    it works up to 1080 but downgrades any monitor with a higher resolution. I have a 1440 monitor that could only go up to 1080 with this cable. I wish it was described that way more prominently since so many people have higher resolution monitors now. Ended up buying cables for cheaper that supported up to 4k elsewhere...just had to wait for shipping
