This machine has excellent suction. The only minor problems I have found are that the dirt cup is a little too small and that there is no clip to attach the cord to the top of the machine to keep it out of the way when using. Otherwise, it's a sweet little item.

This is a great vacuum. You can empty the canister of dirt directly into the garbage can. This vacuum is a lot better than Hover wind tunnel multi floor. The Hoover would treat our carpet is if it was hardwood floor. The Dyson does not do that. This Dyson is also better than Shark. vacuum. Shark you have empty the dirt canister into a plastic bag like a grocery sack. The Dyson you empty the dirt canister directly into the garbage can.

The suction is too great. Can't push it across the floor. Also, the canister is too small. When it gets full, sometimes the material gets stuck and you have to put your hand in it to pull the dirt out. Very poor product.

Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. I'm sorry to hear that you have found the Dyson Ball Multi Floor 2 upright vacuum cleaner hard to push. The Dyson Ball Multi Floor 2 features Dyson ball technology, which allows for easy navigation with the turn of a wrist. The cleaner head on this machine is self-adjusting, meaning that it raises and lowers to seal in suction across all floors. Ultimately, the machine being hard to push will likely be the result of suction forming an air tight seal between the cleaner head and the floor. The bin of your vacuum will have a MAX fill line to indicate when it is full and time to empty. We generally will recommend emptying your bin by at least the top MAX line that the bin has. Also, the clear portion of your bin does remove for optional maintenance if desired.

While we don't expect issues to occur, Dyson does back your new machine from an authorized retailer with a free 5-year guarantee. We would value the opportunity to assist you, to help ensure your Dyson is working properly. Please feel free to contact us directly at askdysonUS@dyson.com. We are keen on providing you with support and learning more about your experience.

      Best wishes,
      Kelly

This was a replacement for a Dyson I purchased 9 years ago. Great suction (be careful on area rugs...so much suction the rug sticks to the vacuum). Makes the carpets look brand new. The dirt canister is easy to dump and re-install on the Dyson. Looking forward to at least the next 9 years of service.

This vacuum was my final choice after having purchased and returned the Dyson Ball Animal 2 and the Dyson Small Ball Multi-floor. The Ball Animal 2 was powerful but too big, bulky, heavy, and not easy to maneuver. The Small Ball Multi-floor was lightweight and easy to maneuver but the canister was too small and it wasn't powerful enough. The Ball Multi-Floor 2 however, was just right; lightweight, easy to maneuver, powerful, and the canister size was perfect. Pricy but worth it!

After my whimpy DC40 I was hesitant to buy another Dyson. Surely my old Dyson was easy to take apart, to clean and replace filters but it was poor on suction. The Multifloor 2 is in another league. It makes small work of carpet and hard wood floor dust. In fact the suction is so strong that the dust canister is hard to empty as the dirt gets tightly packed in it. Better to empty it when it is two thirds full. The unit is easily manuvrable to male tight turns and reach under furniture spots. It is also effectiveon corners. It is a great helper.

    More than I expected

I live in an old Brooklyn apartment with hard wood floors. . I could sweep and swiffer 20 times a day and still see tons of dirt on my socks. So I decided to look for a vacuum that would do the work I couldn't with a broom. I have always wanted a DYSON but thought they were too pricey. But after months of research, I thought it would be worth the investment. So I purchased this one. It did not disappoint. I couldn't believe It. Because I swept the floor first. Then vacuumed to see if anything would be left for the vacuum to pick up. I was SHOCKED at how much dirt and dust was in the canister. The only "CON" I have is that it is really noisy and the floor feels like its vibrating. But that's probably just because of the powerful motor. Other than that, it is powerful and does everything it says. I even noticed I am not sneezing as much. So it must really be getting the dust caught in the floor boards that the broom is pushing into that spot. Just buy it. .

Vacuum cleaners are a bane in this household. In the 20 years we have gone through 30 vacuums. Not a joke! They simply break down. We have tried Hoover, LG, Eureka, Bissell, etc. Price and quality are not the issues. We stayed away from Dyson because we felt it was more hype than function. Friends told us to try Dyson but we still stayed clear. Who wants to spend $500 on a vacuum because with our luck it will break. We were off base! After trying the Multi Floor 2, my wife and I are impressed. This machine is a work of art, lightweight, quiet, and works great! It really sucks up dirt. The rolling ball makes cleaning effortless and easier to maneuver. People told us that the Dyson is worth every penny and I believe they were right! Love the Dyson MF 2!! The cannister does not hold much but it's easy empty. I excitedly put the Dyson together and used it...felt like the carpet had not been vacuumed in weeks. What a difference!

