This thing is tons of power just waiting to encounter your everyday dirt and dust We purchased on sale but even at regular price it is worth every dime. The extension wand could be a bit more flexible

Hello Mindy, this is Kelly with Dyson. It is very unusual to hear that your machine is clogging regularly in your everyday use. That being said, frequent obstructions in your machine may occur as a result of poor airflow, which can happen due to an existing obstruction or dirty filters. I am happy to let you know that most blockages are simple to remove and we find that most problems may be resolved through simple, yet effective troubleshooting at home.

The issue with your vacuum having no suction after clearing the bin sounds very unusual. I understand that you have initiated the return for your unit, however we would value the opportunity to learn more about your experience. Please feel free to reach out to askdysonUS@dyson.com. We look forward to your correspondence.

      Best wishes,
      Kelly

Took care of the dirt and dust I didn't even know I had in/on my floors. Easy to use, slightly heavier than expected but gets the job done!

I was hesitant at first to drop this much money on a vacuum but it was worth it. The bare floor seeyijg works amazingly, it doesn't shoot dirt or dust out it sucks it all up. This also works fantastic on carpets.

Even though you pay a bit more for a Dyson vacuum, I think they are worth every penny. I am amazed every time I use this machine at how much dirt and dust it sucks up out of the carpet. I highly recommend this product!

We have two miniature long-haired Dachshunds, and our house seems to be perpetually dusty. We own two other Dyson vacuums, and one was getting a little long in the tooth so this is taking the place of our retiree. I definitely recommend this vacuum. Dyson products are awesome, and if you can swing it do pick one up. You won't regret it!

Well I am a huge Dyson fan but this one missed the mark for me. I have a DC07 and it was time to upgrade due to all new carpet in the home. Don't get me wrong this unit works great as a vacuum but when you try and use the attachments it becomes more difficult. For example when trying to dust with the wand the unit continuously tips over if you wander more then a few inches from the main upright. A big deal for me so I returned the unit and went with a Shark. If you just want a really nice floor vacuum and don't need to use attachments this is for you if not there are others out there that work just as well.

Hi there, this is Krystal with Dyson. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on the Dyson Ball Mutli Floor 2. I am pleased to hear you are satisfied with how well it performs. However, I am sorry to hear about the difficulty with the hose. It is common for the hose to be stiff for the first few uses. It will loosen over time.

We understand that you may have already returned the vacuum. We would still value the opportunity to learn more about your experience. Please contact us at askdysonUS@dyson.com with your contact information and we will be happy to help.

After my whimpy DC40 I was hesitant to buy another Dyson. Surely my old Dyson was easy to take apart, to clean and replace filters but it was poor on suction. The Multifloor 2 is in another league. It makes small work of carpet and hard wood floor dust. In fact the suction is so strong that the dust canister is hard to empty as the dirt gets tightly packed in it. Better to empty it when it is two thirds full. The unit is easily manuvrable to male tight turns and reach under furniture spots. It is also effectiveon corners. It is a great helper.

Dyson - Ball Multifloor 2 Bagless Upright Vacuum - Yellow/iron - Does it job what it was made to do. Putting the pieces together, once you take it out of the box, is pretty simple. The instruction manual provided pics, which made it easy. Also the instruction manual provides how to properly remove the two filters and clean them properly. I live in a pet-free household. However, as for the components/parts, that is another story. It would work more efficiently if it had a larger or longer size dust capacity collection bin, the bin capacity is small and the dust collection builds up fast, if you have not vacuum your carpets, specifically shag carpets for a long time. Also, the dust capacity collection bin & other important parts are made out of plastic, if you are not careful of handling the item(s), it may possibly crack or break easily, if you put too much pressure of releasing it, from the machine. It is best to clean the vacuum the first time after you first try it out. Then clean it again, every other third time thereafter, but it all depends how much dust is collected, after each use. You must pay close attention to the MAX line marked on the dust capacity collection bin, so you don't overflow it. Because, if you don't it takes a longer time to properly clean the bin and other sections of the vacuum due to the dust build-up. It clearly states do NOT use liquids to clean the vacuum or it will be damaged. Using a damp cloth to clean around the important plastic parts and sections, helps out. Other than that, the vacuum does it job it was made to do.

