Bought this for its suction power. I own a 50lb black lab/german shepard mix so HAIR EVERYWHERE. I originally owned the Dyson Animal 2 but left that with my parents when I moved to a different town. I ordered this one because I didn't want to spend as much and didn't want a vacuum as large. The suction seems just as good and it cleans so well. It's spring shedding and it's been working like a charm. The part that holds the vaccumed up stuff isn't as large as the Animal 2 but it's still fantastic and I would recommend! You do have to put the vacuum together but it's really easy and the instructions are very clear and easy to follow.

The Best Vacuum I have ever had

I always thought that a vacuum was a vacuum and had bought a $150 hoover since our last one died. Over the few months we had it barely picked up dog hair or dirt. We always felt our home was messy because the carpets were filthy. We decided to give the dyson a try because of their reputation and reliability. The change is dramatic. The Dyson picks up so much more dirt, is easier to handle, its easier to clean and empty, plus it works better for attachments and the automatic adjustments for floor types is a must. The long warranty is just a complete bonus and it is worth every penny to go up from a basic vacuum to something that actually works well.

Very easy assembly (instructions were provided). Took less than 5 minutes. The first place we used it was on the carpet in our finished basement, which is a space we keep fairly clean. After a few passes on the carpet, the container was already filled up with so much dirt and fibers we didn't even know were in there from the naked eye. Very powerful!

I like my Dyson vacuum from Best Buy; my husband died, so I was forced to vacuum the house myself and I could not use the former vacuum that he used because I have terrible back problems and it was so heavy and hard to maneuver. This Dyson is lighter in weight and really picks up the dirt. Plus, it is a real dream to manipulate around the furniture, standing lamps, etc. It works well on tile, wood and carpeted floors and even on stairs. My husband always had to change the bag in the old one, but the Dyson doesn't use them; all you have to do is open the canister and dump the dirt in a waste basket. I like that because you can really see just how well it picks up. You can notice the distinct difference on the carpet--before and after. It also has attachments for cleaning furniture and you really don't have to use the wand attachment since it runs right up to the baseboards.

I researched this vacuum for weeks before deciding to purchase. I am quite impressed with how great of a job it does. I feel like it makes a huge difference with the quality of air in the room as well. I do not like how it does not like to be locked and rolled into the next room. I have found you can't push it forward locked, you have to pull it into the next room. That's the only thing that has been hard to trek the habit from my old vacuum. It definitely made my carpet's appearance look amazing. I have a little jack Russell and the little white hairs she sheds have not problem being sucked up by this vacuum. Plenty of suction when I use the attachments on the couches. I'm impressed just wish it would stay in the locked position when you push it into next room over.

First off, orange being my favorite color, it's hard to find products in this color. With that, putting it together was a breeze and my first use was just amazing. I have carpets that are only 6 months old and it picked up junk that looked like my carpets haven't been cleaned in a year. It gets everything and it's super easy to maneuver.

Let me start off byway that I am no way bashing Dyson. I love the power of this vacuum and how it is so easy to clean. I will by Dyson for years to come. The lack of 1 star is because of material quality. I owned a Dyson that last me 9 years. That is a huge return on investment, and the vacuum still works but parts started to break. After 9 years, you would expect things to start to break. This new Dyson is much lighter but compared to my old one, the quality of the materials has gone down. The plastic is thinner and I am afraid it won't last me 9 years again. This might sound petty but with a family of 5, I need that build quality to be there. I still would not buy an other vacuum even after seeing this lack of quality compare to the older models

This vacuum was to replace a Bissell that we owned for several years. We have half of our house carpeted and two golden retrievers. The suction is quite amazing. I don't think this has anything to do with filtration or the motor but simply that the vacuum head sits right against the carpet so there is no room for outside air. It is almost like a rolling suction cup on your carpet. On that note it does pick up a lot more that a regular vacuum. The hoses are not as easy since you have to unhook, unclick, etc. to use them however, it isn't that big of a deal. The vacuum is very easy to maneuver and is just as heavy/light as our old bag less Bissell. Overall, it does pick up a lot more that the Bissell but you also pay twice as much. That is my only reason for giving 4 stars. Not sure it is worth the cost.