I've tried them all and this is by far the best vacuum I've owned. I started using Dyson starting with their cordless model, but the battery life was mainly for short uses. This is my first corded model. It's well known that Dyson is the standard for vacuums. This model is smaller than the previous MultiFloor vacuum and packs greater suction I believe. Let's get into the real reason why you are reading this review. -= Design and Easy of Use =- 4/5 This vac by Dyson is lightweight and super easy maneuver due to it's ball design. The cleaning head automatically adjusts to the surface it's cleaning... this is COOL! The assembly of the machine (you must assemble the handle & vac head areas) is simple and easy, I didn't need to even look at the diagrams to put it together. It's easy to put together, if I remember correctly it was like 3-4 clicks that's it. My only gripe is the upright "legs" are annoying. Not a fan of the feet that keep it in the upright position. It doesn't really do a good job of supporting its weight. Light pressure to the handle causes it to fall into "vacuum" mode and if you aren't paying attention the handle hits the floor. This vac is super well made and feels very heavy duty, it's definitely a good quality piece of equipment with fewer moving parts to worry about. -= Performance =- 5/5 It's very powerful. I thoroughly enjoy watching dirt fill up the canister left behind from my previous vacuum. The side areas of the vac head works very well, in fact, the best of any vac I've ever used. This vac lifts the nap of our short shag carpet very well as well as low pile, wood and tile floors. This also isn't a super noisy machine. The canister is very easy to pop off and on as well as empty for cleaning. The wand is easy to use, it took awhile to get the hang of disengaging it from the machine without fuss but once I understood how to do it correctly I can now do it without being too clumsy. You are also provided with some basic tools for the wand that make it easy to clean cobwebs, corner, and ceiling areas (with the wand) as well as upholstery and furnishings (without the wand, simply attach your desired tool directly to the hose). I foresee our home remaining cleaner after vacuuming with this Dyson. This machine requires less maintenance than other vacs we own, there are no bags to worry about, and the included filters can be washed (recommended to do this task once a month with regular usage) before they need to be replaced due to wear. -= What I love about this vacuum =- * Super easy to maneuver around corners and difficult to clean areas, this vac swivels much better than any I've ever owned. The cord is extra long to reach more areas of your house. @@@@@ The suction on this machine is truly amazing! I would say it's the best I've experienced to far. The dirt goes directly into the canister from the head, so you won't find yourself losing suction unless there's a clog somewhere. The dirt isn't forced to wind around all sorts of receptacles (more common in American made uprights) where suction is lost. @@@@@ Dyson offers a great 5 year limited warranty as long as the machine is treated with care. @@@@@ This machine is super easy to maintain. AskDyson has videos on YouTube that covers maintenance and general care of this vac and answers basic questions. @@@@@ I feel this vac is a great investment for the price point. I sincerely doubt you'll find a better model from another company for the price. The main points are superb suction, ease of use, and low maintenance costs (no bags or filters to replace each month). If you want more tools, you'll have to spend more (upgrade to the Animal version or shell out cash for each tool). -= What I don't like =- * I cannot lay this vac down to use under the bed or our coffee tables, etc. It's simply too bulky with the ball shape to do this, so furniture must be moved around instead, or the wand must be used, which doesn't get quite as clean as using the vac itself. @@@@@ The included accessories are adequate, but I would prefer to also have a few more to round out the efficiency of this vac. Additional tools (like the turbine tool for upholstery) are expensive and need to be considered with the price if needed. For example: a flexible crevice tool runs in the $30+ dollar range, mattress tool is $20+, turbine tool $30+ and so on. It really depends upon what your needs are. I like the turbine tool for cleaning our, upholstery, and stairs, so will consider purchasing that first. -= Verdict =- Must buy if you are in search of a new vacuum. Dyson users will probably benefit from waiting until their vacuum breaks because it still works great. Need a vacuum, buy this. Have a Dyson already... wait unless you want one on each floor like me : @@@@@@@
