Get so much dirt and hair up. Used it after my previous handheld vacuum and was shocked by how much it picked up. Easy one pass on the rug to get all the dog hair off. Worth the price.

I managed to snag this half-off during a random sale. And I am SO glad I did! I’ve always used cheap vacuums and this difference between those and this one is night and day. My carpets look great, the stair tool has been a life saver, and it is so easy to empty/clean!! Plus it’s got a fantastic warranty! I’m officially a Dyson fan!

Heavier than my Oreck, but works so much better. Great against the baseboards and extra long cord is really convenient.

I have not been this excited about a vacuum ever. I have very thick plush caret and this is one vacuum that lifts it up and cleans it. Gets along the edges and corners. I have overhead fans I used the extension to clean, filled up a bucket with dust and dirt on five fans.Easy to use and assemble, I hope the long haul is the same with this machine. Eureka, Hoover should take notice of this machine, well worth the $$ so far.

I bought this for my wife last year. It was a gift and she loves it. She says, she's never had such a powerful, nice vacuum. It is easy to use and easy to empty out when done. We like the long hose for doing cob webs near our ceiling with no problems. We have 2 dogs and this thing really works well. We have had no problems with it clogging. We use it on our carpet and our tile floors. Works great on all the floors. I got this at an excellent sale price, but I would pay full price for this product, it is that good. There just is no comparing this to any of our other vacuum's and we have had many over the last 50 years.

Vacuum was easy to put together out of the box. Has very strong suction and has been doing a great job vacuuming our carpets and tile. It's a bit heavier then our previous vacuums, but it maneuvers extremely easily. I do wish all the tools were able to attach to the vacuum itself. I purchased the vacuum on sale and would do it again, but not at full price.

Took me a few minutes to figure out how to assemble to the pieces included, but once I got the hang of it things were pretty easy. Powerful suction, I've seen some other reviews commenting on difficulty with standing it up after using, and you do want to make sure it locks before walking away. It seems like the trick is to make sure it's lined up straight so that when it clicks it's actually in position to stand.

Although it is pricey, I absolutely love the Dyson brand. It was time to upgrade this year as I've wanted to try the Animal and I am definitely not disappointed. This vacuum has a very strong suction and is perfect for our carpeted areas. It also has a few attachments including the one for the stairs which makes vacuuming easier. I highly recommend this for your home.

Wow is my first thought. We just bought a new house and have to wait to get new carpet so we bought this guy and man O man, talk about power! It actually fluffed the carpet. Never had a Dyson and wasn't with the hype, oh was I wrong. Also have 2 dogs an this Beast makes it look so good you wouldn't know we had any. A bit much on the $$$ but well worth it....

