Negatives are that it is a little heavy and not as thin as i would have liked--but i cant complain bc if your on a budget thats trivial imo Overall very solid budget purchase thus far

Strong performance when signal is good

    Posted .

On the HD/Digital channels where I have ALL the signal strength bars filled in, which is all but one, the picture is excellent! This model also has particularly excellent sound, even with no sound peripheals attached! The lag time between channels is about 2.5-3.0 seconds, which is a little slower than some of the latest technology devices but still within expected parameters. There are a lot of adjustments of controls to get the picture where you want it, but after obtaining optimum adjustment, a beautiful picture is available on virtually every Digital/HD channel! Overall, a great TV for the money! One additional comment, however, is that I would like to see more standardization of control location and function on the remote control boxes, and what I mean by that is to have button locations and functions the same from brand to brand!

    For the price...Amazing Tv

    Posted .

I have another Dynex besides this one and the quality is what led me to this purchase. For the price you cannot beat the quality of these TVs. The picture is as good if not better than models twice the cost. Sure the audio could be a little better, but again, look at the price. I could not be happier with this purchase.

Shopped hard for several months, best deal I found. 46" for $479, WOW! Sound is tinny, however, easy to hook up to aux speakers and now sounds great. Easy set-up, sharp picture, no problems. Buy it.

    Amazing Buy

    Posted .

I always wondered about buying a new TV. I searched a lot reading everything about HDTV. This Tv is absolutely amazing so far. Picture quality is great, brighter than that I bet soon you will be blinded :) Of course that side by side with other Tvs at the stand you can notice some differences but at my living room I have nothing to complain about it. It could have one more HDMI. Remote control response is fast. Maybe little concerned with power consumption.

46 inch TV for $300, yeah, that's a good deal

    Posted .

I wasn't exactly in the market for a new TV, but when the BB store manager accepted my $299 offer for this floor model without a stand, remote, or box, I was obliged to make the purchase. Again....46" TV for under $300 at Best Buy. The HD picture quality is perfectly acceptable. It looks great for non-action (sitcoms, news, movies, etc), but gets a bit pixelated for fast moving sports - particularly basketball and hockey. But again, for $300, you really can't go wrong.

    Great picture Great price

    Posted .

We've owned this for 1-2 months but so far we are really impressed. It has a really crisp picture, options to change to your preference. The factory pre-set sound was not my favorite, so I customized it with very good results. I haven't really found anything about this TV that I'm not happy with. It's in a lower price range, but the picture we get can compare to much pricier models.