I have tried them all and this is by far the best vacuum I have owned. I started using Dyson starting with their cordless model, but the battery life was mainly for short uses. This is my first corded model. It is well known that Dyson is the standard for vacuums. This model is smaller than the previous MultiFloor vacuum and packs greater suction I believe. Let's get into the real reason why you are reading this review. -= Design and Easy of Use =- 4/5 This vac by Dyson is lightweight and super easy maneuver due to it's ball design. The cleaning head automatically adjusts to the surface it is cleaning... this is COOL! The assembly of the machine (you must assemble the handle & vac head areas) is simple and easy, I didn't need to even look at the diagrams to put it together. It is easy to put together, if I remember correctly it was like 3-4 clicks that's it. My only gripe is the upright "legs" are annoying. Not a fan of the feet that keep it in the upright position. It doesn't really do a good job of supporting its weight. Light pressure to the handle causes it to fall into "vacuum" mode and if you aren't paying attention the handle hits the floor. This vac is super well made and feels very heavy duty, it's definitely a good quality piece of equipment with fewer moving parts to worry about. -= Performance =- 5/5 It's very powerful. I thoroughly enjoy watching dirt fill up the canister left behind from my previous vacuum. The side areas of the vac head works very well, in fact, the best of any vac I've ever used. This vac lifts the nap of our short shag carpet very well as well as low pile, wood and tile floors. This also isn't a super noisy machine. The canister is very easy to pop off and on as well as empty for cleaning. The wand is easy to use, it took awhile to get the hang of disengaging it from the machine without fuss but once I understood how to do it correctly I can now do it without being too clumsy. You are also provided with some basic tools for the wand that make it easy to clean cobwebs, corner, and ceiling areas (with the wand) as well as upholstery and furnishings (without the wand, simply attach your desired tool directly to the hose). I foresee our home remaining cleaner after vacuuming with this Dyson. This machine requires less maintenance than other vacs we own, there are no bags to worry about, and the included filters can be washed (recommended to do this task once a month with regular usage) before they need to be replaced due to wear. -= What I love about this vacuum =- * Super easy to maneuver around corners and difficult to clean areas, this vac swivels much better than any I've ever owned. The cord is extra long to reach more areas of your house. * The suction on this machine is truly amazing! I would say it's the best I've experienced to far. The dirt goes directly into the canister from the head, so you won't find yourself losing suction unless there's a clog somewhere. The dirt isn't forced to wind around all sorts of receptacles (more common in American made uprights) where suction is lost. * Dyson offers a great 5 year limited warranty as long as the machine is treated with care. * This machine is super easy to maintain. AskDyson has videos on YouTube that covers maintenance and general care of this vac and answers basic questions. * I feel this vac is a great investment for the price point. I sincerely doubt you will find a better model from another company for the price. The main points are superb suction, ease of use, and low maintenance costs (no bags or filters to replace each month). If you want more tools, you'll have to spend more (upgrade to the Animal version or shell out cash for each tool). -= What I don't like =- * I cannot lay this vac down to use under the bed or our coffee tables, etc. It's simply too bulky with the ball shape to do this, so furniture must be moved around instead, or the wand must be used, which doesn't get quite as clean as using the vac itself. * The included accessories are adequate, but I would prefer to also have a few more to round out the efficiency of this vac. Additional tools (like the turbine tool for upholstery) are expensive and need to be considered with the price if needed. For example: a flexible crevice tool runs in the $30+ dollar range, mattress tool is $20+, turbine tool $30+ and so on. It really depends upon what your needs are. I like the turbine tool for cleaning our, upholstery, and stairs, so will consider purchasing that first. -= Verdict =- Must buy if you are in search of a new vacuum. Dyson users will probably benefit from waiting until their vacuum breaks because it still works great. Need a vacuum, buy this. Have a Dyson already... wait unless you want one on each floor like me :)
