Good tv for the cost...

Poor sound and Picture Quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I previously purchased a 46" 1080P 60 HZ Dynex and still like it. I had to Replace my Sony SXRD because there was a green haze that came over it. I did not want to spend a lot of money on a tv as they are changing a lot now. The Dynex loot great in the store. I got it home and had Horrible Ghosting on all HD channels. The sound would cut out if I changed the channel too many times. I called Dynex, they told me to return it. I got the second one home, this tv is not all that light, hooked it up and the very same problem with even worse ghosting. I guess you get what you pay for. I will be returning this tv ASAP and getting a Plasma from Panasonic or Samsung as I know they work, do not ghost and do not have sound problems. The three trips to Best buy are not worth the price.

Good TV, right price, undependable and bug ridden
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had a Dynex 55 for 5 weeks. First it "blinked out", Had Geek squad (great by the way) come and replaced both boards. Good for few days, then went out and had to turn off then on to make it work. Fed up, went to store to get different brand. Got an Insignia, only one near the price. Dynex had more features and built better but just didn't work.. Most other choices online were not really available and it wasted a lot of time and effort. Store was nice and all, but didn't offer any help with a replacement and offered no discounts or special offer on comparable set for the time and trouble. Jury out on Best Buy AND Dynex. Great price for a 55 if it only worked, would probably not recommend the Dynex or maybe even BB.

Even at that sale price, go with something else!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The TV works, it's big, It's got what you can expect in terms of features for an entry level TV and the sound isn't terrible.... Unlike the other review I knew what connections it had before I bought it and for the price It definantly has all the connections I could want.... HOWEVER... I went from a Dynex 46" 60Hz 1080p (which I recommend highly) to this monster 55" @ 120Hz. Even at 120Hz the image quality is terrible! I'm not expecting great quality but the 55" doesn't even have the same performance as the 46". The image "ghosts" all the time, even on low-def channels and DVD's. Blu-rays and HD channels also "ghost" but it's not as noticeable. ALL connections, XBOX, Blu-Ray, DVD, and cable HD or SD studder and "lag"... it's super noticeable when the show is panning to the side. It'll stop, then catch up, then stop, then catch up. It's like watching internet tv on a slow connection! I would think at 120Hz it would get better performance than the 60hz 46" but it's the exact opposite... Go smaller or get a different brand.

Great value for a BIG LCD
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am always a little worried and buying a off brand, but Dynex is quickly developing an excellent reputation. This is our second big screen LCD from Dynex and we have had no issues to date.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i bought this tv brand new @a local best buy store , after 2 or 3 days i notice some lines on both the right And left side like bars going up & down.i talk to a couple of best buys employees in different stores and they all told me that this particular model 55" dynex lcd 120hz came with issues and it was being return by a lot people and those that notice the issue.i took it back and got the insignia 55" lcd more than 2 months no issue is a bit more money but better quality and value ... I have a 42" lcd 1080p 60 hz Dynex never had an issue with it !!!

Great TV for a great price!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to set up though we did have some issues with having to choose home mode and and cable set up each time we turned it on. This lasted for about 2 weeks and it finally stopped. Other than that it has been fantastic!

Not good for sports or fast action
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TV has a ghosting / trailing problem at 1080i/1080p resolution. During hockey, there was a visible trail behind the puck and often behind the player.Camera pan to close-up would cause a blur until the TV caught up. Sound is poor - sounds like Drive-in Theatre speakers, but not a problem if you pipe through surround sound. Excellent picture if limited to only 720p. Dynex support was responsive, but suggested that I return it - which I did.

Buggy and no support- beware!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV has no support. The best they will offer is misinformation, tell you that all TVs have the same problem, or in the best case offer to return your money. An example of their ineffective support: Here is an unedited paragraph from their support email response: 'Thank you for contacting Dynex Products regarding your DX-55L150A11 Dynex 55" Class / LCD / 1080p / 120Hz / HDTV. All of us here at Dynex strive to provide the best quality products and a great customer care experience, and I am very sorry to hear you have encountered that your Windows 7 computer is not recognizing the Dynex USB 2.0 All-In-One Memory Card Reader.' Uh, whatever. So I called and describe how the input display pops up every commercial break-- seems to be when the TV transitions to black or silent? They guy on the phone says that all TVs do this, including his Sony. Well I've used Sony, LG, Samsung, and probably dozens of others and this buggy Dynex is the first with this "feature" where every 10 minutes the TV pops up a big blue box that says "HDMI 2 1080i HD". It's possible that the Dynex is detecting some sort of event from the cable or commercials but no other TVs have this problem. Wouldn't you fix you car if it shut off every time you drove over a speed bump? Or would you just blow it off with "all cars do that". From the internet there might be a workaround for the above to switch to component instead of HDMI, but I actually use the multiple HDMI on the TV and each HDMI does the same thing. There are other bugs as well. Search the Best Buy / Dynex product Q&A for this TV for the keywords "annoying", "opera", and "wizard". These three bugs haven't been fixed by Best Buy's Dynex brand and FYI the opera bug leaves you with a 60hz TV. That said the 60hz picture looks ok for what I paid. Overall the message is this is the bottom of the line and Best Buy barely even tries.

No optical audio output
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The tv was a good price overall, but I was surprised to see a coaxial audio, and no optical audio.I had to purchase a converter for $20.00 on amazon to use my home theater system for the audio. I've only had it a day but everything works fine except for that and I also noticed the display reads 480 p even with hdmi hook ups.

Do Not Buy If You Want To Game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tv is almost perfect for the price except for the lag. The lag just totally ruins this tv if you want to play any games on it. Especially kinect. If you don't plan on playing any games, then I do recommend this tv as long as you realize it may not last you past 4 years based on what I hear. I mostly made this review to warn people about the input lag which is like a half second or something stupid. I wouldn't have purchased this tv if i knew it was going to be that bad. It is going back for that reason only. No other problems with it really. You get what you pay for I guess.

Works great, no problems.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned this TV for about a month and so far, so good. I have noticed a slight timing issue between the sight and sound on the over air broadcasting, but hasn't bothered me enough to try and fix it.