This is our 2nd Dyson. Our Upright Animal motor blew. The investment to replace the motor vs putting that $ towards a new vacuum was a no-brainer. Besides, it was about 8 years old and newer, stronger motors have come out since then. We loved that vacuum. It was always super gratifying to see the canister fill with dirt, fur and debris every time I vacuumed. The last time I used it was 2 days prior to getting our new Dyson. When I turned it on, first off I was amazed at how much it felt like it was super suctioning to the floor! Then I was amazed and somewhat grossed out by the mass amount of just plain dirt/dust it sucked out of my living room carpet. The carpet I had happily vacuumed less than 2 days prior. The canister had almost 2" of dirt! Woot! With the allergies in my home, (yep ~ cat allergies and we own 3 cats...) I am really excited to see if the awesome suction power of the new Dyson helps alleviate some of those issues. I do know that I will definitely have cleaner carpets. Very happy and have zero regrets!

    More than I expected

I live in an old Brooklyn apartment with hard wood floors. . I could sweep and swiffer 20 times a day and still see tons of dirt on my socks. So I decided to look for a vacuum that would do the work I couldn't with a broom. I have always wanted a DYSON but thought they were too pricey. But after months of research, I thought it would be worth the investment. So I purchased this one. It did not disappoint. I couldn't believe It. Because I swept the floor first. Then vacuumed to see if anything would be left for the vacuum to pick up. I was SHOCKED at how much dirt and dust was in the canister. The only "CON" I have is that it is really noisy and the floor feels like its vibrating. But that's probably just because of the powerful motor. Other than that, it is powerful and does everything it says. I even noticed I am not sneezing as much. So it must really be getting the dust caught in the floor boards that the broom is pushing into that spot. Just buy it. .

I've had the Dyson Ball Multifloor 2 for a couple of weeks now and have used it sufficiently to give my real-world impressions. First off, although Dyson advertises this machine as being "light to maneuver" don't expect a lightweight machine. It weighs in at nearly 16 pounds and you will definitely feel that heft when hauling it up and down stairs. Second, this thing is *LOUD*! If you think you can do some cleaning without disturbing a sleeping baby or significant other, think again. Won't happen. Third, the "instant release" wand comes out like a breeze but it needs a bit of finessing to get properly back into place, but after a few uses it becomes second nature. Those are about the only nitpicking things I can say are wrong with this vacuum. The pros definitely outweigh them all with ease. I've owned many floor cleaning machines over the years and the suction and cleaning power of the Dyson is second to none. To test it out, I used my previous machine (another high-end brand) and went over a rug in our den. I then immediately went over the same rug with the Multifloor 2 and was amazed at how much dust, hair, lint and fibers were pulled up. I was convinced and my old machine went directly to the curb and I'ven't looked back. The ball makes this machine turn on a dime and the relatively low height of the powerhead allows it to go under most pieces of furniture. It takes some getting use to the turning abilities of this machine but after a few minutes of use it almost feels like an extension of your body. The floating suction plate does a really good job of maintaining cleaning power when changing from one floor type to the other (like from tile to kitchen rug, etc.). Emptying the dust bin involves nothing more than pressing a button, and the whole dust bin assembly can be broken down for ease of cleaning. Another great benefit of this machine is the massively long cord. Unlike other machines I've owned, I can cover 99% of my 2500 square foot two-story home from just 2 outlets, one upstairs and one down, while I previously had to stop mid-cleaning on each floor to move the cord to another plug. It doesn't sound like a big deal, but it's just one more thing to not have to think about. Having a 5-year parts and labor warranty with lifetime support is another great benefit of buying a Dyson. If you're on the fence, don't hesitate any longer. The old adage of "you get what you pay for" is definitely true, and the Dyson Ball Multifloor 2 is well-worth it's substantial weight.

