I just bought the TV on Black Friday for $599. I primarily use it for online gaming & netflix. The picture is great and the screen is huge for my living room. i shopped around for good deals and was going to buy a 3d tv for around $1300, but i couldnt be happier with this purchase. I recommend it for the cost, size & the picture. the sound isnt anything to brag about, but you can easily just plug some computer speakers with sub into the headphone jack.

    The Best 55 inch LCD 1080P 120hz for $799.00

Man buy this TV. I have done a lot of research and already returned two different tvs. One was the Element from Wal Mart. There were dead pixels when I first got it out of the box. So after that I just returned it and didn't want to try another one cause I was gonna have to wait for it to come in. Then I bought the the Samsung 50 inch plasma at 720p in my living room there is just too much light and I just had way to much glare and I could not seem to get the screen light enough unless it was night time. So I returned that one. So I was definitely a little hesitant to buy another off brand 55inch for 799 but I went for it. Man its true 3rd times a charm for sure. This TV is ridiculous. The refresh is awesome I use it for Blu Ray x Box 360 and Comcast hi def service its great. Best Buy delivered on this one. I have no complaints swivel stand, turns on fast and all the inputs I need. The sound is weak but I use surround and you should to if you are buying this TV. Come on you don't put unleaded gas in a Ferrari! Also it puts my friends TV to shame. Yea you Phil!!! It's amazing what an additional 23 inches will do to your relationship with your TV. LOL Most definitely a BEST BUY

I bought this tv about six months ago and I've had 0 problems with it. There's still no other tv that can touch this one for the price. The picture is beautiful. The only thing remotely bad is the sound. How about, if you have a 55" tv, get surround sound.

Stood in line for 3 hrs. on black Friday waiting for this beast. Worth every minute! The picture is so much better than the 27" JVC CRT i bought from best buy 5 yrs ago after hurricane Rita. I got home and got this thing hooked up just in time for the LSU-Arkansas game, and felt like i was sitting on the sideline! I was a little worried about the sound, from the reviews i read here, but my worries were quickly relieved. It is more than satisfactory for my needs. Great piece of gear for a great price. Bring a truck or large SUV when picking up, because it took up the WHOLE inside of my CR-V.

I also had 42 inch Dynex prior to purchasing this one, and this one puts the 42 inch to shame! I really like Dynex, an off brand but really good quality. The other thing I would mention is that it doesn't have the fiber optic hook up like the 42 inch did, but that probably only matters to me, and a quick reroute partially solved that problem easily. I really am amazed at the picture quality. If you have space for it, get this TV instead of a smaller brand nameTV at the same price point.

Listen, is this the best picture I have ever seen? Certainly not. But is it decent? Definetly yes! I picked this TV up for $600 and I'm happy with it! I knew when I purchased it that it wasn't the best money could buy! If you are looking for a larger TV that is affordable, buy this. Sometimes these reviews are written by people that can't hook up any of the cables themselves, but think they are pro's when they hook them up wrong and blame the TV. I paid $300 more for a 40 inch that has some of the same issues that these people are complaining about and its a quality brand!! If you are on a budget but want a larger TV this is a good deal! period!!

I bought this tv on black Friday because my Samsung 50 inch ultra slim DLP started loosing pixels. I have had it for 2 weeks so far and am pleasantly surprised with the picture and sound quality! I had a problem with my Xbox 360 at first with sound lag. Especially when trying to play rock band. After surfing the Internet and tinkering I found a fix for it by adjusting the system settings on my Xbox 360. Now the sound lag is fixed. I was afraid I was going to have to send the tv back due to complications with the Xbox 360. I'm really glad I was able to find a fix because I really enjoy the picture and sound on this tv for the price!

Works Well for What We Do

Bought this mostly to use as a monitor in our conference room for Webex meetings, PowerPoints, and similar thing. Works very well for that purpose. We also play business oriented DVDs once in a while, and again, it's perfectly adequate. I'm not evaluating it on a videophile level, but the picture is fine for what we do, and people occaisionally comment on how good the picture is. We also have a 42 Dynex that we use at trade shows to play promotional videos, and it does the job quite well.