It's a Dyson but it's not the Dyson quality

I've had and loved a Dyson DC17 Absolute Animal for 10 years, it was nothing but amazing. Sadly, All that pet hair and dust finally did it in. So I replaced it with the Ball Animal, avoiding the bigger ball version that has received lots of bad reviews. First impressions. This is a cheap low quality built vacuum. Nothing like the solid DC17 from 10 years ago. Everything is flimsy and feels like its going to break off. When assembling it, a random red clip flew off and vanished and took me 15 minutes to find it. This clip appearantly holds the main roller assembly on. A tiny $.50 piece stands between you and a paperweight. The handle for the cannister is wobbly and flimsy as well as the main stick portion that goes does into the tube itself. The former being cheap and plasticy, the DC17 was metal and solid in this department. Vacuuming... As a standard vacuum, it works, but leaves trails behind it and you have to pass it over the same spot more then once overlapping to get full coverage. The suction is not nearly what the DC17 had, even after 10 years of dust clogging it. When you want to use the handle and stretch out to get areas, you will be disappointed. Besides being plastic feeling and flimsy, the suction is even lower here in comparison to the DC17's hose. Standing... Want it to stand up? Be prepared to force it forward until it stands. The rear wheels may drop but the handle and body will flop right backwards if you do not force it hard to stick. I've used it twice now and have fought to get it to stand every time I went between floor and hose use. It's a little quieter then the DC17. Probably because the motor is weaker and that leads to less suction. And dont believe the "Doesn't lose suction" nonsense, my DC17 and this one both easily loose suction. All you have to do is get something small stuck in the hose, or fill the bin just a tad too much. If your house is small and you have pets, you'll probably have to empty the bin for each room. I had to do so twice in my tiny house. I can't imagine doing a larger house with this. The DC17 from 10 years ago, I'd give that a 5 star rating and recommend it without question. The volume of dirt and pet hair it picked up was amazing. This model I cannot say the same. I give it 3 stars, mostly for how cheap and flimsy it is, and because its not nearly the powerful machine their older models were. There's a reason a DC17 Animal original still sells for $400. Because its a better option then this one. The Ball. I did not get the Cinetic ball, those had horrid reviews and the extra $100 seemed excessive for "dual cyclone technology" and a larger ball. The build quality on the Cinetic is also just as cheap and plasticy based on playing with it in the store. I found for the most part the unit was easy to maneuver around and it did its job. However it doesn't get as close to edges as the old one, and sometimes moving it around things is more difficult because you are having to deal with both the ball and the swiveling head. The Hose... Short and cheap. So cheap that mine has already after one evening started to pull apart and get saggy. It took the other unit years to do this. The hose is also short and stiff and needs to be worked and stretched unless you like pulling a vacuum behind you that then falls over. I won't know until I've used it a bit longer, but I am not impressed with this new model. And I wish I had just found another 10 year old model DC17 instead based on my initial use. The Head... It looks good, looks low profile, but there's a big box in the middle so pushing it forward and under anything, you hit the taller box part. You can angle it and slide it under edges of sofas or other furniture, but its awkward. I think if the build quality was better, this would be a pretty decent machine. But it's no DC17 Animal. Love Dyson products or own one and want to replace it? Look at them in a store carefully before purchasing. And make sure you can return it if it is not up to your standards. Usable but this is NOT your high quality Dyson from the golden Dyson age. It's more like a Hoover or Eureka vacuum but 3x as much. Pros: It's a Dyson It works more or less It relieves your bank account of some of that excess weight called money It does vacuum for the most part. Comes with quite a few accessory heads. Cons: Cheap and flimsy Handle hose assembly is cheap and requires extra work to use and even more to put away Doesn't stand up without force. Using hose and handle is awkward and clumsy. Expensive for a cheap flimsy vacuum Accessory heads fall off easily. If you get something sucked into it that cant make the turn at the base of the hose, you have to take it apart to remove it. Question this purchase, do your research. This is coming from a 10 year owner of another Dyson product. Don't assume because its Dyson its good.

Bought the vacuum from best buy when it was featured on the deal of the day. This is my first dyson i owned. It is the Cadillac of vacuums and sucks up everyrhing. I would compare the suction to a shop vac. Gets in corners and hard to reach places great. Best vac i owned. Very easy to clean. Comes with great attachments to get dirt from every location. A little heavy to pick up for old people.

Best vacuum I’ve ever owned or used. I have carpet that’s 15+ years old that’s taken a beating over time. It’s a rental so I don’t want to buy anything new. Instead I bought a better vacuum cleaner. The Dyson Animal ball is amazing! The suction is crazy good. My carpet looks so much better now. Best $250 I’ve ever spent!

This vacuum is quite a bit heavier than other vacuums I have, but it does a good job picking up everything. The attachments take some getting used to but once you figure out what works for where, they are quite good at their intended use. Overall, I am happy with this vacuum. I think my next purchase will be their stick vacuum because this model is just too large to get out for small jobs. Suction is excellent on this vacuum.

This is our second purchase of a Dyson vacuum. We were so happy with the first, about 5 years ago, that choosing another Dyson was an easy decision. This vacuum is incredible. Head and shoulders above the last one we had. The suction power is amazing and the proof is in the amount of dirt and pet hair that ends up in the waste cup ... even then the carpets look clean before starting. Excellent product.

I love this vacuum I was hesitant bc of price but it is so worth it! The vacuum has great suction and very easy to push around. I love how long the hose is for doing ceilings. You can tell a huge difference between the Dyson and cheaper brands. It was very easy to piece together. So far we have not had any issues.