This is the first Dyson product I've ever owned. After a few weeks of use, I'm impressed. From out of the box to up and running must have been less than ten minutes. After double checking everything, I fired up the vacuum cleaner. Was a bit louder than I expected, but I suppose loud is good when you are talking about suction power. As I walked around the house, I could see a bunch of lint and other random dust starting to enter the chamber. I like that you can actually see if your vacuuming is doing anything useful. Going forward I found that being able to see in the canister is a huge benefit in knowing when to empty your vacuum. With my old vacuum, I would just keep vacuuming away and never really know when I was getting near that full threshold. It took me a couple cleaning cycles to get used to driving the vacuum. If you've never driven a Dyson ball it can feel a little bit disjointed at first. Eventually you will become an expert in controlling the device. It really can turn on a dime. My home is mostly hardwood floors with a couple of area rugs thrown around. Was pretty cool to see the vacuum automatically adjust to the different surfaces. I guess you could call the Dyson a "smart-vac" My home is three levels and the stairs are hardwood as well. Pulling out the wand was super easy. Much easier than other vacuums I've previously used. Putting it back in was something I didn't master on the first cleaning but after a couple days I was an expert. The wand had excellent reach. Great to get those cobwebs on ceiling corners. I used the brush?attachment on our couch and was able to easily pull out lots of crumbs the kids had created eating on the couch. I was able to clean my largest room without having to disconnect the power cord. Having such a long power cord is something every vacuum should have but most don't. Being able to see the amount of dirt you collect will also have you emptying your canister more often. This probably lends itself to better cleaning. I loved how there were no bags involved. It was great that many of the filters and parts can just be rinsed clean with water. Dyson recommended doing this a monthly basis. Not sure how vigilant I will be over the long haul. A 5-year parts and labor warranty with lifetime support is another great benefit of buying a Dyson. I see Dyson out on social media trying to answer everyone's questions. Nice to see a company making sure their customers are happy. Would find the model best for your home as each serves different purposes. Worth giving a try.

The Dyson ball, multi floor 2 Included- Vacuum, wand, manual, a couple different attachments. Dyson offers free shipping to and from a Dyson Service Center for repairs. Assembly- There's a diagram to assemble the few different parts. It was fairly easy to snap together. The only issue was trying to get the wand inserted into the tube and have it line up and completely fit. Eventually it did go. It takes a little effort to put back after each use. Operation- The cord is about 30 feet long, which I love so I'm not constantly stopping to move the plug. The Dyson is pretty light weight, about 15 pounds so it's easy to lift and carry when necessary. The suction is strong. I had vacuumed our family room carpet with a different vacuum and then immediately used this new Dyson, and it still picked up dirt and sand that the other vacuum must have missed. The steering is easy and comfortable. It swivels side to side and back and forth without much effort. There's a natural press down and release on the vacuum to shift it from standing mode into push mode. Using your foot isn't required. The base, which is about 13 1/4" wide, is self adjusting so it smoothly switches between our hardwood/tile to the carpet. The wand releases fairly easily and suction still holds up nicely. To empty the bin, you simply push the orange button, and then while you're over the trash bin, push down on the orange button to release the door. To wash the filter, it's also easy to access. The top pops lifts up and the filter is easy to pull out. The spin brush has a button to turn it off and on so you the option of using it or not depending on your floor. If it gets locked up on any item, the spin brush automatically turns off. A couple personal negatives- I wish there were a couple more attachments, especially a better stair one. I'm not a fan of the air forcing out of the top of the handle when it's completely upright and locked. Also, the ball gets pretty hot after running and takes a while to cool down and attracts dust to it. A couple different times during actual vacuuming, the entire base has popped off from the vacuum. I'm not sure why that's happening since there's no bumping or crashing, just normal use. I'm concerned it's going to be an ongoing problem. The canister isn't quite as large as I would prefer. I have a 4000 sq. ft house and I sometimes have to empty the bin before I'm done vacuuming the entire house. Overall, it's a nice vacuum. There's always room for improvement but so far so good. I'm hopeful it will hold up, be durable and reliable long term. I'm hoping the vacuum will live up to it's big name.