This TV has Good Picture Quality ...Great for the Price!!! DVDs NETFLIX, HD Channels Very Good .......BUT and a HUGE BUT............ IF YOU WANT TO PLAY VIDEO GAMES>>>>>DO NOT BUY!!!!!!!! Y you Ask??? The LAG TIME is HORRIFFIC!!!!!.......and no options change it For you gamer savy people...its a HORRIBLE 1/2 second LAG For you who dont know what that means....I could use an example 1. You are playing a sports video game...Example Baseball ...(applies to any sports game though).....The ball is pitched...you watch it come in ...you determine if its a pitch you want to swing at...IT IS...You swing....PROBLEM....YOU MISSED ...Y....Because the visual on screen pitch looked like it was at the right spot to hit.....BUT the TVs processer is too slow and in reality the video game console already has the pitch in the catchers glove so because of the TVs cheap slow processor you are swinging at AIR AGAIN DO NOT DO NOT BUY!!!

I was sort of hesitant to buy a TV that wasn't a big name brand, but I was so happy when I got it because it is a great quality for the small price. There is only one other brand I know of that sells a TV this big for around the same price and the quality of it is not as good as this one. So I am happy that I got a great TV for a great price. Downside: I think that it would have better quality in sound with a sound bar or surround sound theater system, but I can't really complain. If you are looking for something to really WOW you and electronics are your thing, you might not be amazed with this product. But overall quality is really good in my opinion. I would buy another one!

    Took It Back

I bought this TV because of the great price. I thought that this was a great deal on a 55" until I got it home. The picture quality was not that great. I guess I should not have checked out the LED's in the store because I was comparing it to them. I suppose for a LCD TV it is OK, but not outstanding. The thing that really turned me off was the sound. I compare it to the sound from my laptop computer. It was horrible. If you decide to get this TV you better plan on another $250+ for a surround sound. It was easy to hook up and operate, but the remote was very bare bones and no frills. I have a very big room to put this TV in, but after getting it home, it was too big. It is just not the same in the store. You look at it in the store and it does not look that big. Moral of the story is first make sure you need one that big. Second moral is go ahead and pay the price to get a TV of better quality. I ended up taking it back and getting a Samsung internet connectable 46" LED that had the Blu Ray package. I only paid $100 more for that and I am so happy I did!

    Great Product For the Money

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

If you are looking for a great Television for the Super Bowl this one is it. I usually do not write reviews for products I buy even if they are extremely good or bad. However this TV has beaten my expectation by a lot. The quality of the image is amazing for a product costing under $650. The sound could be better, but with a good surround sound system this is negated. The only difference between this television and one costing $400-$500 dollars more in my opinion is features and weight. If you are looking for a Television that is just a television this is the one to get you will not be disappointed.

Outstanding TV for the money. The sound lacks some what, but as others have said, it is easy enough to add a sound system. Picture is excellent, response is good and I have not seen any ghosting issues watching sports programs. I highly recommend this unit.

Having read previous reviews we were a little concerned about this model, but we've enjoyed watching this TV even on the SD channels. Of course, I used the MENU button on the remote and adjusted settings, and I'll probably do some more adjusting over the coming days. You don't expect not to have to make adjustments on a TV at this price.

As with any big screen TV you don't want to be too close it will be less clear. From my couch it has been a great TV, the quality is good for the price. The sound is OK for just watching TV but I would get a speaker system for movies. My brother also purchased this TV after I told him about it and he also thinks it was a good deal for the price. We used it for the Super Bowl.

Overall, this television is not too bad. It is a bit bulky, the sound is adequate at best and has only basic features. However, its cheap and big with a great picture. Having a surround sound system makes up for the lack of quality from the speakers. Having an xbox or playstation connected to it makes up for the basic features.

Just ok - but great for price

I bought this TV for my parents and only paid $599 - great deal. The TV looks great, very sleek, has all the inputs we need - multiple HDMI, etc. - Hung on wall just fine. The picture is good, especially in HD. There are 2 problems, however. 1. - When watching live sports (Basketball for example), everything looks good for the most part, but you can definitely see the players on the court moving slower via some camera angles. This happens every time we watched a basketball game (more than 1 channel). So it wasn't a fluke. I'm guessing it's probably not the best for video games either. Also the sound is poor. Even at full blast, it's not very loud. It's probably good enough for most people, but I've never had a turn the volume on a TV all the way to the max, and that frequently happens with this set. I'm happy with it, though, b/c it's for my parents and they don't watch sports or play video games. If it was at my house, I definitely would return it. But if you're ok w/the issues above, it's an ok TV for the price.
