Please, save yourself the time and hassle of having to go back to the store to return this item and don’t buy it. I have other Dynex products, including an HDTV, and have had luck, but not with this. I bought this to use with an existing KVM switch that was designed for PS/2 connections. Right out of the package it did not work for the keyboard. The mouse did work but the only key that I could enter was the “T” but what displayed was an “8”. I ended up ordering one from the same company that makes my KVM switch (which I bought at Best Buy) and have had no issues with it so I know it’s not my KVM switch.

Have a retro track ball that I can't part with and also a flex keyboard that this adapter allows me to connect to my laptop with ease. I just feel that $30-$35 price is high for basically a glorified extention cord.

Piece of junk that shouldn't be sold. When connecting a keyboard or mouse w/the adapter, WinXP detects a USB device and tells you it's ready to use. You begin typing or moving your mouse and it loses communication - your cursor stops moving, typing stops. Wait a few seconds, and you're good to go again - for about ten seconds, and it stops again. Throw in the fact that this item is $30.00 + tax, and you get a trip back to the store to return. The previous review is right on the money, and I wish I'd seen it before I wasted time buying and testing this product myself. I'm certainly returning mine for a full refund!

I wish I would have read the reviews. Mouse worked but keyboard didn't. Nothing on the label states that it works with KVMs. Had no problems with returning it to store - different city - even which was great because it saved gas money. Product looked durable and was easy to plug in just not the right one for my setup.

Product says it does not need drivers, yet when I try to install it, it will not install because it can't find the drivers. I contacted their support, they asked for the model number, I told them DX-USBPS2, they replied they do not have that model number in their database and I would have to take it back to the store I bought it from. Their support wasn't willing to do anything else. Worthless!!

Spent over 30 dollars for this "device", but when I attach my PS/2 mouse and keyboard to one end, and plug the USB end into my Gateway WinXP laptop, it occassionally works for maybe 10-30 seconds, and then stops - freezes. If I keep plugging it in different USB ports, it may work for a while, but then quits. Since Windows does "find new hardware" with a "human interface device", maybe they should release a specific driver for it - maybe that would let it work.

I did not belive the negative reviews writen about this product before buying today. I thought it was just bad luck. I got the product home and just as they say, it does not work. The keyboard works for 1 second then dies. This is absolutely the worst product and I cant understand why Best Buy keeps selling it if it does not work!!! DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!!!!!!

I bought this to connect a PS/2 Keyboard and Mouse to my work laptop which I'm using a KVM switch to share with my home desktop. Mouse works fine cannot get the keyboard to work at all. Currently having to plug another Keyboard into my laptop to do my work.

Bought this in a hurry, I needed it for my barcode scanners at work. Does not work with the barcode scanners. Works with keyboard, did not test mouse. A barcode scanner works just like a Keyboard, it reads a barcode and translates it from black and white lines into Hexadecimal machine language and sends it straight to the computer which then translates it into ASCII characters(a-z/A-Z/0-9)

The keyboard and mouse attached by this adapter are never recognized after waking up from sleep state in Vista. You have to unplug and plug in the adapter after waking up for them to be recognized. I don't have this problem with a Belkin adapter.

Had a stack of old PS2 plug keyboards and mice. Newer machines often have no PS2 connectors, only USB ports. This was a cost effective solution to utilize my existing stock of keyboards and mice when servicing machines without old style keyboard and mouse plugs.

Was able to use my fullsize keyboard and regular trackball with no problems in both Linux and Windows 7

Didn't work right from the package. I have a Belkin adapter on my other computer and it works great. Now, I have to make another trip to BB tomorrow to return the Dynex.

My company has 3 of these adapters that I know of. The previous 2 work. The new one doesn't. All 3 are constructed differently. The on that doesn't work is all white without gold contacts.

This is a great product. I could connect my ps/2 keyboard & mouse to usb port in laptop. Now I can use them easily. Thanks to BestBuy.

I would come back to Best Buy to shop. Also, recommend family or friends.

As an IT Exec, the bottom line: It is inexpensive and it performs like it should with no hiccups.

This cable allows my older desktop to be hooked up to the iogear cable. Works great.
