This is our second Dyson and we are looking forward to the larger canister size of the animal with our 2 shepherds. The steering does take a little to get used to coming from the original model without the ball. The suction is amazing and overall this is a GREAT vacuum!

This is BY FAR the best vacuum I have ever purchased. We have two large inside dogs and a very furry long haired inside cat. I *thought* our old vacuum was doing its job until I purchased this one. I purchased it solely because of the attachments. The first time I used this - our carpets looked brand new again. I was SHOCKED at what came up out of the carpet considering I had just vacuumed the prior day with our Orek. Needless to say - I junked the Orek! This Dyson is WELL worth the investment!!

I love so much about this new vacuum. The suction is so good and does a great job. This vacuum replaced our old Dyson Animal that was at least 15 years old. I would have preferred getting one just like it but Dyson no longer makes one. It's taken me awhile to get used to the ball design and making sure it is latched in the upright position when being put away or else the upright handle and all just falls back at you or worse to the floor. Also because of the design of the ball I can not get under the edges of the kitchen cabinets like I could with our original Dyson.

Love the Dyson product. Great suction and easy to use, love the simplicity of emptying canister. Like long cord.

The best uptight for a home with dogs. Truly does not lose suction, very easy to move around the house, not as heavy as most upright machines.

I had just used my previous vacuum cleaner (Bissell)and it seemed to do a good job. However, when I got the Dyson home I was eager to use it. I redid the floors and all looked brand new. It was funny thinking I was so excited about buying a new vacuum.

Have been through almost all top of the line back games on the market today including rainbow , Kirby, orek,,simplicity,electrolux, shark and other mainstream disposable vaccuums..this Dyson has good suction/ agitation and filter..lightweight and maneuvers ok except over plush rugs. so far we are happy..will it stand the test of time and will it survive our shorthair shedding pets and my wife that has killed every other vaccuum?? stay tuned for the outcome by this time next year! This is my second Dyson Animal. I received my original Dyson Animal when they first came on the market. Don't remember the year, more than a decade, maybe two. It still works. I didn't think it could get any better, but this new Ball Animal sucks the chrome off a '57 Buick. I'm shocked at the amount of dirt this vacuum is picking up. I must be a pig, and I clean at least once a week. New sleek design means a lighter weight. I'm still getting acclimated to this beast, but am pleased as punch with the purchase.

We have Long hair cats. Still have to remove the brush & clean but really great at picking up all hair. This my 2nd one. I bought one for each floor of the house. I also have each one professionally cleaned about every six months. Always works like new. The only somewhat disappointing feature is the little hand brush attachment. Too small for stairs. And doesn’t really clean the cat hair. Totally recommend this!

I purchased this after my Shark bit the dust (instead of sucking it up). It. Is. AMAZING! So much more power than my old vacuum, and my floors look visibly cleaner. The canister is easy to detach and empty. The cord is long enough for me to use across multiple levels of my home. Works great on our carpets and our hardwood flooring, and cleans up the pet hair from our 3 furry friends better than any vacuum I've ever owned. HIGHLY recommend!

We have several Dysons. We replaced an older model that is much heavier and harder to move, because my wife has a shoulder problem. The unit is more maneuvarable and lighter. It still has at least as good suction and the beater bar can be replaced without replacing the entire lower unit which was the case with the older Dyson. Its ability to change from one floor type to another without the user having to do anything is also a good feature.

I've bought a couple of Dyson imitations thinking I'd save some bucks. Don't waste your money just buy the Dyson. This vacuum has some serious suction power. Attachments are fairly easy to use and the ball is easy to maneuver around the house.

Dyson makes a great vacuum. It does a good job picking up pet hair and emptying the container is a snap. There is no loss of suction as the container fills. The ball design makes passing the vac around tables and corners easy. The only downside was the hose and stick attachment is not as easy to use on furniture. The hose is short. Otherwise I like the power and quality over other brands I owned in the past. The question for some is the high pricetag.

Great vac. Works really well on pet hair. Has great power! The only downside is the latch that holds it upright is a little wobbly.

I was a Bissell user for last 20 years. They'd last about 4-5 years and something would happen to it that would merit full replacement. This time we went to go replace and had a Bissell, a Hoover Wind Tunnel, and the Dyson Animal 2 in our sights. We got them all off the shelf in the store and maneuvered them around. Each have a pivot, each was bagless, each was great for pets and on the 2020 best Vaccums lists I found online. We weren't sure if the Dyson was worth the extra cost. Bissel was light... and we already had our expectation there, it was our go to mr reliable. The Hoover and Dyson were definitely heavier. Reviews online indicated they had WAY better suction. There were alot of note about the hoover being loud, which I'd always heard as well. I should note we have a Dyson stick vacuum that we absolutely love and I can literally say was life changing because of the ease to quick spot vacuum and the suction on it is great. So we went with the Dyson, we have a husky, we'll see how it does. OMG this thing is amazing. It definitely has alot of suction (I see why some said not on new carpet) but it brought our carpet back to life. In my bedroom just the day before we had vacuumed and steam cleaned with old vacuum (before its death R.I.P), we took the new Dyson to the "clean" carpet and it filled half the canister with dust and dirt. I think it sucked the pad back to life because we did a site by side and it is softer to walk on where we ran the vacuum. And ONLY ONE PASS! I havent used accessories yet, but very happy with our investment so far. My only downside is it is a tad on the heavy side, but manageable and I wish it had cord rewind.

Best vacuum ever! Been 3 years and still going strong!

This is a review after using the dyson only 1 time but I’m impressed. I had just vacuumed my floor with a brand new bissel and got over 1/2 a canister full of dirt and hair

This vacuum is significantly better than my old Hoover. It picks up all of the hair shed by dog every week and I'm shocked to see how full the canister gets after just one week when the floors don't even look that bad. It's annoying that the cord isn't retractable, however it is very long so I don't find my self needing to unplug and replug as often as I had to. Moving the vacuum out of the upright position to start cleaning makes a kind of uncomfortable clicking noise which had me worried at first, however I believe this is normal.
