I had my doubts about Dyson being worth the cost compared to cheaper vacuums, but decided to take the leap anyhow. They do live up to their reputation- the suction on this vacuum is incredible. It was pulling things out of my carpet in great quantities even after it had been vacuumed by my old unit. You will have no complaints about the ease of cleaning carpets or the ease of emptying the dust bin (which fills up fast). And don't try to use it on throw rugs or bath mats. The suction will just suck them up and clog the vacuum. There are a few areas that this vacuum has been a disappointment though. First, if you stop vacuuming for a moment to pick something up, the vacuum falls over 90% of the time even if you 'lock' it in the upright position. You constantly have to lean it against something to keep it from falling over. Secondly, the wand attachment is complicated to use and will DEFINATELY cause the vacuum to fall over. My $150 Kenmore never had this problem. A $500 Dyson should not either. Lastly, it does not work well on hardwood floors. You can turn the beater bar off and it does have great suction, but the lip of the vacuum is too low. It just pushed the debris on the floor around. My kid spilled popcorn kernels on the kitchen floor. All this vacuum did was push them around until I gave up and had to use the wand attachment.

We added this one to our growing collection of Dyson Vacs (3 handhelds and a large ball). This is great for the main floor. Easy to maneuver, light enough to pick up to navigate furniture etc. We wanted something that could be used without having to worry about recharging or need for frequent emptying. Light enough to take up the two flights of stairs if necessary but handhelds are usually adequate for stairs and 2nd floor usually don’t need to carry it much. So for all the Dysons have great suction and pick up everything on the first pass, this one is no exception! Fits our needs perfectly!

I’ve got a super thick shag style rug, and hardwoods, and thick matte carpet. Had to find a vacuum To do it all.... This things suckkksssss!!! In the all the best ways. And you can turn off the beater bar so it won’t destroy hardwoods or suck in any loose rugs!

My second Dyson and this one improves on my dc07. This has more suction, is lighter and easier to manoeuvr. Overall, a great va uum

I thought my old Kirby vacuum cleaner did an excellent job since it had great suction. So, was I ever surprised to see how much dirt I got out of our carpets with this new Dyson vacuum cleaner. They even look cleaner. It's so easy to maneuver. I find it pretty easy to push around on our thick pile carpets. The wand is conveniently stored in the handle. I'm one very happy customer. By the way, it's made in Malaysia--not China!

I have been using this vacuum for quite some time now and it has worked flawlessly. It has very strong suction, way more powerful then the Hoover that it replaced. The filters are easy to clean and to empty the dirt bin simply requires the push of a lever. Love how easy it is to maneuver the vacuum around various objects(tables, couch, etc) and it is very lightweight to carry around. Just wish I had bought a Dyson a long time ago, but always thought they were overpriced, but now I know that they are well worth it.

This has a lot of power and a long enough cord. I’ve used the cordless for the past few years. This is heavier but is a lot better.

This Dyson far surpasses my expectations! It really gets deep into the carpet! It’s not heavy like all my past vacuums. I have only one minor complaint- The handle doesn’t go down far enough to get under some spaces, like my patio furniture in my sunroom. Other than that, it’s far superior than any other vacuum and I’ve had every brand.

This dyson vacuum cleaner is a great one, easy to use, good suctions, easy to put together, and it’s light.

This is vacuume sucks way more than other vaccumes I've owned. Probably the suckiest out there. Out of the reviews I read before buying the biggest complaint seemed to be it was hard to maneuver and loud. It moves a little different than a normal vaccume but thats because of the ball it rides on. I haven't had an issue with it free standing and it is louder than most. But overall it is an excellent vacuum.

I've been waiting to buy a Dyson for a few years, just looking for a good deal. I purchased this product during an online sale and knew immediately I made a great choice. This vacuum maneuvers well, is easy to setup, and works like a Dyson is expected to. I'm a little upset that I didn't purchase the animal series since I have two cats that shed a lot, but this vacuum still does the job. Cleaning the canister is easy, as well as using the attachments for the stairs. I'm a very satisfied purchaser.

Let me start by saying i purchased a roomba before this and i wish i would have just got this Dyson from the start. Its great i can go from my wood to tile to carpet all in one cleaning. The suction is GREAT and was extremely easy to put together. Only downfall is the dirt chamber does not hold as much as i would like it to and the cord not being retractable. Though if you upgrade models i believe that is an option. All in all i would say you NEED this vacuum in your life.

The vacuum does a great job cleaning. It’s small yet does an outstanding job. It’s also very light and easy to use.

Love this vacuum! Very easy to use and steer. Makes vacuuming the floors fun (crazy, I know). Love the fact that it works on multiple types of floors too. A couple of small design issues such as getting the vacuum to stand upright can be slightly annoying, but the product overall is worth it. Emptying the canister is incredibly easy. It isn't silent, but it is not the loudest either. Can't go wrong with a Dyson and the price is justifiable.
