    I have an older Lenovo Thinkpad and it was either this adapter or a VGA connection with crappy graphics. This item served its purpose gracefully.

    If you have a Microsoft Surface with a mini display port, this adapter will allow you to use a tv with an hdmi port as a monitor. You still need the hdmi cord.

    Purchased this product vs Apple which costs way more. This worked the same way for less than $10. Now we can stream off our mac to the tv.

    Simple to use and works great. Use it to hook up laptop to tv. Don't use it all the time so not sure on the durability and how long it will last. So far so good
