We were upgrading from a great 42" Panasonic plasma (7 years old) to a 55" LCD. We thought the specs of this TV would ensure a great picture. Unfortunately, Best Buy did NOT have this TV on display. We purchased it based on the reviews here and we will never again make the mistake of buying a TV that you cannot preview. Heavier than some of the other TVs on the market, we got it home, set up it and turned it on. Spent 30 minutes watching a variety of things: HDTV, regular TV, recorded shows, commercials, movies, and basketball. It was obvious in EACH INSTANCE that the electronics in the TV do not keep up and there was blurring and pixelating in every scene -- even regular commercials. We keep TVs a long time and do not intend to watch blurring every day for 5-7 years. Our old plasma had a better picture than this TV. So we then had the arduous task of boxing it all back up and hauling it to Best Buy. They tried to say it was because we did not buy their specific cables, but that is not a valid reason for the blurring we experienced. They processed our refund. We then viewed other affordable options at Best Buy (Insignia), WalMart (Vizio), and Target (Philips). We chose the Philips for the great picture, as well as all the internet capability. Much happier with this TV and all of its extra features.

This is our second Dynex, we love them both, slowing replacing all of our old tvs with Dynex. The picture is awesome fo this TV

TV is Fantastic!!! We are so happy that we decided to spend the extra money on Black Friday and bought this TV! The picture is excellent! We love everything about it!!!

I'm not so much the one who's an electronic guru. If you're just wanting to have a big screen tv to fill up space and casually watch, then this one seems to do the trick. I have noticed the difference between my HDTV channels and the regular ones. But, not being an electronic guru, I can't give much more information.

Great TV for the money. I have had it for a couple months so far and it is working perfectly! Great picture quality!!

Start up is a little slow, but for price I can wait 5 seconds. Picture is great and sound is what I expected.

Great buy whe you look at the size/quality aspect. Easy to install and the picture and sound quality are great. Will reccomand this product to everyone.

We have this TV on our wall in the bedroom. It has an excellent pitcher, even from the side. I,m very happy with it, We use a sound bar for the sound.

the sound equlizer hard to figuer out . Had to go on line to print out a 25 page users manual.some pages a waste of ink and paper. turnig set on have to wait long time to retreive data before program starts. when changing channels screen goes black for sometime befor progrm starts. I find this most annoying. would like to know if there is way to to lower back ground noise( ie traffic noise and,or music which is sometime deafening) so, dialog can be better heard. my non HD channel seems to be a bit more more blurry than my last tv. maybe its the large screen? Also spent 45$ on hdmi cable and can not get closed caption only way to get was to go to RCA cables which means if I want to see some dialog I would have to switch. annoying!

I had bought this 55" Dynex as a replacement for my 27" CRT. Initially, the tv was incredible. The picture was pretty good after some tweaking. The speakers were very good for being 10w speakers. If you have had a hdtv before, you won’t be impressed by this set, but if it is your first, you will like it. I had a problem with the sound while watching HD channels. After flipping through a couple of channels the sound would go out. The tv was having a hard time processing the audio signal coming from my Comcast Motorolla HD DVR box. I tried a number of different HDMI cables and a new HD DVR box but couldn’t resolve the problem. I might have had a lemon of a tv but didn’t want to try out another Dynex to find the same problem. I upgraded to to the 55" Toshiba. The tv produced good hd tv video, but struggled mightily with standard deff tv. The difference between the two was huge! The dynex also takes forever to switch between channels. I saw another review where someone said they were getting hd channels showing up as 480p. I had that problem too, but it was fixed by the second cable guy. That’s a problem from the cable box not being set up correctly. The Toshiba has a much better picture. It shows much more detail, and is smoother. The sounds sucks compared to the Dynex, but with surround, it doesn’t matter. The Toshiba has a gloss screen while the dynex is a matte. I would recommend spending the extra money for the Toshiba.

Had the Geek Squad set it up over fireplace, perfect for our front room. Got the LCD since it was supposed to be better with lots of natural light, excellent picture.

Overall good tv for the entry level price point. The tv has good sound and works well with other components.

Picture is great, easy set up and hook up all the necessary components.

The picture is great and as good as a brand name product. The sound quality is not great but that is typically a problem with LEDs and LCDs my guess. Overall I am very happy with the quality I have got with respect to the price I have paid. I am using it for 4 months, hopefully no major issues will arise for at least 12 months.

This TV is great, and for the price, it is perfect. If you are looking for a TV within this price range, that it good quality, with great aspects, this is the one to get. Don’t compare it to a top of the line brand, because it will not look as good, but if you are not picky, this item is awesome.

I like the TV for the price. I ordered it online on Black Friday. I am impressed with the quality. Sounds ok but I have a 700 Watt Denon for sound. I watched college football on it and had no ghosting that others has said about it. I think that problem is related to the signal coming in. And Blu-Ray Movies look good. So does my XBox 360 and PS3.