Before receiving this Dyson I had a pretty good vacuum that also ranks high in average customer reviews (made by a company with the name of an ocean fish made famous by a series of movies). In my review I'll be using some comparison between the two. When I first unboxed the Dyson I noticed the simple directions to assemble the vacuum. They basically use pictures with no text which is fine since it's just a few pieces to snap together. I looked it over to make sure everything looked ok and disassembled the filter/container area to make sure there was nothing else to take apart before trying it out. As easy as it sounds, the directions seem a little too dumbed down. Before even starting it up I noticed that the build quality seems to be lacking compared to my current vacuum. Lots of moving plastic parts and a somewhat wobbly vacuum that will fall over if not correctly locked into place. It's wobbly and feels like it could fall with little effort. When I first started vacuuming I noticed that the vacuum is much heavier and harder to move over the carpet than my other vacuum which is self-propelled. I also noticed that it got hot, like it was putting off heat and it had a chemical smell coming from it. I assumed it was from it being new and went ahead and finished vacuuming the floor to notice that there was a tiny clear sand type substance that was all over the ball and bottom of the vacuum. I emptied the container to see more of the tiny clear particles in the container along with dirt, dust, hair and the normal things you get when vacuuming the floor. I figured that since it was my first time using it I'd call customer service. Dyson customer service was very helpful in getting the vacuum registered and walking me thru some possible troubleshooting for the vacuum. They said that this is not normal and offered to replace it. This would involve me boxing it back up and shipping it back and waiting a few weeks for a replacement. I decided since it has a 5 year warranty that I'd keep it and see if the problem persisted. I've vacuumed several times after this incident and have not noticed as much of the clear particles, but there's still some there. That brings us to the vacuum. It did do an amazing job sucking up dirt and dust off of my floor. We don't have animals and normally keep a clean house but this thing was doing some serious work. The amount of suction the Dyson had was quite impressive. It cleaned a lot of dust off of my floors that I didn't think was there. Using the hose is a pain. The hose is very tightly installed in the vacuum and with the amount of suction and the weight and lack of sturdiness from the Dyson it's almost impossible to remove it while the vacuum is running. It just springs right back into the vacuum, pulls the vacuum towards you or knocks the vacuum over because of the way it's built. I tried the vacuum on both carpets and hard floors and it did a great job. Did it do better than the much cheaper vacuum that I purchased on sale? It seemed that way. Is it easier to operate than that cheaper vacuum? No. Pros on this vacuum: Suction strength. Wow. Easy cleaning/emptying canister House and air really "feels" cleaner after using Looks cool (C'mon this thing looks like a muscle car) Cons on this vacuum: Price Build quality Design quality (Hose and wobbly upright lock in design) Yes, my house felt cleaner after using the dyson. The vacuum is harder to use and push around than my previous vacuum. So if this is for someone with not a lot of arm strength I'd say you should weigh whether or not the suction power is worth the extra force needed to push it. The hose system is almost unusable unless I'm doing something really wrong. Maybe it will loosen up over time? With it's current design I feel like it's unusable on stairs due to the fact that the hose pulls so much on the unit that it's constantly in the way or feels like it's going to fall. For that reason I'll be keeping my other vacuum handy at least until the hose loosens up or I figure out a better method. Not sure why Dyson hasn't worked up a solution for this. Maybe concentrating more on suction power than how it's used. It's kind of like having a car with so much torque that it rips the axles off. I'm giving the dyson 3 stars for suction and that it does exactly what it says. I'm deducting 2 stars for the hose being what it's and for the price which is much higher than other comparable vacuums on the market. If I could use this on my stairs without it springing back into my face I'd add another star.

Hi there, this is Krystal with Dyson. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on the Dyson Ball Multi floor 2. I m pleased to hear that you are satisfied with the amount of suction power this unit provides. With the amount of suction you get from this machine, you may find that it is picking up what your previous vacuum could not, which is why you may be seeing the dust. This will, over time. The same can be said about the hose. With it being new, some parts may be a little stiff.

As for the quality, please rest assured, Dyson machines are made from polycarbonate ABS which is the same material used in riot shields and crash helmets. We subject them to 50,000 hours of testing and 550 individual tests. All of this to ensure they can withstand a lifetime's hard use.
