I have had shoulder surgery and though this vacuum took an entire bucket load of dirt out of a freshly cleaned apartment carpeting, I found myself worn out by the pushing and pulling of the heavy vacuum made heavier by the strong suction. I'm trying a canister to see if that will do better for me, but nothing will beat the suction power of the Dyson Animal Ball 2!

Love it but the down side that it is super powerful that its way to hard to use on my area carpet

I purchased this vacuum after our previous Dyson stopped working properly. I looked at other less expensive brands, but kept coming back to the Dyson. It is expensive, but you get what you pay for. If this one lasts 10+ years, the cost is worth it. This vacuum has a stronger suction than the previous models. Picks up our lab's hair with no problems. The attachments are easy to use too. My only gripe is that the carpet rollers auto engage when you turn on the machine. Since we don't have carpet, it's an extra step to remember to turn it off. That's definitely not a deal breaker for me though. This vacuum is a great investment for any one with kids and/or dogs. I am a Dyson user for life!

This is the second Dyson I've owned, my first is now 13 years old and still functioning. This one is so powerful that our new carpeting which is pretty tall is difficult to vacuum...hoping this eases as the carpet relaxes some. Love the slimness of the vacuum and it is lighter weight than the older model.

Vacuum is excellent but has difficulty on carpets with a thicker pile. A few months ago, we replaced our downstairs carpet with one that was softer and thicker. The Dyson Animal Ball 2 was extremely difficult to use on that carpet because the suction was so strong. I could barely push and pull the vacuum across the floor. However, it handled the upstairs carpets with no problem. I thought about returning it but after reading many online reviews, we discovered that if you had that problem - there was a foam seal that needed to be removed to fix that problem. Hubby took care of it and it works fine. We have 2 cats and a small dog that i thought didn't shed much. I am amazed every time I vacuum at how much it pulls out of the carpet!

We Love this vacuum! It's worth the price. It's engineering alone, makes this a wonder. However, the cleaning that this vacuum accomplishes does is on the mark. It is an expensive purchase but your cleanliness is more important. This vacuum does it all! Carpets, no problem. Wood floors, no worries. Rugs, keep your foot on it bc the suction is strong. Basically this vacuum will roll over anything you throw at it. It's easy to clean to. Overall 10/10 for us.

Everything Dyson makes is so well designed and easy to use. Also has the best suction and longevity of any other vacuum brand. This vacuum is corded and bulky but will get the carpet clean like no other. If you do not have a stick vac then this might not be an issue to you. I’m a V10 & V11 owner so it's hard to go back to traditional vacs. This one just fitted the need for the time being. It is one of the best traditional corded vacs. Only con is the extension rod for cleaning. It’s a little to short to maneuver well. Maybe I’m a fan boy but Dyson is like the Apple of Home cleanliness.

I am a fan of Dyson, so it is not my intention to have a biased review. However, my original small ball Dyson I thought was great and lasted over 5 years. This Animal version is probably 2 times as strong, I can actually feel it pull as it cleans the carpet. It is a pricier machine, but I think it is worth it, if it lasts another 5 years or more..

Worked best with pet danders. Easy to use. Durable.

Excellent vacuum. It is really standing the test of 2 very fluffy puppies. The extra long cord is the best feature.

I have been using this for a month now and love the vacuum. One negative is there seems no place to store the tangle-free turbine tool. I don't like having to place it somewhere and bringing it with me when I have to use it. My old Hoover had a place to store it up front of handle. Seems to me for the price they could have found a place. Second is the fact that taking apart the the assembly to remove the dirt and gain access to filter seems cheapened by the plastic and worry of possibly breaking it. But so far it is holding up. Other than that it works fine and don't have issues like some do with too much suction.

Great suction, nice design . Only downside is the price.

Easy to put together and even easier to use. The suction power works exactly as advertised and cleans our carpet better than our previous vacuum with hepa filter.

Excellent Vacuum, quiet but powerful suction. Easy to use and move around rooms with furniture. Attachments are handy and easy to install.

I brought this vacuum on sale to see what all the hype is about. I wanted to see if a five hundred dollar vacuum is really that much greater than something like a shark vacuum priced at around $100. I was surprised to find out that this vacuum is really that good. Even though I still think paying anything over $200 for a vacuum is outrageous. This vacuum proves that sometimes you really do get what you pay for. Simply put this is probably the best vacuum brand out there.

Everything about this is something good! It's easy out of the box assembly and use is worth everything you'd pay for it. The way you empty what you've vacuumed up without ever getting close to touching is is the best feature of all time. Pet hair and dust you didn't see or know was there comes up with little or no effort, just push and it's picked up. It is loud but it's the best vacuum I've owned. I've recommended this to everyone that I know and would buy it again.

This vacuum is great for picking up all sorts of small stuff. I have 3 cats and this vacuum gets all the hair up, plus picks up all small dust, and other stuff that the cats might get on their coats. I love the ball and it gets under everything really well. My only complaints are that the attachment "hose" is not the most user friendly. I usually have it rest over my shoulder to keep it from kinking.

Now I know why people talk so highly of Dyson vacuums. They are truly fabulous. I vacuumed every other day and thought my vacuum was good. But then I used the Dyson. It wins hands down. The first time I used it was like I never vacuumed my carpet before. It’s AWESOME!!!
