I thought it might be a uni-directional cable so I tried it both ways and it didn’t work for converting ports in either direction. Will be returning.

I tried it with several different monitors and computers and it was still horrible. I don't know what it is, but a cable of a different brand worked just fine.

The computer only had mini display port and the monitor had at least one HDMI port. It never displayed anything with that cable. I returned the cable.
