The product solved my problem of converting a VGA to DVI. The converter I first bought was pointy on the end, so that it could not fit in next to the other DVI connector at my video card. Fortunately, this was squared off on the ends, so that it worked just fine.

This adapter helped metransition from PC monitor to my big screen tv. It was easy to use

I almost brought it back to the store because my computer is constantly telling me, "no vga". I replaced the Dell cable with this product and -- while the cable works, the message coming up is very irritating.

This adapter is poorly labeled. It is DVI A unless you get a good look at the device itself, you will never know.

Grrr! Bought this cable because the rep said it was the right cable that I needed....come to find out it was the wrong one...looked very similar to the one I needed...

Not really the products fault just didn't need this type like I thought I did.

I set up dual monitors for my desktop and wanted to also use duals with my Dell laptop plugged into a D-Port replicator. Since the replicator has one DVI and one VGA out (and I already used the two DVIs from my desktop to the Dell monitors), I needed a DVI to VGA cable. I picked this one up at BB and when I couldn't plug it in I noted that it has 4 extra pins by the horizontal connector and that the horizontal connector is larger that the slot on my replicator. A little research later and I found that the replicator has a DVD-D out and the Dynex is a DVI-A standard. Important safety tip - research before making the purchase. A trip back to BB found that the other DVI cables and adapters were also all DVI-As. Staples and Radio Shack also only had DVI-As. Too bad Fry's isn't on the East coast. I ended up using a DVI to VGA adapter that came with my G-Force video card to resolve the problem. I successfully used this cable to connect a Samsung XL2370 monitor to a computer with regular VGA out. To reiterate, it's described as DVI-to-VGA but not explicitly the other way around. Taking into account that one previous reviewer not getting it to work going from VGA-to-DVI, you might want to do some extra research before dropping the cash for it in case somebody's already found out that it won't work for your particular application. The Best Buy salesperson told me it would work; I took the chance; and I can verify it does indeed work going VGA-to-DVI-A in the above-mentioned instance.

I bought this to connect my pc with vga output to my monitor which has dvi input. unfortunately, i thought it would work. in the item description and on the box, it clearly says that this cable will work with a computer with dvi output to a monitor with vga input. it didn't say anything about doing it the other way around. i just assumed it would function, but it didn't. i blame myself for not taking the description more seriously. but i don't see why it wouldn't work...

I very much like this product. I just purchased it today and have already had my laptop hooked to my TV TWICE! I originally purchased one elsewhere, but returned it. This one will NOT be going back to the store for sure. Dynex, once again, has failed to disappoint! I highly recommend this product to anyone who wants to connect their laptop to a TV. It has outstanding quality for a not too bad price.
